Mark in Adelaide I've sat with Bill Collins , Bruce macavaney, Bert Day, Ray Feelings,reon Murtha, Bryan Martin I'm not a punter love all codes and race calling not a critic but like to offer considered comment Darren Macaulay rarely calls a meeting where by his style of talking reoetitively long past post watch replays to verify does he accurately call placings correctly he is not reliable in photos hasn't been for years instinct average at best railway was horrendous byany measure he must realise it was his reflexes that were non existent and sorry by dubbing it later well how pathetic he did own it first a credit but to recall if not gutless next door to it Darren Macaulay if many of his calls really listen closely to lovely voice but I've long said nicely everything his late revered max Simmonds wasn't I believe Max in top 7 callers in my 61, years just eg CB Cox Stakes 8was it horse fall early 2000s Darren Macaulay named 2horses even post race that. fell no follow up I well remember Max Simmons named all bar one in call, Darren has WA Derby couple badly botched photos,I recall a challenge stakes he called horse,s sire whole way I visited Belmont 2001saw guineas shot of thunder won nose by nose Max Simmons unerringly called I walking off course only to hear Darren on radio still flummoxing over placings so not personal but a truthful analysis ànd many more that make Darren Macaulay so unreliable don't take my word just realistic listen over long period if he is best in land we do have dearth or talent I do understand difficulty of vocation and don't critique callers but Saturday had to as this man sadly so inaccurate for so long this as bad a . mistake from highly experienced caller as we've ever heard in major feature had to make measured comment at his age Im fearful for I assume a decent man may not be his last and no-one wants him to endure too many.more that's sincerely expressed time to enjoy more reds relaxation give it thought please Darren thanks for your time
