    Do you find knapweed will dominate an area if left to self seed? I'm in Canada and they seem to have an allelopathic affect on the meadow grasses. My meadow is almost ALL knapweed now:(

    I love the hibernaculum idea. I have been piling rocks up into little clusters as I try and get rid of them from my soil. I'm going to try and build a hibernaculum out of them!

    I've been searching far and wide for practical, sustainable ideas for providing shelter to wildlife. Finally I've found good information! Most other videos just explain *that* you need shelter, but this actually explains *how* to provide shelter. Thank you!

    Another really excellent video. How about your next video on nest boxes and bat boxes? Another is on a wildlife pond and the importance for a garden Please keep these coming, they are so educational. The more of use who turn our green mown lawn deserts into wildlife focus areas, benefits not only the wildlife but ourselves as there is so much activity to watch and observe.

    Great video and you make it look easy. I would like to know, How tall can one make the truck. Is there a maximum height? I want to get one of these for my yard and I would like it to grow to between 15 and 20 ft (overall height) and I want a truck about six feet. Will the weight to the top be a hinderance to a truck of that height? Thank you.

    I did enjoy this video and am glad to see moths mentioned for a change. I have a three quarter acre field/garden and I have to say cutting grass at the height shown in your video is difficult with an ordinary mower. The grass needs to be bone dry. My local farmer has, in the past, agreed to cut it for me but would not collect it up. The result was I had to rake it up by hand - very hard work. The bits I did not collect properly resulted in thatch and the following year’s grass grew from the thatch not from underneath it - from the soil. I was therefore pulling it up like carpet. For me the only way now is to grow yellow rattle, daisies and other seed in trays and plant out as plugs.

    I keep hearing conflicting advice about whether to build a log pile near growing plants, I only have a small garden & want to create a log pile in the corner of the garden but there's a growing viburnum tinus spirit nearby, will it be ok to have a log pile near living plants?

    • @pansepot1490

      Perfectly fine. In nature dead wood is commonly found under trees and shrubs.

    • @debbiehenri345
      @debbiehenri345 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the logs are of healthy wood, they should be fine. The things to look out for are Honey Fungus and Coral Spot (the latter occurs on brushwood rather than logs).
