3rd Quarter Quell from The Yarn Whisperer
This year, Kitey of @the_yarnwhisperer is dyeing up yarn inspired by the books and movies of the Hunger Games series, with the second installment/Quarter Quell inspired by 'Catching Fire'.
Yarn colours are named as follows:
The Lightening Tree 100g and Plutarch Heavensbee 20g
The Cornicopia 100g and Effie's butterflies 20g
Arena '75 100g and Tribute Jumpsuit 20g
All on 4ply Corriedale sock 80/20
www.yarnwhisperer.co.uk/
I'm wondering if I'll be able to put them altogether in their own project or whether I will be able to find something super pretty to work them up individually for, whether knit or crochet. If you have any ideas, please do pop them in the comments for me.

Love watching crochet related podcasts, I’m currently editing my 2nd crochet podcast but was watching your podcast whilst tagging some crochet hats for a Christmas craft fair I’ve got on Saturday 😄
I absolutely love watching crochet and yarny podcasts! I have started watching more cross stitch related ones too and am so inspired to continue with some more of my languishing WIPs (I have a fair few cross stitch projects either part started or already kitted up and ready to go). Good luck with your Christmas Craft fair! I'm waiting to hear back from one of the lcoal markets here to see if they have space for me over the festive period. Looking forward to seeing your next podcast!

Thank you so much for subscribing, and welcome to the channel. Thank you for your lovely comment and dedication to watching the last year! WOW! I hope you continue to enjoy my content :)
I only received my kit for this CAL on Saturday and started it yesterday. Right now I'm about to start the last couple of round in the ladybird color. I'm loving the pattern so far but I've never used Sirdar bonus DK (I live in Germany and cannot find that brand at the stores) and find that it smells very chemical. All of my blanket are made with acryl yarn but the brands I've used so far never smelled so much like plastic/petroleum. Can someone confirm if that is normal? I'm looking forward to finishing the blanket and being able to soak it in some nice smelling soap.
Yay for the kit arriving and being able to make a start! I have used the Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK in the coronation blanket last year and didn't notice a smell. It smells of washing detergent now even though it hasn't actually been washed and blocked... When I started the Ginigerbread CAL i thought I could smell damp in my room but not sure if it's the yarn or my room haha, I guess time will tell...
Looks good I still haven’t started it yet! Need to get my act together
I had to set myself time out from other things to work on it but so glad I did. The first part didn't take long to do and everyone works at their own pace too :)
I am, too! 🧶
I hope you are enjoying the CAL x
I’m making this one too.
I hope you are enjoying the CAL x
I’m yet to start week 1 of the gingerbread blanket CAL, but I’ve just finished my 2 back to back night shifts, so I can get started over the next few days hopefully! Love how you crochet, it looks like you’re knitting but with a crochet hook 😆
@@Samrayner88 lol glad you'll be able to get some crocheting time in now after work. Thank you, my nan taught me and she knit more than crocheted so I picked it up the same way I guess. It may not be conventional but it works for me 😁 and I get a decent tension too (if I hold my yarn then conventional way then my tension is too tight)
What the story behind all the Lego pumpkins? They are amazing xx
I think it's just something that they do in Paisley to bring people out to the town. There was a dinosaur trail over the summer too but I missed it as I think it ended in July.
I will a;so be joining in on this CAL! I purchased my pack from the knitting and stitching show and the designer (Lindsey from lottie & Albert) sold it to me 😄 it was the last one in the wire basket, so it was meant to be I think 😂 I’ve just started a TH-cam channel about crochet and just uploading my stitching show vlog 🎉
@@Samrayner88 oh it was definitely meant to be then! I met Lindsey a few years ago at the knitting & stitching show I think when she launched Curate, she really is very sweet.
