1 was dating Clive Buttell. When this came out I think the ladies vocals on the backing were too loud it took away from the rest of the bands performance Des Hurley had a wonderful voice and the band were very good with their own harmonis. I😮

Terry Connolly was a great singer and stage presence. Top band of their time.

This was our local band when I was a kid, was so proud of them ,used to jump for joy when their songs were played on radio, sadly many of the members have passed away including the lead singer Shea and Patsy Haugh. Patsy's son John is now a member of The Gerry Guthrie Band.

Wow! My parents wrote this. I’m amazed and really pleased to find it. It got to 6 in the Irish charts in 1965 or 1966. They used to enter songs for the National Song Contest throughout the 1960s and had several in the last round but never qualified for the Eurovision proper. I have a scrapbook they compiled of all the press coverage about this song. Let me know if you’re interested in seeing it.

Celine those are lovely words for your Dad I heard him sing in Stranraer in the mid 1960s his rendition of “love thee dearest” was brilliant I have great memories of Prince Vince and the Kings Showband.
