I love the historic teams but the numbers are jumbled for some reason so you really have to put a bunch of time in on making them accurate. I made just the defense with that historic team. On M19, I made the ENTIRE 1987 Saints using the historic roster.

in terms of deph, yea. but gameplay wise the gameplay feels actually pretty good.

😂 I definitely enjoy M21 a little bit more than all these games. I'm hoping 15 has a few bright spots

I think I used 8 threshold through the first half just to have a little bit more speed in the gameplay. It felt decent!

@@SimFootballFanatic I would rather 15 over the games you played most recently. 15 has some really solid moments and some really crappy moments. For me it’s just out of the top 5 Maddens for me… I can play it to this day though and have some fun. Gameplay is decent in the realism department. Player movement is hit or miss and overall player control is definitely hard to say if it’s good. You definitely gotta learn how to move and do the movements. If you can get that down it’s decent at best imo. One thing I really don’t like is the QB movement when throwing the ball it’s like you don’t even seem to be scrambling to throw it’s like you are running full speed… when you do decide to run with the QB once you pass the line of scrimmage the movement changes and its like a barrier. It’s hard to explain but yeah it’s weird.

Hopefully it's halfway decent!

@@CohenMiller-xf7fv I made these two teams and I kid you not when I say it took like 3-4 hrs per team. So tedious lol I love APF but the editor is a labor of love to use and the lack of franchise... I'm looking into Madden 15, flew under the radar and I think with some setting tweaks, it might be good.

@CohenMiller-xf7fv I haven't made a custom roster in probably a year. It's at least a month worth of work and I couldn't decide if I wanted it to be on M18, M19, M21 or APF 😂

Madden 19 plays like hot garbage out of the box. Ugly warping, seemingly no movement penalty to cuts and jukes. So I decided to turn the gameplay speed to Very Slow and all of it got majorly smoothed out. The real decision is whether to use 0 threshold for the absolute smoothest experience. Or 8, yes 8, threshold. That's the as high as the user can go before noticable warping really starts kicking in. I made another video showing the difference between 8 and 9 threshold. Crazy how it affects it THAT much. Madden 19 may be a touch stiff and slow but it honestly isn't half bad once you try to make it "sim".

@@SimFootballFanatic I'll have to check out your other videos. I've exclusively used 100 speed threshold for years until recently, switching to 95 at the recommendation of some folks.

Understandable. I mostly tweak my settings to slow down unrealistic animation speeds, warping, etc to visually look like real NFL football. Of course, this can lead to either speed not mattering as much, or having a huge disparity. If you've played All Pro Football, then you're used to speed difference being small. Big plays happen because of key blocks and user skill. Not "Watch my 96 speed HB outrun everyone. Speed helps, but it's not like Raheem Mostert is scoring a 70 yard TD every game. Lol.

Madden 19 is one of the better animation based Maddens. Just like 18 is good for a combination of both ragdoll and animations. A lot of people still like the feel of these older games. I myself tend to play APF or M21 (next gen) because it is objectively smoother than even M22-M25.

@@OO_Seminoles The USB camera app has an internal capture option (forgot to toggle audio 🤣) so I can record the video as it's coming into the tablet instead of a screen recording, which has a lesser quality.

Don't forget to try my settings! Very slow gameplay speed 0 threshold for smoothest animation 8 threshold for faster gameplay but less warping

@@SimFootballFanatic i played a few hour w your slider settings on madden 18 it was kinda a good experince so thank you for helping me out! Also i noticed that in practice mode sometimes the replay mode are glitching, there is fps drops in the replay but in-game everything works just fine, did you ever had that issue? Also what gamemode do you play on m18? I didnt really like coach mode bc there is nothing really to do there.

@mk_18 When you slow the gameplay speed, the replays skip a little bit... It's unfortunate but it's part of the game. I spend most of my time in franchise but you can set all that to auto and just play the games if you want!

I honestly roll with All Madden for user play and All Pro for visual sim. I'm not very good at subjective things like sliders.

This wasn't too hard to do but changing the age and dev trait in franchise took forever and a day 😂 The menu loaded so slow per player.

Madden 18 has the best Coach Mode and best visual sim that I've found. That's an underrated feature.

I'm on Series X, but you can buy the Next Level Edition - which was the next gen version for PS5 and Series consoles. Just have to tweak a few settings.

If you want an aggressive defense, try cover 3 match or Cover 4 match (palms, quarters) The defense is super aggressive and the safeties are involved in the run fits.

I’ve been playing nba 2k lately. I’ve been playing 2k6,2k8 and 2k11. Those gameplays in them games were nice. All are different in their own ways and all full of depth.

I 100% get that. When I get bored of playing the same few Maddens year after year, I dip out to COD for like a month. Or to APF. It's sad that one year they make strides in some areas, then start tweaking it in negative/unrealistic ways. I have a M21 video I'm working on and you can clearly see we're regressing.

Man, if only 2K5 had slightly better gameplay or if APF had ANY bare bones franchise. I'd take Madden 07 with updated rosters at this point lol I've looked into the DB editor but saw mixed outcomes. I'm not comfortable with messing with those kinds of files.

@@SimFootballFanatic yeah 2k5 just annoys me with that run animation lol.. running animation is a big deal for me and players speeds feeling different from slower players. 2k3 has better running animations actually just is ancient and I don’t know about if I can play a game that old lol. MADDEN 05 is like the oldest I’ll go to.

@@SimFootballFanatic oh yeah, I remember watching those guys! I did the same as well. I cut a cable and got an antenna. Started watching more Navy games. Do you remember the 2009 Ohio State game? They were so close

Around that time, I started falling head first in the NFL, Saints to be exact. I can't remember if I was able to still watch their games or just stopped. I legit spend the next 10 years following the NFL until about 2019 when I noticed Navy actually made it into the top 25... all thanks to Malcolm Perry lol I'm trying to get back into college football but it's hard to find a way to watch their games.

I think so, it's the one right before Broadcast. It's maybe not the most tactical one but it's a "breath of fresh air" type of experience

I played NCAA09 almost exclusively and that's what I played up until recently lol I ran this experiment back yesterday and Bill actually did really good after his first 2 seasons, I predicted a struggle simple because it wasn't his roster and even his players would be freshmen in year two. Year 3 was when he started to shine. I'm learning tweaks to these passive rebuilds.

So I was thinking this would be an extremely OP build if you only targeted gems. You'd have an excellent team. I'll go back this this save today and see what happens!

@rare80 I appreciate it 🙏🏼 I think my next stream might be a realistic rebuild for Navy. It's been so easy to just cheese the game and get four and five stars. At least I know the CPU will scout and recruit based upon the prestige of the program. I'm thinking I could impose house rules on myself such as only using the recommended tab and only going to tier two on the recruiting skill tree. Or I could go all out on the skill tree but the CPU would only get minimal benefits from that. Starting out with 400 hours compared to power 5 schools that have a thousand hours already makes it tough but I was able to cheese it and land a bunch of prospects.

It's all good bro. Give me a few days to put it together. There's a lot of nuance and individual choice in some scenarios. But mostly, you need a lot of luck because the RNG can be rough lol

They don't work on Xbox either. You have to use a shared profile to copy rosters or a shared profile to use a save offline.

I have a few rosters on there but they're a few years old now at this point

I'm a stickler for ball carrier movement looking realistic. For the last few years, we've had a bad running animation. In fact, it hasn't looked good since M21 Next Gen. CFB25 is definitely NOT sim lol But if you're looking for an over the top college experience, it's honestly not that bad. I've been testing recruiting methods I've seen on YT. It's mixed results. Recruiting is a grind for sure. But for M25, I'm hoping they add the ability to assign signature animations to any players, then I could at least fix my team. I'll need to see more gameplay before I purchase it

They want to try signature animations for some skill players. That means A LOT of players will get the basic running style. It's the reason I haven't bought Madden in 3 years. I can't stand the way they run lol

The spec catch button looks OP from the leaks I've seen. I'm more so concerned with the amount of warping and ignored physics that even present on M24. Also, the ball carrier run styles aren't the best either.
