    They look beautifull rods the freespirit ive got 6ft sawmoffs for my syndicate fishing baitboat out under overhanging willows etc and i have 10ft rods and 13ft rods and if i go to a big water where its distance casting and the 13ft rods are required it feels alien at first as it may be a year since i last used them even the feel of a 13ft rod compared to a 12ft is strange but the benefits are 100% there my mate can hit 50 wraps as though its normal with his if u stick with them u will get a good feel for them and benefit from them a lesson on technique is a great idea get the fundementals right and u are ready to go cheers tightlines

  • @beefsteak8540
    @beefsteak8540 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think the baiting strategy helps secure a good hook hold.. What I mean is what mood the fish are in on the spot your fishing. If the fish are on edge and are mouthing the odd freebie you will achieve the odd bad hook hold. You can learn a lot from surface fishing In the way fish feed and creating competition on the area your fishing. When you see the hook 3 or 4 inches back those fish are having it and must of really wanted that hookbait..

    • @DiaryOfAnAverageCarpAngler
      @DiaryOfAnAverageCarpAngler 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeh waiting pattern definitely plays a part as it does with Rig Lengh etc. A fish moving while feeding will always be easier to hook than a slow moving stationary one. But I can't prove it but in my opinion all things equal in rigs and waiting approach I feel the lock flips over quicker and catches in the moth faster than a standard wide gape just from my experience of both in the past. I might be wrong though 🤣
