The problem is there's no government supervision on hotels or accommodation places, so even crappy places overcharge so much. There should be a 1 to 5 star rating system and corresponding prices for each rating to be enforced by the government/Dept. Of Tourism to avoid overpricing. The food prices though, that's another thing since supplies have to be transported to the island just like Boracay so prices are usually high. Siargao needs budget hotel or resort chains to drive the accommodation prices down. Right now everyone is competing to have higher prices, which are putting off most local tourists and foreign backpackers. Maybe another pandemic is needed to put these greedy people on their knees, as well as the Narcos administration, so they'll come to some realization.🤣

I was there 4 years ago, and definitely its a demand issue. The island isn't really prepared for droves of tourist coming in. It is a pretty small island and most of it is still left untouched.

Sanctuary is as natural as it gets. A natural habitat without human intervention. Sanctuary means it is protected and people are not allowed to take away any flora and fauna in that area.

I have lived in cebu city for 7 years now, most of the nice beaches are nice to visit. I would never live or stay long term, no good hospitals, it gets boring after awhile, limited good food variety, many are in the typhoon belt, most foreigners do not go in the sea. they just drink and sex girls,,,,,hahahaha

Ha! You need to come back next time and explore the whole islands. You just went to a few. You have 7600 more to go. The most beautiful island in the Philippines is called BATANES, you will mesmerize, it's avatar breathtaking. The landscape is like Scotland and Ireland but in tropical scenery. You tube it.
