I've read the book. Some of it resonate with me and was insightful, but Jay is heavy on Psychology and light on Scripture. Jay's approach to repentance and the Gospel are overshadowed and it's almost as if he's applying that we should cozy up to our sinful desires. I think that is dangerous. The heart is desperately wicked, as the Scripture teaches, but Jay's approach sounds like he wants us to "follow our hearts". He also encourages people to consider starting Yoga, which is a demonic and dangerous practice.

My Question to you is this, My Husband & I have been married going on 27 years we had sex/made love for the first 2 years of marriage & since then he wants no part of it, he's on Pills for Bi-Polar Manic Depression & so he can't get aroused & if he can't then he doesn't want any part of it even for me. I'm not like most women I was married before & I never had to worry about not having my needs met, now I struggle with the fact that I have to go with out. I think a lot of the time, the "objectionable" content you describe absolutely has a place in the story the directors and actors are trying to tell. One of my favorite films, "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me" is all about the last week in the life of a teenage girl, who was sexually abused and brutally murdered. The movie wouldn't be the same if you removed the sex and violence. It's like, for an analogy religious people could understand, if they removed the part of the bible where Jesus is tortured and killed. I admire his points, respect his values... were he and others convince the studios to stop with the more graphic stuff.. not only would I agree we are more better off...
