From a psychological standpoint ... I find it very interesting that about 95% of these cats can sense that something is going on with the toasters before the whole jump-scare event. They investigate and look inquisitively at these devices knowing something is going on even though there is no movement from them. They can sense the heat, obviously, but they know something else is occurring to keep them focused enough for the jump-scare to work.
