Ridgewalk: My next plug-in
มุมมอง 1.1K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
I'm officially announcing my next plug-in: Ridgewalk ⛰️⛰️ Ridgewalk is a looper, but it's in an orthogonal dimension to my first plug-in, Weeping Wall. Where Weeping Wall captures many individual snippets of sound, Ridgewalk will let you navigate and explore the contents of a single buffer. That buffer can be recorded to, overdubbed over, and reverted to a previous version. Ridgewalk employs a ...

Weeping Wall demo - Piano
มุมมอง 890ปีที่แล้ว
Another quick demo of my first plug-in, Weeping Wall, adding ambience and space to a simple piano performance. This clip really epitomizes what WW is to me - an atmosphere generator, that stays fresh and relevant to what you throw at it. I'm using WW as a send effect here, and putting the result into Big Sky as well for reverb. Weeping Wall is a set of desynchronized microloopers built to creat...

Brilliant! 'nuff said. ✊
Trial/demo available before I buy this?
Hi! Yes, there's a trial available for desktop. You can find the link in the product listing for Weeping Wall
If Chase Bliss made a pedal version of this, they’d charge $400 for it. 😂
6 bucks for my 2 favorite modules in one. Beads and Morphagene!!! And it’s got its own uniqueness as well. You rock dude!
Demo fade out is definitely Too short to appreciate or judge your plug in.
Thanks for the update!
Great video and great apps! Newbie question: On Ios Ipad can both of your apps be used together, outside AUM?
Thank you! I believe apps can somehow be chained via audio sharing when running in standalone mode, but to be honest I'm not totally sure how to accomplish that. I would typically recommend using them in a host like AUM, Audiobus, etc. if you want to use them together.
Nice apps...conceptual, artsitically and design... canot wait for your next one!
How could I use it with Ridgewalk? Can you help us please :)
OMG, why are your apps flying under the radar! Just discovered your beautiful music and your brilliant apps. Instant buy! Keep up the great work!
Nice one bro
Just grabbed your bundle and I cant wait to dig into Ridgewalk/Weeping Wall!
What’s the piano patch from, Noire?
@@MachineSequence I believe it’s Pia.no by my friend Blankfor.ms!
Sophisticated Fun ❤ 🔥 ✨️
Ah, i dream of a tapeloop style plugin like this, having several "tapeloops" that you can record on to independently, and control them in tapebstyle, slowing or speeding, reversing etc😊
This is great, will buy now, suggestion for an update or v2 or whatever, having individual looper controls would be grand, like, being able to reverse a specific looper instead of all at once, just a suggestion.❤
You are brilliant man. I can’t wait to score both ridgewalk and weeping wall. More than a looper, a literal soundscape
That's a ridiculously awesome Eurorack wall. Kudos.
This looks and sounds very nice... Any updates... Are we there yet? 😊
Yes, it's released! You can find links from my profile or from the video manual on my channel
@@AqeelAadam thank you.. Ah.. Somehow I missed... Great work.. Soon buying this gem ❤️
this is amazing
sounds great, can you record everything you do with the app as wav?
@@fumarolas unfortunately there’s no built in way to do this since most DAWs allow for bouncing, freezing tracks, etc
@@AqeelAadam thanks, I meant in the IOS version sorry
Superb update, thank you. I used Weeping Wall and Ridgewalk for the first time today. Just put WW after R on AUM track and messed about with the various settings. Sounds great just noodling about on a guitar, but so many tweaks to explore for a wide range of sonic possibilities. Outstanding plugins!
thanks so much! Glad you were enjoying and love hearing the plugs get used on physical instruments too :)
Thank you for your wonderful products. I would like to purchase Ridgewalk and Weeping Wall together. Are you considering any discounts?
thanks for your interest! There's a bundle on iOS, and there *will* be a bundle on Ridgewalk once the launch discount is done. What you can do right now on Gumroad is add Ridgewalk to your cart, and you should have the option to add Weeping Wall as well at a discounted rate
love it
Finally got RW on iOS and i got a say it’s really good! A lot of fun and different concepts that the normal looper. Digging your apps and hope you continue to create iOS apps! I know the iOS community can be a lil rough sometimes but it’s all in good love hehe! Thanks for making this one man its a blast
thanks a lot!! The iOS community is great haha. I come from a hardware background with nice little pocket communities, which I wasn't really finding with desktop plugins but definitely found in the iOS world!
This is such a cool idea, I do use paulstretch and Ribs from time to time, what I don't understand is how it works in daw, because I get how you can import audio into it and mess around with it, but in daw there are a lot of important things to consider as well - Syncing play to the daw playing - Having it capture in real time (and also applying the affect as it happens) - Not being limited to 4 bar loops (meaning much longer ones or perhaps different time signatures) What would make me instantly buy this is if it would work like reverb but apply granular effects as it goes So I would appreciate if you could explain better what this does, and perhaps even a demo of using it with an actual song, I think it would definitely show its true potential
hey there, sorry if things weren't clear from this video, but Ridgewalk is capable of all of the things you listed! - Ridgewalk can sync to your DAW's transport. Playback and recording can be synced, and you can clock the buffer size, looper size, and traversal speed - Ridgewalk captures audio and will start the granular effect as soon as possible (i.e. as soon as the recording is longer than the requested looper size) - Ridgewalk's buffer can go up to 16 bars long or 60 seconds I'm going to link the text manual in the description of this video as well, maybe that'll help clarify some things too!
@@AqeelAadam Thanks a lot for the response, could you perhaps to a deal of buying 2 of your plugins with a cheaper price together? it's called gumroad bundle and I saw that the other plugin you made is incredible too
@@elzurixmusic you’re welcome - I’m going to make a bundle after the initial launch discount is through. Currently when you go to checkout purchasing Ridgewalk, you should be offered Weeping Wall at a discounted price. If that doesn’t show up please shoot me an email and I’ll sort it out! aqeelaadammusic@gmail.com
This is absolutely one of the best demo videos I've ever watched! You really have a gift for software, *and* explanation, and that's rare! Keep up the good work! (Oh yeah, Ridgewalk is pretty cool too 🙂).
@@chris_st ah thanks so much! I can’t say I’m ever excited to get behind the mic so that means a lot lol
Another video showed this crashing. I’d like to check it out but is the sale going on for a bit, until there’s a stable release?
@@thomasfokas hey there, yeah I’m aware of some stability issues and I’m working through them as quickly as I can (taking a break from work to reply right now actually :) That’s a great idea though, I think I will extend the initial discount til there’s good confidence in the stability
@@AqeelAadam thank you for the quick reply as well as the update, and extending
I love this plugin! super inspiring!
That audio buffer section is brilliant and soubds amazing, although I think it would be helpful to have a setting where it overwrites the previous layer instead of overdubbing, as sometimes less is more. Great plugin though, and with a beautiful interface. Might have to pick up a copy.
@@DeadzoneMusic oh! You can turn off overdubbing completely so that each layer is a totally new recording. I guess I forgot to mention in here 😓 there’s a lot going on haha
@@AqeelAadam Ah that's excellent! Can't wait to try it out
@@AqeelAadam Ah one more question- can you bypass the looper and have the plugin just pass the live audio through the effect?
@@DeadzoneMusic sort of! What you could do instead is to use the classic recoding mode, and leave it recording infinitely, with no overdubbing. This will essentially turn Ridgewalk into a live delay line which then gets fed into the algorithm, sort of like Mutable Clouds or Beads if you’re familiar
@@AqeelAadam Do I understand correctly that this would be done by setting Feedback to zero? (Amazing plugin, BTW!)
This is a great app. My first few minutes of experimentation suggest that it can do things with sound unlike any other iOS app I've got. Great work.
Thank you
Another winner👏
Aqeel drops a plugin …money leaves my account 😑 happy sound skywalking ensues
Really nice app. Wondering if it will be possible to have different layers playing mode like reverse and pitch? Maybe an update :) Good job anyways
Definitely an interesting thought! For now all I can say is stay tuned...
@@AqeelAadam yeah cool the looper addition system on weeping wall is great and guess will safe room in the ui
This is so cool. Definitely interested in using it as sort of a random accompanist to what I’m playing improvisation into it! Kind of wish that the pitch feature was not universal but worked on a per loop basis, so that could be used to create some interesting harmony. Also, it would be great if there was a multi-channel feature so that the various loops could be sent to different channels and further processed or just panned to different aspects of the stereo spectrum. Would be a very cool feature for a future update or something to consider adding in your next instrument. Thank you so much for your hard work and I’m definitely gonna use the heck out of this! ❤
@@Apuat thanks so much! I looked into the multi channel thing at some point and the TLDR is that it’s really hard for AUs, but totally possible for VSTs, and it didn’t sit right with me to charge the same amount for people getting different experiences and features, but it’s an idea I’ve been sitting with for a bit. Regarding multiple pitches… stay tuned? 😉
Nice 👍 love your iOS apps
It’s beautiful ❤️
Lovely! Just came across weeping wall recently and now this! I may be selling my microcosm pedal, this is way more intuitive and hands on in my opinion.
Just bought it, sounds amazing!
Great app! One thing that I noticed on the iOS version is we need to be able to turn the Mic off. Particularly when importing a file. Otherwise you hear your voice and other background noise coming in. Is this possible?
@@bjamminsincebirth3494 sorry about that! I will table that for a future update. You should be able to leave the audio input muted when loading a file. You can also drop the dry volume to minimum if you’re not using it
This looks great man! Love the gui and nature scene. Would be kinda cool to have different scenes in the background. I’m looking forward to giving this a try! Will be great to put a few delay effects and stuff after it in aum as well. Great stuff!
Hi, I was waiting for an introductory price and for the bundle as announced but there is no sign of it
@@AldoFurioso hey there, there should be an introductory price for the desktop version via the link in the description, and a bundle available at checkout. On iOS, there is a bundle currently processing, it will be available whenever the App Store decides :)
I have now read the email. thanks
yaaaay! big day:) finally here.
Love that you are bringing these very modular type fx to the iPad! Thanks so much!
👏
I love it.. the sound is really mellow, very organic. I'm waiting for iOS version!
So excited!
