Delta Groove congratulates our 2018 Blues Music Award Nominees!
Please join us in congratulating Monster Mike Welch, Mike Ledbetter, John Primer and Anthony Geraci on their 2018 Blues Music Award nominations!
The Blues Foundation announced the nominees for the 39th Annual Blues Music Awards on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 with Delta Groove Music artists earning a total of 9 nominations.
Monster Mike Welch and Mike Ledbetter received a combined total of 7 nominations including Album of the Year and Traditional Blues Album (for Right Place, Right Time), Band of the Year, B.B. King Entertainer of the Year (Ledbetter), Contemporary Blues Male Artist (Ledbetter), Instrumentalist-Guitar (Welch) and Instrumentalist-Vocals (Ledbetter).
John Primer received a nomination for Traditional Blues Male Artist.
Anthony Geraci received a nomination for Instrumentalist-Pinetop Perkins Piano Player which marks his third year in a row for receiving this honor!
The 39th Annual Blues Music Awards will be presented at the Cook Convention Center in downtown Memphis, Tennessee, on Thursday, May 10, 2018. Universally recognized as the highest accolade afforded blues musicians, the Blues Music Awards upholds its rich cultural tradition by honoring the past year’s superior achievements in blues performance, songwriting, and recording. This annual ceremony represents the premier event for blues professionals, musicians, and fans around the globe.
Voting begins on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018. Anyone interested in casting a vote to decide this year’s winners may receive a ballot by joining or renewing their membership with the Blues Foundation at any time up to March 1st 2018. Membership info available here: blues.org/become-a-member/#levels

The late GREAT Finis Tasby and who knew the Kid was jacked? I do believe this was put on one of their many disks
You can find this song on the Mannish Boys' 2nd release, "Live & in Demand," which was recorded at the 19th Annual Winthrop Rhythm & Blues Festival on July 17th, 2005 in Winthrop, Washington. And for the completests out there, another version of this song recorded at the Moulin Blues Festival on May 6th, 2005 also appeared on the now out of print, limited edition CD, "Road Tested V.1," released by Delta Groove Music in 2006.
This combo of the Mannish Boys is so freaking great I just wish that Finis Tasby was still here to join in RIP Soul BrotherI would love to see these guys tour together, give me some Nappy's Driftin' Blues

Johnny Long is and has never been a sell out. He is real. He passed up record deals before because he wanted to play his music not theirs. This album sounds like John Long Blues. I want it!
It's a good one Thomas! Our focus in making this album was squarely on John and his music. It's brimming with intimate and emotionally stirring performances. A classic in the making. You won't be disappointed!
@@deltagroovemusicinc I remember John playing every week at The Skyline cafe in Denver. Hope he's well. He loved Framus guitars as I recall. He's one of the only guys I know that even knew what they were. Great Bluesman
