Concerning the medical clearance, do they accept nurses with chronic illness eg hypertension, asthma?
Yes they do. They do not discriminate against any illness.
How about nurses with specialities in trauma and emergency nursing or critical care nursing.. How is the demand for them? are they able to work in ER and ICU departments?
Oh yes there’s demand for them. Emergency department nurses and ICU nurses and once you join what we call agency nursing, you get paid really high rates compared to us the general nurses. Though anyone can work in ICU or A&E because for most of the time here, it’s job on training, I am actually thinking about moving from my unit to ICU and yet I am not trained in ICU mgt. Having done the speciality course is just an added advantage.
