HOW TO CREATE A REVERB BUS IN PRO TOOLS
มุมมอง 1743 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this brief tutorial, I am showing the steps to create a reverb bus in Pro Tools. Using reverb effects can be very cool and exciting when you apply it to sounds, vocals, or instruments. I will also share tips on using different types of reverb effects on upcoming videos.
Vocal Mic Shoot Out: Roswell Mini K47 vs JZ V67 vs Warm WA87 vs Slate ML-1 vs JZ V12
มุมมอง 9504 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video, I’m comparing 5 condenser microphones with a female vocalist. These mic descriptions range from bright, neutral, or dark sounding depending on your vocalist and song. The biggest question is which mic serves your song best? While all of this can be quite subjective, it is great to have a variety of tools to capture the sound needed for your recording. Manufacturer links are below...
Amazing video as usual. Each pair sounds great. I’m surprised how the behringers stack up considering how cheap they are!
The Behringer C-2 are a solid bang for your buck. 💯 Quite surprised with them.
Super helpful, man. Thank you! God bless.
I’m glad it was helpful. I appreciate the feedback. God bless 👍
V12 is clear and sounds natural
I agree. Not hyped up but neither dark like the V67
i just love the sound of tape,i would add a tape to the chain
Tape machine emulations are a vibe for sure. I love the compression and tone shaping you can get with tape. I’ll cover tape on a future video. Thanks for the suggestion. 🙌
is it uad
Only the compressor and eq are UAD. You can also check out the bonus options I showed towards the end with the Maag eq from PA. Plugin Alliance has excellent options as well.
Hey🎉 you are the best❤
Hey I appreciate that. Thanks for leaving a comment. All the best to you.

Welcome back! Thank you for your civil service. Glad you could have something to watch while you wait. Be safe out there.
Heyyyyyy cuzo! What’s crackin , that’s great knowledge
All good here. I had a couple requests for the things I covered in this new video. It took me a minute to finish and get up on the channel. Cuzzo I appreciate you leaving a comment.
Hey, is that Tabby again? wowwwww, she sounds amazing.
This is another artist. Her name is Amarachi Ude and has a voice like butter. 🧈
@@TheMusicRig definitely, she sounds like butter 👏👏

More videos are coming for sure. Thanks for commenting. Peace and love
Hey cuzo, first of all, let me shoutout “Tabby!!!!” great vocals, “wowwwwwww” & bravo, she has a great voice, now I like the (ML-1 mike & the vintage V-12, but the vintage 67 is nice too), her singing sounds so amazing, u guys rocked it!!
Hey cuzzo!!! You already know how music runs in the family so you got that good ear. Appreciate you fam! ✊🏾
In my opinion they all sound the same except in one of the mics it's more airy and we can hear he voice more
Thanks. I’m an unprofessional engineer but I prefer to do my throw delays this way. It feels like more control and cleaner than automation. I think I heard IRKO say this is how he does his also.
@@jermainesmith6315You are on point! There are so many ways to solve problems or enhance the feel of a song using with this method and many other techniques. For workflow, I really prefer this one but I’ll show some other approaches as well. Thanks for the comment.
One of the best reverb tips, really tastefully done. Thank you man - I just subscribed.
Thank you for subscribing and leaving a comment.
I like the second one vintage v67 not even sure why 😂
It's a vibe for sure... there are no wrong answers for this. Thanks for leaving a comment.
amazin sis
Which was your favorite for her voice in particular? Asking as a non producer. 😂
They all sound good and usable for a record. If I had to choose a favorite, it would be either the Slate ML-1 or the JZ V12.
Great Video, brother. JZ mics really killed it this time.
Great tutorial! I usually do a pre-fader send for this.
Great tip! I tend to prefer pre-fader for delays or a parallel bus.
i like the warm audio wa87 sounds really good but have You ever tried the avantone cv12 ?? if you have what you think is better the warm audio wa87 or the avantone cv12
I haven’t tried the Avantone C-12 but a few friends that have it like it. I own the Miktek CV-4 which is along the lines of that AKG C-12 sound. The top end on these tube mics are really nice. To answer your question, it depends on the music and voice that will be recorded. For pop or a really dense mix, I might lean towards a cv12.
I was surprised how much I didn’t like the slate mic. It took some of the life out of her vocals in an unexpected way. all of the others caught her voice very well. My favs were the JZ V67 and the Roswell. With the price of the Rosesell it seems like the clear winner to my ears.
i saw your mic shoot out and loved how you got your sis sounding. can you do a mix breakdown by any chance? Really sounded great
Thanks for leaving a comment and suggesting a mix breakdown video. I plan to do future videos for mixing tips so this helps me share specific things that may be helpful. 🙏
@@TheMusicRig I appreciate it and im tuning in bucko lol. Keep up the vids💯🙏🏾
Wow you have a pair of really old krk 😮
Good eye. They definitely provide mid range focus that helps me for tracking and mixing reference. 👍
I think the v12 is cool
I think so too
Hi it's your assistant
I would probably go with that jz v12! All of them sound good though.
@@southpau Seems like a favorite. What makes you more inclined to the JZ V12?
The slate is kinda rockin! But so is the jz! Not mad at the Roswell though! Tabi’s voice is so good you kinda forget about the mic.
I’ll take a good vocal any day of the week.
Very good info from a pro! Thanks for sharing!!! 🙏🏽
@@taylorgamble8341 Thanks a lot
I’m definitely not an expert on this subject, but I loved the ML-1 in every situation! It sounded warm and clean. The V12 was a close second. I think the V12 sounded the best with the processing/music! However, Tabi can sing into a tin can and make it sound good! 😂 Thanks for sharing!
You are too humble @CandraR. The ML-1 has been a go to mic for different voices for years. One of the reasons I added the V12 to the mic locker was to have a similar but different flavor to the ML-1. I’ll let “one-take” Tabi know for sure. 🤣 Thanks for leaving a comment.
The JZ V12 was best on her vocals in my opinion with the K47 in second place and JZ V67 in 3rd.
@@Only1Science Great observation! The JZ V12 tends to bring out clarity for vocals. Do you have a preferred go to mic?
@@TheMusicRig I don't own a U67 or Telefunken 251 but, those are my favorite mics. They work well with most vocals and both take eq well. Now, as far as the workhorse in my studio, believe it or not, we use an AKG C214--Neve 1073 DPA--Pro Tools. We've developed our template to work well with it and cover a variety of vocal types without breaking the bank. We have U87's, Mojave MA-200 and MA-300, Blue Kiwi and a bunch of other staple/utility mics but the C214 is universally used. That was the vocal chain used for Tee Grizzley's "First Day Out" at our studio.
Great video! Great insight 🔥🔥
@@SAVHILL Thank you. I plan to do more.
Saludos Jr. Great voice and info! Hugo
@@masquevencedores2275 Thank you Hugo. I appreciate you leaving a comment. 🙏
Thank you for the review. Is there a purchase date and production number for the v67 microphone? Can you tell? In the video it looks like 23-2073, is that correct? I purchased it a while ago and received it today, but it seems I received a defective product without a swivel mount. I would like to ask for confirmation.
The JZ V67 mic was purchased in September of this year.
The v12 covers the softer notes while the v67 handles the lower register better... both!😊
I like how you describe them. Thanks for watching.
@TheMusicRig hey my brother, this is Elder Johnson👍🏽
@@alanjohnson7559 Hello Elder Johnson! Thanks for chiming in. ✊🏾
The first one sounds clearer to me.
Great observation. Thanks for watching and chiming in!
V12 brighter sound but the 67 covers the darker lower tones a little bit better for me I can’t choose so I’m going with both 😅 🤷🏽♂️
You are spot on with your observation. This is actually why I considered getting both mics for vocals and instruments that fall on that dark heavier tone or super raspy/bright timbre.
I prefer the V12🤗
Thanks for lending your vocals for this shoot out. Your voice is so smooth. 🙏
The voice! Wow 🥰
You may recognize Tabi’s voice on this @ogunsan. She was nice enough to do vocals for other mics we tried as well. More to come…
I prefer the v12!
Another bump for V12. 👌
I have no clue
Sometimes it’s so close… Thanks for chiming in.
I’m feeling the V12!
Me too. Thanks for watching
I think I like the v12 just a TAD more! Seems maybe a little warmer? They both sound great tho!
I agree. They both sound great. The V12 has been a favorite for studio recording. Thanks for sharing your preference. 👍
Honestly I can distinguish between the both models sorry my friend.
They definitely share some of the same characteristics. It certainly helps to playback on headphones or a good pair of speakers to catch nuances. Thanks for the comment friend.
