You forgot about supportive housing. Supportive housing does find an apartment for you but you have to be eligible for it. You have to have mental issues. Supportive housing has new buildings they have washer and dryers and they have one bedroom and studios. Is best to apply for supportive housing right when you get in a shelter.

Rent based on income is ridiculous. It’ll never work. It will all go to sh!t as always. I would never live in a building like this. Anyone that pays full price for these units are out of their minds! Especially with neighbors like these!

You are helping me big time, living in Queens till my lease is up in March. Haven’t had an income since May 2023 bc of disability. On top of it I’m a felon so even when I do get disability checks approved, it’s gonna be hard to rent. I’ve gotten lucky so far finding places and having people sign for me, but now my savings is down to nothing so I can’t stay here long. Thank you again for this video fr. I hope I can stay in queens but if they ship me to another borough, it is what it is, &I’m gonna have to accept it. Let go and let God

I already have an active foodstamp case, active Medicaid case, I been applied for housing which I’m on the waiting list still, and also working pt Thanks so much again for your story, it’s giving me that much more motivation 😉Congratulations on your apartment!!!!
