    I'm considering riding Colombia soon, and I found your video doing research. Great job just going for it with so little riding experience. A tip I would give you is not to "lug" your bike. That is, don't try to accelerate in too low of a gear. Instead, shift down so you can get more torque. It's better for the engine. Really great job!

      I'm not a bike pro o specialist, but I know that any Honda and similarly popular brand you'll be able to find parts for it anywhere in South America, as well as people everywhere who can fix it. As a general rule of thumb, the simpler (not much electronics), the better!

      @daveontheroad4190 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Alejo! My back was fine again luckily after 2 weeks, and I tried to fly the bike to Panama, which wasn't possible at the time, and due to Covid the land borders were pretty complicated, so I did some traveling to Argentina and Brazil without the bike, and now I enjoy taking it on shorter trips within Colombia. Maybe some day I'll ride it down South to Chile and Argentina. Will definitely be posted on this channel ;)

      I'm glad to see that you're back on the bike! Colombia looks AMAZING!!! As much as I enjoy the riding aspect of traveling I also enjoy having a look around at Colombia. Maybe in future videos, if you have both the time and inclination, a look around from viewpoints and maybe a bit of narration and explanation of where you are and what you're looking at would be great. The countryside and small towns are amazing and beautiful, and to be absolutely honest, I've used your videos in an effort to convince my partner that we should go for a month. Maybe Colombia, maybe Mexico or Guatemala, but just go! Also, I'm glad you're wearing more gear AND! It looks like you've gained quite a bit more riding experience! And please please please!!! Keep posting!!!

      @@heropill I'm already looking at plane tickets in October for a month! I've put 2 round trips on hold with Copa Airlines and I'm looking for where I can buy a MC for reasonable cost, that has good spares support and also for gear/helmet rather than bringing my gear on the airplane $150usd each way, so 300$usd to bring my own gear plus 300 more for my partner's gear. We'd like to travel to as many places as possible, with low cost stays, maybe some tent camping, which we both love to do, etc. I need to sort out daily budget costs for food, fuel, lodging, camping, motorcycle purchase, license and insurance, etc. I can see Colombia being a place we could return to several times a year so finding a secure place to store bike and gear and things would also be an advantage. So far it looks like Bogota is the least expensive to fly in to from Los Angeles. Although we are closer to Seattle, the airfares from Seattle are several hundred dollars per person higher. In any case, everything about Colombia looks amazing. I really want to go!!!

      @daveontheroad4190 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Tae Jun. Yes, without that farmer who knows what would have happened! I drove to Bogotá shortly after that and tried to fly to Panama with the bike, and ride up to Mexico from there, but Colombian Customs didn't let me fly the bike out of the country for more than 6 months without returning back, since I'd bought the bike in Colombia and am not Colombian myself. I spent 5 days discussing with Customs, Police, and Tax Office, but it didn't help. These rules apply for Air and Sea travel, so I could have driven the bike down South, but the land borders to Peru were completely closed at the time, and there was no way through. I still have the bike in Colombia and am currently in Medellin, but the project is on hold for the moment :-)
