The Making of Zero X Reimagined
มุมมอง 70110 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is a brief introduction to the techniques I used to make the Zero X Assembly Procedure Reimagined film. Zero X being the star guest vehicle from the Thunderbirds Are Go movie from 1966. This isn't a CG tutorial, just a glimpse behind the scenes. I had a lot of interest in how I made the film, so I thought I'd create this mini doc to explain.
Zero X Assembly Procedure Reimagined! Compressed
มุมมอง 344K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
In 1966 the movie version of the Thunderbirds TV show hit the big screen. It opened with a lengthy launch sequence for one of the greatest guest vehicles in the Thunderbirds universe - the Zero X Martian Space Vehicle. I decided to do my own version of the launch, using CG modelling and production. I decided not to update the ship itself much, but everything else gets a thorough make-over. This...

The Professor King Chronicles - Feature Film Project
This is really good but one of the things that made Zero-X special for me was the parts driving out to the runway to be assembled
Man, I really love this. Outstanding work!
As much as I love the original being that I saw it in the cinema back then! this was just a fantastic re make of the original and could have been excellent for the original film! Well done to all involved in designing it and the computer work behind it! Well done guys! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👌I am now 66 and just loved it all back then!
That was… phenomenal! I love the song and has since it was released but the video is spectacular! ❤️🤘
이렇게 절차가 느리고 복잡 할 수가...더러다 날기도 전에 당하겠다. >L<
Utterly brilliant! Thank you!
Had to have Barry Grays music, without it, not the same. Dare I say better than the original 1966 scenes. Gerry would be impressed.
Thanks for your comment. Yes I had to use the main theme. It means so much to me and everyone who loves the original. I wish Gerry could have seen it. Thanks again.
Wow, well done! 👌🏻
Wow. Just wow. Very well done, indeed.
Thanks for the message. Very much appreciated. More is coming soon.
i subscrided to sow you respect i was born when the thunderbirds were born living my entire loving them and will forever bloody well done
👍
Stunning bit of work!! - the hardware looks great and I reckon the various assembly sequences in your version look more mechanically plausible than some of those in the original movie (never understood why they needed to have the whole hangar for the main body retract when the vehicle itself was on wheels). Can we see more please?
Many thanks for your comment. Very much appreciated. Yeah, I also struggled with that hangar slide back. Also the flimsy rail for loading LB1. So the redesign was intended to both actually work and also be ludicrously over the top in true Anderson style. There will be more. I'm moving over to Unreal Engine for rendering and creation so these films should get a bit quicker!
How the hell did he do this? It's utterly incredible!
Thanks for the support. You can see the making of on my channel.
@@NeMoWorks Thanks very much. And all the best for the future
Amazing work. But as a constructive comment, the nose cone was missing. Amazing work though!! 😁😁
Elon eat your heart out
Absolutely love this version
Thanks Paul - appreciate the support. And there is more to come.
This was very impressive. It kind of feels like this is what the assembly and launch of Zero X would look like if made in real-life. NASA and SpaceX could learn a thing or 2 from watching this and the original Thunderbirds, as well as the movie.
Excellent! This could be epic.
Hey, Neil. How's the next Zero-X video coming along?
Hey Matthew - getting there. I'm working on this full length Steampunk musical at the same time and its a big job. I have about half the footage I need for the next bit of Zero X. But I'm also switching over to using Unreal Engine for rendering. This means moving a bunch of assets across which is a headache. Once I'm full in Unreal I can make these things much faster. But it is on the way, Promise.
man i used to love the Zero X rocket bcs it crashed 2 times and the explosions were pretty big
Thats some crazy but incredibly good work. Mind blowing. Now wait for the re-entry video and rescue hint hint
Oh yeah. Believe me, I'm doing it! Mars first though.
@@NeMoWorks look forward to seeing more. Excellent work
this theme by berry grey is , ohm myyyy,
The jet engine sounds awful, best soundtrack to use is a General Electric TF 39 turbofan of a Mark One C5 Galaxy ,man at full thrust they howl and scream to set ones teeth on edge.
I wanted to see the silver nose cone, and pulsated flashing lights. But the 21st century style arrangement is awfully cool!👍
この、時代に、してわ、最高の、出来です。🎉
Never thought anyone would get around to doing a video like this. The opening launch sequence is a fond childhood memory. Kudos to you Neil! 😎👍
Thanks
Any reason for the lack of the nose cone…?? Apart from that, very impressive!!👍👍👍
you forgot the crew and the nose cone
One day soon, I’ll be 3d printing zero x from Thunderbirds are Go and Skyship One from Thunderbird 6. But I’m just starting 3d printing as a beginner.
Good luck fitting a landing gear inside a turbojet engine.
I love the usage of the Microgramma / Eurostile font, the same way as in the film. Great attention to detail.
Thank you. Yes I went with Microgramma - I have always loved that font. And its just so Gerry Anderson / Derek Meddings et al.
The only missing is the heatshield nose that covers the nose of the rocket
Seriously excellent work. I remember about 53 years ago (or so) watching the original for the first time sitting with my sister and cousins and being completely enthralled! Bravo!
Out of all the Gerry Anderson inventions the Zero X craft was always one of my favourites. If there were engines powerfull enough it would actually really fly! I wonder if Elon's seen this!
Nose cone?
WOW.
I have to wonder if it could or should dock with another long range propulsion unit as it has a long way to get to mars on one body and no extra fuel docked too it - but maybe those Nuclear Rocket engines are just that good ? If It was me designing it now I'd have it deploy a 2km solar sail and get pushed on its way by a pulse laser assistance too.
この映画の失敗の原因は、間に不要なシーンが多すぎた。火星到着後のギミックが何もない。地球帰還がサンダーバードの活躍によって成功すべきだった。
bloody awsome!!!!
Excellent job Sir....
We even get a Skyship Two!
Bedankt
Thank you Florian. And you are the first to give me a Superthanks. So a super thank you to you too. There is more Zero X coming and we will get to Mars.
So much work! Fantastic 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This is absolutely incredible! Well done!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This is pure animation genius. Thank you for making this. 👍
Thanks for that. I'm delighted you like the work. There is more coming - though it takes a while to make. Keep tuning in.
Amazing reimagining! It always kinda annoyed me how the hangers in the original were just big enough and couldn’t have fit cranes and construction equipment. Definitely prefer the huge buildings here. Definitely over complex, in a good way! I love how the Zero-X was assembled. F.A.B.
これは… 言葉にできない 凄い デザインや音楽、効果音はそのままにしてくださった事にも感謝したいです。 本当に素晴らしい!
Awesome work. Some real 'wow' camera angles during launch, and I love your assembly machines: very Andersonesque but also look like credible modern robotics. I love such things, and this *is* for me. Thank you!
Thanks Rob, I appreciate the support and am glad you like it. More Zero X in the works so keep an eye out.
I'm of two minds about you removing the nosecone from this. One part says that, since it as jettisoned almost immediately, then there was no real point to it so I'm okay with you dumping it entirely. The other half makes me think that without it, there's something missing from the overall look to the ship. Also, it seems like it could have had a serious purpose, acting as a "cow catcher" against meteors in space that the Zero X might encounter, but that doesn't seem to have occurred to the original THUNDERBIRDS production team so never mind.
