I use what I call "Soccer Analogy" to explain the difference between tribalism and racism emotions. When one soccer team loses to another in a game, the players and their supporters may feel said but they never rule out the possibility of winning against the opposing team in future games. That is the kind of emotion generated by tribalism. The kind of emotion generated by racism and the perception of it is based on the feeling that the losing soccer team in a game has no chance of winning in future games.
