If you don’t have the holder to cut through the coil with your rotary tools; i put painters tape around the coil, easy to remove, no sticky residue and the rings so not fly everywhere

Looks awesome! Thermo-lock would have worked good for that while hammering . Just to make an extension so you won’t hammer on your finger by accident

That’s exactly the right kind of ringband. Most people place it on or exactly under the stone fitting. With your shank placement the ring won’t turn on your finger, that’s so annoying with a big stone. Bravo!

Lovely bezel and ring! Thank you for sharing your process with us. Much appreciated by a self-taught metalsmith such as myself. I had a few Questions- where did you position your solder for the beaded wire? Did you place the solder under the beaded wire? I didn’t see where you placing your solder in the video. My other question was did you first solder your beaded wire to the bezel wire? When you pulled the bezel out of the flux just before soldering it to the backplate, it looked like the two bezel wires were already soldered.? Perhaps they were just fitted tightly together. Thanks again it came out beautifully 😊

I use the same Sievert torch. I can highly recommend getting the adapter to use different tips for a bigger flame for bigger jobs. Fantastic work as always and thanks for sharing. Take care and have fun!
