Personally I love the tented angle, but I really wonder how much I would like a steeper tent angle. *The force break could be better, but for the alphas it did get better, mods, not at all. I think the mic does pick up on the resonance more than my ears so watching it back sounds not as different as I had thought. Gonna eventually try to make it better, just didn't want to try and cut very thin...

Arc60 Sound Tests - Alu vs PP Plate x5 switches
Nice comparison but all the switches are too clacky for my taste. I'm using a Nuphy Halo75 with silent reds and mmm mmmm m mmmmmmmmmmm no clack. Just a hint of thock :)
tbf its a clacky board. there's not much of a low end sound here compared to most other boards I think. Some will like that, some won't, its all preference :)
i still need F row :(
This is like if Keycult did Instock keyboards
Does force break help with the acoustics of the Mode Sonnet? Never seen anyone do that before.
It helps a lot. It might be because I was using the alu plate without the silicone tabs, but it sounded really pingy before i taped every surface between the top and bottom case. Made a bigger difference than the copper weight did
Alu plate sounds super clacky, very solid sounding board for the price
What happened to the finger
the something something logistics comment killed me! So cool to see something like this available in stock at this price point! Honestly for those wanting top mount and not concerned about the lack of layout options, this seems like an easy pick over the Sonnet (and I say this as a 2022 Sonnet owner who just picked up a PC bottom).
Oh yea, I would definitely take this over the sonnet. The Sonnet is nice, and I like mine, but the price just doesn’t make sense to me
Haven't seen someone go with reds over blacks before. Sounds great.
Yea, I’m 90% sure they’re the same things just with lighter springs. I’m not picky about springs so long as they aren’t noisy and under 70g, so I don’t mind them. So I save like $10 not buying extra springs to replace lol
immaculate
No u
NOTICE!! Yes it has low profile v2 switches which means no switch variety right? WRONG, so my m13 has the v2 reds right, and what I did was order some kailh low profile v1 purples. I took the spring from the purples and measured that the springs in v1 switches are the exact same length as the springs in v2 switches. The purple switch springs are 25 grams actuation (way lighter) and I put them in my v2 red switches and they feel exactly like how the v1 purples feel. I opened the switches using some tweezers and it was honestly really easy to mod. I highly recommend it!! I guess it would work for heavier springs, not sure about tactical or clicky switches but I can confirm it works with linear.
Snow Crash Gud
sounds great! MX2A reds, especially
GADAMN these sound nice
I hate that spacebar sound of the Sonnet XD. But the alphas sound great!
Lol yea. Its not great. It needs a lot of foam to sound better.
In your opinion, which is better between oring and gasket for no foam build ?
I personally liked the gasket beans better
Great comparison! I was one of those original snowcrash buyers, definitely impressed by the 2nd batch and Unikeys service! That Polished WKL top Arc60 is an absolute stunner!!
Exactly the comparison I was looking for! I was deciding on going for the lubed, filmed and spring swapped Cherry MX Blacks from UniKeys or the Snow Crashes for my Neo Ergo. Ended up just ordering both and then putting the second set in one of my other keyboards
Haha it might not exactly be the classic cherry sound, but I think anything I’d put mx blacks in I’d rather put in snow crashes now
@@arpeykeys Hmmm well I'll just have to try and see what I like best in my Neo Ergo hahah. I'm currently using HMX Canglan V2's, but I want a higher pitched/thinner sound. I went for the MX1A instead of the MX2A cause the guy from UniKeys told me the MX1A sounds a bit thinner. He did recommend to me the Snow Crashes as well so I just went for both hahah
lots of cool and wild stuff there, kudos to a lot of mindblowingly creative folks! Thanks for recording / sharing!
This was a fun one to watch! Great board tour! Thanks for sharing with those of us who couldn't make it!
Been waiting for these to come back in stock. I'm going to grab one to use for my rackmount stuff so I'm not too worried about how it sounds, it's going to be replacing another 'budget' tkl I got a few years ago that is starting to have PCB issues. Thanks for the quick review.
Keycap set name, sir?

what a great coverage! well donE!
noice, i missed the gb though
2:14 Is that oyster board with copper keycaps? That was so SICKKKK
I guess this is the Copper Eagle by Awekeys.
Yup, its the awekeys set. Dunno if these released yet or if this was a review set
great job, i enjoyed going through all the boards while sipping my morning coffee this am
how easily do the roller balls fall out if you open up the switches?
They don’t lol
thank you for your harrd work! Really enjoy your video style!
Nice vid mate
Thanks!
I've had bone dry switches that were smoother than these.
Cool
does the brass really bring so much better sound compared to the stainless steel weight or battery cover?
I think the weight just helps make the sound slightly fuller and helps with resonance. I don’t think the stainless weight will sound different from the brass weights. I’ve heard the cover makes more of a difference sound wise with the brass sounding deeper than the stainless steel cover. Someone with a unit from the china gb was talking about it in the clickclack discord. But I believe blacksimon had both stainless steel and brass covers to compare. You can find his vods on youtube
Should I choose hotswap pcb or solder pcb, is solder pcb much better than hotswap pcb? Thank you
Solder is mostly just if there’s a specific layout you want thats not offered on the hotswap pcb. There isn’t really a difference in feel or sound
@@arpeykeys thank you i see that i only need the basic tkl layout so i will decide on hotswap thank you for the advice :)

wow, that’s an awfully thorough number of sound tests for a “quick” review! Seems like a very impressive board, especially for the price point! Great to see ever increasing competition in the more budget space
what are your keycaps
Gmk lavender (rabenda)
Because of your video, I went and bought the wrist rest. Thanks!!
Hey there, was wondering what the semi transparent pink keycap set on the 60% is, and where you got it? Great video btw, keep up the great content!
Thanks! They’re Domikey great artist lotus, the clear base kit. I believe I got these from swagkeys or whoever the korean vendor was for them.
Thanks for the shoutout to our video! The Neo Ergo looks great for that price... our biggest gripe is that we bought it over a month to try it our ourselves and it hasn't shipped yet 😅 Regarding ergonomics, we recommend a fully split keyboard like the Dygma Raise or Defy, but this one is a step in the right direction 😊
haha yea, waiting is part of the hobby unfortunately. Didn't realize you guys sold split boards as well, but I'll definitely keep you guys in mind when I eventually want to try one!
@@arpeykeys Hehehe yes! We are an ergonomic keyboard company; the TH-cam channel is a sidegig to educate the world on the benefits of ergo keyboards 😊
them explanation shots like the bounce demonstration do not go unappreciated. nice vid
Great review! I've been wanting a tented Alice for some time, but so many are incredibly expensive and I didn't want to risk it if I didn't like the layout. I recently got the Neo Ergo and was pleasantly surprised how quickly I adjusted to it, though now wonder how a larger angled tent would be. I loved how easy it was to build since there were no screws, wires, or ribbon cables thanks to the magnetic daughterboard and ball-catch chassis.
Truly the breaking bad keyboard
This color combination is sick! ❤ great video. Is there a way to turn off the LED?
Thanks! Yea you can turn off the LEDs in via. QK actually recommends it for plateless builds on their info page lol
@@arpeykeys awesome, thank you. Is that GMK Mizu?
Gmk Oni actually
@@arpeykeys it’s gorgeous
By default you can toggle the LEDs with function + Z. It goes from all LEDs on -> corner LEDs on only -> spacer LEDs on only -> all LEDs off.
appreciate the review and the discussion on ergonomics! A plateless tented alice is a really sick combo! I tried an arisu layout for a bit, it was cool, didn’t feel too revolutionary for me, but maybe some day I’ll have to try a split board. I’d really like to see split keyboard with a gummy o ring style mounting.
yea, split tented is something I've always wanted to try but I just never committed to buying one over a regular board lol
@@arpeykeys yeah, feel like when I can get a full kit (case+PCB) for $50 then I’d be willing to go for it, but I just haven’t sen anything that cheap myself
