We love the outdoors!!! Follow us as we grow our channel. All our videos will be based outdoors or have something to do with outdoors... or beer drinking (but still outdoors). We are not professionals but we have been doing this for 26 years so we know what we need to know, that being said we can still always learn more.
Please subscribe if you could and help our channel grow. Also if you would like to comment then please do so bad or good. We are now on Instagram @ boyzinthewood_official so DM us with any ideas you may have there.
Stay safe out there people and have a cold beer to add the cheer.

Goodbye and Thanks
So my wife and I are expecting our second child in the next few weeks. I can therefore no longer carry on with the channel, certainly not at the same pace its had over the last 4 years. It's with a heavy heart that I say this but ultimately I have to be a father and husband first.
We may be back in the future in some sort of form but at this moment in time I have no idea when, if or how that will be. Maybe Gav will start filming more of his adventures with Amy, Maybe my wife will let me out for the odd camp now and again (I'm really hoping for a Christmas one), or maybe I'll do the odd kit review video just to keep the channel on life support... maybe we won't be back at all. I guess we'll all find out together.
I would just like to thank all of our supporters, subscribers, friends (old and new) and family who have helped us make the channel what it is today. This is a video of my last camp (first 12 minutes) followed by a musical montage of all my favorite bits/camps over the years. Please enjoy.
Thank you.

Part 2 Arnison Crag Lake District 2024
มุมมอง 12528 วันที่ผ่านมา
Day 2, part 2: We scrambled off Glenridding Dodd and made our way over to another car park where we had arranged to meet Glenn (he left at 5:30am so he was as knackered as the rest of us). After some lunch and a pint we scrambled up to the top of Arnison Crag. At only 433 meters, it isn't exactly high, but the views were incredible regardless. I highly recommend this as a walk or a place to wil...

Gav and I went for an exploration to find new camp spots. We came along a fairly steep hill that we had to climb down. We were both wearing inappropriate footwear and that showed with Gav. A Forgotten Castle Bailed Camp With A Very Honest Message

Years ago whilst Googling, I discovered a forgotten castle in Wales (it's actually a manor house but it's called a castle) called East Orchard Castle. I have planned to go there a few times but for some reason or another I just never made it there, well that is until this day. I had a good explore of the beautiful ruins and surrounding location and was all ready to camp. But then I couldn't fin...

I was very kindly given the Hill Zero Matis 2 Ultralight tent from a good friend Mike AKA Novice Wild Camper. Unfortunately I then came down with pneumonia and couldn't get out for quite a while. I review the Geertop Twig Stove sent out to me by Temu. Its a stainless steel, 1mm gauge, rocket stove. A little on the heavy side but that's to be expected with the materials its made from. Amazing outdoors. 😀
I just discovered your beautiful channel. Thanks for the pleasant time in the nature. Best wishes to your growing family.
Chaps, thanks for sharing your wild camping adventures over the years and for inspiring R and I to have some of our own. 🫡
It's not goodbye, just "see you in abit". Take a well earned break and no doubt you will comeback bigger and better. ATB Dan 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
Brilliant montage! Genuinely brought a lump to our throats 😢. You tube won't be the same without you. We have never actually met you Gez, although we have given it a good go a few times, but it never quite worked out, such is life😔. BUT, we have watched your channel from the start, we have watched every one of your videos, we feel like we know you, class you as a mate, that is what your channel does so well. Huge congratulations on the soon to be here second baby in the Owen clan! We wish you and your family all the best. Thanks for all the laughs you have given us over the past 4 years. Never say never, maybe we will catch you on the flip side for your come back one day 😊👊🤞 Much love Shell and Pete
It's not good bye. Hope u n ya wife have a safe birth.x
This looks good..........Ta.............
Gez, legend, a true survivor. You're a good man😉
You have done something really awesome with the channel and not even the algorithm can deny that You and the content you put out will of course be missed but hopefully it will return again someday! Ps I hope you have recovered from the brambles and nettles which seemed to ferociously ambush you as you tried to get to the camping spot 😄
Absolutely classic memories mate best of wishes and huge love and respect mate x

Take the well earned rest and be with your family mate. The amount of camps and work you have put in you deserve it. 69 camps i a year, you deserve a council tax rebate!! The next chapter will be your kids (or first born) camping with you 👍👍. All the best Gez,
Been wicked watching your camps over the years. ❤ Hope all goes well with your growing family. Super cool film as always, nice one clart. Take it easy. 👍🏴
Aw man well I'm gonna keep on wearing my Boyz in the Wood had in work 😀 What an amazing spot though bro
Lets face it after a few weeks your mrs will be begging you to piss off to the woods :)
Hi Gez, will miss you,I loved the bivy camps, make sure to watch mine ! Cheers Adrian
Sorry to see you go, man -- but it's understandable. Thanks so much for taking us all on your beautiful adventures. And thanks for making a goodbye video and not just leaving us to worry over what could have possibly happened to you. And yet Congratulations! Your adventure continues on with your little girl. My best childhood memories are when my father would take me out into the wilderness: just him and me under the moonlight, with a campfire and all the forest animals sniffing out our fish dinner. The little prince and his rose in our own universe. We had the time of our lives. I'm so excited that you and yours get to experience that for yourself now. Teach her everything you know -- that's how you protect her when you can't be there in person. Hope we see you again someday. Love to your family and your mates.💖
Gez, this is normally the point where I would write a long, rather comical and mostly untrue random story. Here's a true story - I met a couple of brothers called Gez & Gav through TH-cam and drove over 5 hours down to Wales to finally meet them, one of the best decisions I ever made in my life. TH-cam is youtube, Views are views & likes are likes... friendships are everything 💙 You've completed youtube mate because you have the best friends and connections in the world thanks to it .. I'm just so honoured and grateful I'm one of those people youtube led you to. My inbox is always open, my phone line is always free.. although I'm not too shy of 300 miles away, I'm right by your side forever. Love you brothers 💙
Ffs Adam you nearly had me in tears 😂. Lovely wee story tho. Happy camping boyz
All the best buddy see you on the other side
Hopefully you'll be back Gez, I'm sure you will and we'll catch up again some time ❤

@o.bsoutdoors3871 cheers guys. I should give you a shout the next time I'm off up that way 👍
There is something about lake district fells, they are always steeper then they look!😂. Brilliant camp Gez, we loved the lantern and wainwright idea, well done to Alan for organising and raising money for the amazing MRT, despite what some might think 😆👊👍 Shell and Pete
Love that great camp on the top of the hills. Nice cooking too ❤
@EventyrsorenDenmark The Lake District is one of the UKs true treasures. If ever you get the chance to come over to the UK then just skip everywhere else and go straight there. Cheers buddy 👍
Forgetting your drone is possible, I've done it once myself lol. What a view from up there. You guys were living the dream. If I wasnt in Cornwall, I would have definitely been up for this trip. Great vid gez
@CampNWildWithTheDragon I do it all the time, but luckily I have an official drone man for the channel, his names Glenn 😅 You'd love it up there Dai. Cheers fella 👍 👌
This is the very mountain my tent got smashed to bits. I'm glad you had a better experience than me! Great idea by Alan for the charity. Very well done fellas! I can't wait to come back down to Wales again, last time was one to remember when we stole that loaf of bread from the co-op and the lady chased us out but she fell over and we had to pick her up but then when she was up we just carried on running and hid in the Toby carvery toilets and got caught vaping inside. Great video brother uncle cousin sister
@adaminthewild8915 I absolutely love you mate ❤️ 🤣
Lovley camp mate,stunning views,well done😂
@stevehegarty5394 almost as beautiful as Wales 👍
Group camping in the Lake District is not allowed. Because there are many now (mainly TH-camrs) doing this, parking so close to a small fell, with no regard to the rules, both the LDNP and the NT authorities are considering a total ban on wild camping. I don't get how people can actually call this "wild" in the first place; you, and many others, are basically turning the fells into campsites.
It's time to be quiet now Richard and listen to the facts instead of spewing out slander. Hopefully, I can encourage you to stop being a troll. Firstly, this was an organised charity event involving over 100 people. We liaised with the mountain rescue services (all 3 of the cumbrian groups) to plan it as best as we could and to let them know the fells we were on. Only our fell had 4 campers, all the rest had one or two maximum. We had to have our very small group together as we were organising 100+ people with messages, directions, timings for the beacon display, etc etc etc. Have you ever tried organising so many people on your own? Obviously, the answer is no. Trust me, you need a few people to be able to manage it well, especially when you're sending them up to some high fells and safety is a priority. We were on this specific fell as it was a central location that importantly had mobile signal. And it's above 400mtrs so within the rules. Now I hope you never need to use the mountain rescue service up there, but if you do, then remember the 5k we raised to help them help you. Please don't watch my channel anymore, your comments are not welcome and will be deleted, but not this one. I want people to see my reply and learn to be quiet until they know the facts.
Mate, you’re taking absolute bollocks !! There was 3 of us camped apart, and off the beaten path where we couldn’t be seen and above 400m I know the rules inside and out and just because you see a TH-cam video about it you want to start giving us the 3rd degree Not only that but I’m often in the fells clearing up other peoples 💩 which I’m guessing you’ve never done Get off your high horse and do one 🍆
@boyzinthewood1 and you should know some facts, I know about the event and what MR think about the group camping. This has got nothing to do with what event you were doing, or for what organisation, simple matter is you are not sticking to the rules set by the landowner. There's no point in attacking me over it, or insulting me. I totally disagree with everything else you say, and yes, I've lead 100s events in the Lake District, one with 150+ people. I know most MRT members, some closely, I volunteer for the NT, and my wife works for them. So you're wrong again. Yet again, your response says everything. End of the day you are breaking the rules set by the landowner, but selfishly you are not accepting that. Btw, don't tell anyone to be quiet.
@@richardjennings2708 I’ve seen you’ve participated in my group on fb before and had multiple comments removed as you have on other groups You’re a troll !!! I could post the messages from the multiple MR Teams I’ve been taking to but I’m not giving you the time of day ….
@richardjennings2708 be quiet or shut up. Choose the response you prefer. Talk rubbish, and you'll be told to shut up by a lot more people than just me. And I will keep telling you to shut up, even though we all know trolls like you never shut up but shut up anyway. You're obviously a troll because you've had many comments removed from FB. I know you're aware of the event as you are in that group, unless Alan decides to boot you out. He probably will now because people like you are toxic, and toxic people are not wanted or liked by anyone.
Glen definitely wins the best tent/table combo award 🤣 nice one gez. Stunning up there. I must make another trip one day 👍
Join us on the next one. It's going to be an annual thing, and you're more than welcome. Glenn wins everything 🤣 Cheers Mike
