I'm revisiting some story ideas around magical industrial weaponry. Sicaella is here with a spike charge that's set-and-run. So hopefully the light uniform is suitable for moving fast. What would be cool next is to see her in full regalia!

Putting together a Floor Desk with IKEA Sultan Bed Legs
มุมมอง 8K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I put together a new lounge style floor desk using an old IKEA tabletop and the IKEA Sultan bed legs. There's a little bit of wobble but it works great for resting!

Just watched your other floor desk video from four years ago and love the transition! I’m looking for ideas and stumbled across your channel but will definitely subscribe because I like your style 😎
you even have a floor cat :D

Very cool. Sitting on the floor and sleeping on the floor is the future! The ergonomics are amazing. No more pain.
This so cool. 😮 ivebeen trying to make my own floor desk setups but always found it hard to find a good quality floor desk that was a good size and a chair as well with it. Thank your for posting this it was well needed for my inspiration. ☺️
why are you wearing jeans bro
Great idea. I was thinking of using the same table top for a desk...
I was curious about the structure of this product and arrived at the video. Thank you for the detailed explanation.
What can I buy to fix the wobble? I need the name of the filler or padding please
You can try Teflon/Plumbing/ Thread Seal Tape, that is usually used for water piping. It's very thin and you can wrap it around the leg to the thickness that you need. I have not added tape to my legs, since I was able to prevent wobble by pulling each leg outward (pull the left legs left and right legs to the right). This causes the legs to balance each other out.
@@shuandang Thank you!
this looks so cool, great job man
thank u this was helpful
Thank you, very glad you liked it!
I will lift 15cm.
by the way, min height is 10 cm (Min. height: 3 7/8 ") , max height is 20 cm.(Max. height: 7 7/8 )
thank u for video bro. i will buy it for my ikea bed. I will lift my bed little bit, thus when my wife is lying on the bed and I can do dirty things easier. it's adjustable so I will adjust position of my wife :D
great idea! and your cat rolling to its back and spreading its legs is sooo cute
How high did you set up this floor desk?
did you finish it? i was following your blog but it stopped updating
FLOOR GANG
Whoa so smart! And ikea is so cheap too. Thanks for the idea!!
dont' you get stiff with your legs crossed like that? can't be good for your circulation.
Well, sitting on the floor pretty much forces you to move more which in return makes it healthier than sitting in a comfortable chair for multiple hours.
@@marvinsprenger9949 exactly!
Your setup is definitely cozy. I've had a floor setup for over a decade and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. Usually, I sit on a couple thin floor pillows underneath me without any back support. After you find a few good sitting positions things feel so much better than sitting in a chair. I'm able to work for hours with a few breaks for stretching and/or eating. When I visit a friend and have to sit in a chair I feel weird because of the height difference of the keyboard.
I’m trying to find something like this with the same height but with another solid top (I guess you call it a wood slab or the desk-top) so I could make a DIY kotatsu. The closest I’ve come is the IKEA “LACK” table but it’s like $74 from amazon for cheap particle board. Or at least I think it’s particle board. I feel like it’d burn down with the kotatsu heater installed. Hmm And the only authentic kotatsu is $216 and I have no idea of the actual quality. Can you have a keyboard on it and will it break? Will it break if you have a hot beverage on it? I truly don’t know. I’d love to donate this heavy ass desk I have and then get a floor desk/kotatsu going but cannot for the love of god find anything that isn’t over $200 😂
That's a great idea! I've actually been thinking the same thing (maybe a new project in winter). I don't want to cut open my current desk, though, so maybe a bottom mounted heater would work? I don't know how well these light particleboards would handle heat. I'd expect a bit of warping if the heat isnt dispersed evenly.
Ps, any idea where I could get two table tops like this black one you have, two of the same size without paying an arm and a leg?
The one I got is from a really old model IKEA, so I don't think you can find an exact one. I recommend shopping around the table section at IKEA since they sell tabletops separately. You can also look for free desks on Facebook Marketplace, then break down the table for what you need. Good luck!
1:18 GIVE BELLY AND NOSE RUBS to the furry baby :D that means he trusts you and is content!
Yeah! My cat asks for belly rubs every day and likes to nap around me.
Floor gang
Super helpful. I have a spare table top and I feel like my body is asking me to sit on the floor to work (12 hours give or take a day too) vs the last month on a standing desk sans a stool to lean on at times. Now just gotta wait for Ikea to open back up!!! Boxes will do for thr short term. Thanks so much for sharing!
Glad it was helpful! It's important to feel comfortable at your desk!
FLCL? Man of culture.
I'm trying to find a floor desk and I don't know where to look.
Same here lol
I've just put an ikea desk top on two wooden beams I cut down to a suitable size and stained :)
That means most of us have to get into woodworking. That's a bit of a stretch, for something nuanced and new and not sure 100% switching to this full time. Not your fault though. Maybe one day
The setup I'm using is a tabletop on top of IKEA Besta drawers. Hacked together but it's stable and works great!
Nice set up. FLCL Forever.
Been also thinking of going for this setup but I’m not so sure about the comfort. I work more or less 12hrs a day.
I am on the computer about the same, and this is not good for long hours. I am searching for alternatives to this, but also don't want a traditional western desk
the point of this is not to be 12 hrs in the same position, but to encourage mobility
Good stuff.
