    So what do I do when it keeps shutting off and back on on the 2.4 WiFi all the time and has problems with the genie app connection , so many people have this problem

      I haven't had this problem with the router. I have had to restart it some but only after a few months of use. Honestly, this has been a great router for what I use it for and that sucks that you've had those issues with it. The only thing I would recommend is talking to Netgear.

      Cliff Gore tried that and then they said it was something with Comcast and I talked to Comcast and they said it was something with netgear I’m so clueless

      @@ericba1802 at one point in having this router, it did start to have issues but it wasn't the router it was the internet. I called my ISP and they gave me the same advice as Comcast gave you. I had to call and complain numerous times to the ISP before they would do anything. They finally sent out a technician and the technician discovered that the issue was the internet. The technician had to recalibrate the box on the pole outside to get it to work. But this was after the tech coming out numerous times and doing diagnostic tests.

      Cliff Gore they fixed it once, it was a tedious process. Next month problem came back. This is probably Comcast’s fault so do they make you pay for the fix?

      @@ericba1802 They shouldn't, at least my ISP didn't. The reason they don't like working with 3rd party routers is because they are 3rd party and they can't make money off of you renting their router to use your internet.

    Thanks for wasting our time. You told us absolutely nothing we couldn't have read for ourselves on any spec page for the router. I have this exact router, and its the biggest piece of shit I have ever owned. The Wifi constantly fails, even the ethernet has quite many times. I have about 10 wireless devices connected, a 50ft cable to a network switch, and 5 devices running from that switch, along with a 150ft buried cable to another building. This POS constantly quites, the famous reset is the slowest I've ever seen. 10 minutes for the dam thing to reconnect. I have 100mbps down 10 up, when the router works everything is fine, then BAM I'm fucked with no wireless. Its cant handle any real loading. I swear my old Linksys wrt wireless g was more reliable.

      hgffrank oh man that sucks. Im sorry thats happening for you. Ive had some of the same issues with this router. But it turned out to be an issue with my ISP.

      cant post screenshots here, but looking at my Cable connection information in router, I'm seeing 110 to 400 correctables codeword errors on all 16 channels, and 66 to 1305 uncorrectable errors on all 16 channels. Maybe thats causing problems, I dont really know. I've been scouring the interweb for any information. Would love to install dd-wrt firmware, but its not compatible with combo modem/routers...This was not a cheap router and should work better than this. I've had the cable company on site twice already troubleshooting connection problems, last time they blamed a line 2 blocks away......after all this I dont think I'll ever buy another Netgear router, and 100% sure I'll never buy another combo.

      hgffrank i totally agree that this was an expensive router. I would call your ISP to see of there is anything on their end causing this. Just letting you know because it is a third party router they will try and say its your router first, which it may be, but try and get a technician out to check the lines. If the problem continues to happen keep getting them out there until they rule out everything. Its a pain i tbe butt but it will rule out either your connection to the internet or the router

    Hey i have had this for about 5 months it kicks off when it wants to and now not working calling for support just being told to by a service plan i didn't touch this thing no outages they stated i need to change the settings why they have not been touched just plugged in and that is it

      Every so often it is best to restart your router. I hate that you are having issues with this router. I have had some issues in the past but nothing too much that a quick reset couldn't handle.

    This thing is complete shit. If you game it will disconnect you for 5 seconds and you'll have to reload and than just get disconnected 15 minutes later

      I have had this one since like 2016, so if you live out in an area where lets say ISP really do not care about people. Like Cameron Texas or something like that you will have internet that is crap. Like I did when I lived there for a while. Way out and only one ISP and it was trash. Anyway things you can do is check your current config. Ensure your Firmware is up to date. Ensure that your network is not throttled by the ISP as some have really low caps and change it on their customers without telling them. Or sending you a letter like 6 months late... Yeah im lookin at you COMCAST...

    A Gateway device is never the perfect answer if your a more than average user. One of the better ones out there, but use that with me using the internet and it will drive you up the wall with no QoS
