this is just what I was looking for! my 5 month old greyhound loves to stalk and chase the toy and pounce but I'm having trouble getting the toy off the ground, I don't present it right so he can't get a grip

Do you teach your students to lure their dogs, or do you exclusively stick to shaping?

Great video love the way your feeding (awarding) your dog through the pouch. Any advice on getting the dog front paws on the touch pad? I have attempted this with a regular dog bowl, but it keeps moving. Does the touch pad have weight in order to keep it stabilized and does it need to be on grass or dirt?

I have a dotson mixed, ppl think it’s mixed with a chihuahua and other ppl think it’s mixed with another breed, anyways she has a lot of personality but she doesn’t play with toys, she’d rather just play with other dogs and cats as well as other livestock’s. She plays with a wine cork, normally just chewin it when she’s bored, the same way with her stuffed toys, she’ll play with them when she’s extremely bored. I also try to play with her with the toys but she quickly gets bored

Hello I am curious if you have something else someone can do besides walking backwards? I use a cane and physically can't walk backwards. I think walking sideways also doesn't work for me. Any suggestions?

Since you give the treats on the forward movement back to you doesn’t that reinforce that behaviour instead of the back?

What is the negative reinforcement? My dog chooses when to sit and when to not sit. For instance if I have no treats he just disregards this command 50% of the time. LOL I correct him by pulling up on his leash and pushing his butt down saying sit... then he'll do it afterwards.

Never use a flexi as a slip leash! There is always tension on the leash and especially with puppies it’s really dangerous. The only proper way to use a flexi leash is clipped on a harness. Otherwise you’re only encouraging your dog to pull on the lead because there is always tension on it.

I'm going to have to try out the foot trick! I gave up teaching my dog to back up because I couldn't figure out how to stop him from sitting.

Play is usually mock aggression. I pretend to try to steal my dog's toy, he pulls back and growls, pretending to be pissed off. Human games like chess and football are based on war -- invade and capture.

My pup is very un-interested in any way I try to play with him

Hello! I loved your video! Can you also make a video on how to teach a dog to retrieve something when you have a very very gentle dog? My service dog in training needs to learn how to retrieve medications and my phone and stuff for me, but she is just so gentle and won’t even put her mouth on things. (She’s also not very toy motivated) I know how to teach a dog it because I have taught my other dog it, I just need help with how to teach a dog it that is very gentle and not toy motivated. Can you make a video on how to get a dog to not be reactive towards other dogs? I have a service dog in training and she may have to retire early because she has recently started barking and having reactivity towards other dogs. Please please help me. You are my last hope.

How do you teach them this without a bowl thingy?

Just use a long line. Much safer and allows you to control a stronger dog much easier. Not questioning your dog training skills btw.
