Man, you do some good break downs. I agree with saze being able to return vin and ell, but i have a feeling vin would have been something thst would have interfeared with his vision. Cause with what ive seen so far (havnt read the w&t stuff yet,) and while i pray im wrong, i feel like kel might end up a baddy in the end. Which sadens me, as hes kinda my hero, despite the phyc flaws that seem to be sending him in that direction.

You see when Kaladin thinks of him, in key moments, how profound that influence was Also, Kaladin becoming Roshar’s leading therapist, while the most powerful people are ancient and losing their minds. It feels like foreshadowing for his further influence

Big one for me has always been what if Wistiow had lived a little while longer and Lirin had managed to send Kaladin to Kharbranth for surgery training. He had the Syl connection even when he was young. It hadn't started to manifest yet, but syl says it was there. Would he have stumbled across Taravangian's death rattle research? Would he be better mentally without going through the hell he did as a soldier and everything after? Would Roshone have been sent somewhere else and tien still be alive? And thats not even mentioning the knock on effect at the plains. Bridge 4 never comes to be. No one's there to save Dalinar and Adolin. Would Odium have had to take different actions to preserve Dalinar as his champion/general? So much alters completely depending on wether Kal takes the path of the surgeon or the soldier, and it makes most of the higher schemer's plans completely fall apart

My biggest Cosmere what ifs are What if Vin had kept the power from the Well of Ascension? What if Razshek had been able to use the Well of Ascension for a second time? What if the Recreance had never occurred? What if Kaladin had managed to achieve the fourth ideal in Oathbringer? Also, I wonder if a Nahel Bond could be forged with Sja Anat and if thet bond would make someone a Bondsmith.

Dami is probably a friend write-in character. It reminds me a lot of when Stargyle the Edgedancer was introduced in Book 4, surrounded by friends and fully relegated to a place of glorious side characterness. Stargyle is Steven Argyle, one of the more recent influential Sanderson artists.

The entire Kaladin/Shallan/Adolin Kholinar arc is one butterfly effect after another in Oathbringer. What if Shallan didn't choose to try to go to Kholinar? What if Elhokar chose someone else? What if Shallan listened to Sja-Anat at the Oathgate? What if Sja-Anat hadn't been able to save the three of them? What if Kaladin hadn't touched the crystal ball style thing during the High storm in Shadesmar where he saw a glimpse of the future about Dalinar needing help? What if they had tried a different way of getting out of Shadesmar? Considering the climax of the book, having all three of them in such constant peril of falling out of the main conflict or dying is a crazy risk to the Cosmere, and there were SO MANY tiny choices that made it all happen just right.

Seems like fun! Sadly won’t be able to go there, but would be fun to see it recorded!

My big Cosmere what if is Dedelin sending Vivenna instead of Siri. Cause Vasher probably ends up getting caught and killed, then the knock on effects for Stormlight are huge, especially considering the info from the WaT prologue…

I think you should include the Bands of Mourning from Mistborn Era 2. Even if you consider it a weaponized magic system, the fact that anyone can use it means that it fits in the weapon category, in my opinion

The idea of the god beyond being widespread is not surprising, as the cosmological argument for a transcendent creator is pretty common in different forms. If there are contingent things, there must be one non-contingent first mover upon which they are contingent, and an infinite regress of divine creatures doesn't answer this.

I finished the Stormlight Archive last month and finished my flight through the cosmere with Sunlit Man and Yumi. They felt so short to me. After Wind and Truth I'm starting the Wheel of Time because I need another enormous fantasy world to fall into for a few months.

You always give the best cosmere lore in the most interesting way.

You're wrong, KalaLyn is real and Syl debonds out of heartbreak, causing Kaladin to enter a catatonic state, but then that one old guy from Reckoners joins forces with Dalinar to reforge the Oathpact, simultaneously bonding Kaladin with all of the honorspren making him both a herald and honor, don't ask about how that works when the Sibling and the Stormfather exist, it doesn't matter.

As always, some of the best cosmere content on TH-cam.

I have fallen into this same trap. Started reading wheel of time in year 8 and finished in year 10. After that I proveeded to read every single Brandon Sanderson book and have only recently caught up to 90% of the (not including white sands and Dawnshard) but as I have allowed myself to start branching out into the powder mage series and other books I don't look at book length the same anymore at all. Brandon has hacked my brain to be a reading machine 😁

So I'm 8 months behind and haven't finished the video, but something I thought of, hearing how Adonalsium is both investiture and anti-investiture, and all the Shards we've seen are specifically investiture, what if the "God Beyond" is the god of anti-investiture? Like when Adonalsium was shattered, everything we've seen in the Cosmere is just the one Investiture half of Its powers? Alternatively, I have heard the "Cosmere" used to refer to the specific galaxy all the planets are in, so what if the God Beyond is simply the equivalent of Adonalsium, but of another galaxy? What if Adonalsium wasn't alone?

My guess with Temporal Metal (Gold, Electrum, Cadmium and Bendalloy) Cages is some of the following For Cadimum and Bendalloy the end result is fairly simple, they speed up (Bendalloy) or slow down (Cadmium) the duration of the Effect produced by the Spren For Gold and Electrum I'm a bit lost.
