I love my TRX 34. I have the same color and the same Trinity rest. I’ll be using it for hunting though. Smoothest bow I’ve shot so far.
The engage grip sucks. Tried the UV grip liked the fit but caused torque issues. Running with grip tape only. May try the side plates. Tks for the video
What do you mean by surprise shot?
And what do you mean by work the release?
Last question, what’s your opinion on extreme physical conditioning to get a float pattern as small as possible? I literally do shoulder workouts with my bow in my hands. My thoughts were if it’s as light as a feather to me then I have much greater control and I’ve seen major jumps in my accuracy.
How well has this held up since you put it on the bow? Heat? Moisture?
Super excited to see a bow shop in Broward county!
What you described what your target panic is exactly what I went through. It was a hard process to overcome it.
Something that helps me is I imagine a straight line going from my release to my point of aim.
You gotta trust the pin movements. Just focus on making the best shot cycle you can. Focus on the spot. Eventually you will come to the point where the release will fire at the precise moment to hit the mark. It’s the best way to not get anxiety of the shot. For hundreds of shots don’t worry if you don’t hit the spot, just shoot controlled shots so your brain will recognize the correct shot process. It won’t happen overnight. Start at 15-20 yards to just hit the target. Doesn’t matter at first if you don’t hit the bullseye because you are memorizing correct shot process which is more important at first.
One of the best videos on target panic I've seen. When I'm helping someone get over target panic I have them walk right up to that target at 5 yards to get the feel of what they need to do. Then work their way back. If it starts happening again move up and start again. I've been shooting for 40 years and I've been through it especially when tournament shooting so I understand.
Yep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Reason I've been hoping/waiting years for a quality site company (hha/spot-Hogg?) to come out with a quality whitetail hunting site based on a single concentric ring instead of a pin. (kind of inverting the solution you were describing in this video) - Would be good for quick distancing as well! 15 years of striving for "pin precision" while practicing almost got the best of me a few years back. Don't know if it was the pin float or slightly blurred vision from aging eyes while trying to out shoot my friends. Either way, concentrating on that single pin resulted in target panic and consequently trigger punching. FWIW: A center punched piece of glass with reflective & "illuminate-able" the inner edge might work nicely. (via a standard site rheostat) 1x punched glass scope inserts like this already exist for target shooting. (But they're usually tinted & don't have any means to illuminate where the glass ends.) Etched reticle might work as well, but don't want glass over the vitals. - Dust, scratches, etc.
Well for the first time after watching so many videos....no BS.....makes total sense......put the ego aside and get back to the simple stuff....subbed too.....
Just don't try to get the pin to stop moving, cause it won't. Concentrate on the "center" of the spot and just let your pin float in it. It works, don't expect instant success..
Great description of how I developed target panic, I have been working for two years on fundamentals and pulling the the shot with a hinge release and love the clean surprise break, I had to start with blank bale bale. No sight, no target at 10 yards!
Thanks for posting! I am struggling with pin float during my league shooting, not so much with 3D shooting. Hope this helps me.
Cool stuff.
De Best nada muy mal servicio en Europa Muy mal por parte de Ultraview
This is exactly what I'm planning on doing. I know it's not complicated, but glad to see it done. Thanks
Really awesome, I like it, looking forward for your next video, keep it up! Get rapid results > *Promo SM* !
A bare shaft that rotates right or left when fired means nothing. It has no real force acting upon it to go one way or the other. So, fletch with a clockwise offset or helical and be done. Clockwise offset will also keep your broadheads from unscrewing mid flight.
I wouldnt go as far and say it means nothing. Yes you can get away with fletching how you like. However Im all about consistency and reliability. No reason to fight the arrow flight. A small dab of string wax, nail polish, loc tite , or hot melt will keep those BHs nice a tight
Jimmie I totally agree, we've been doing this for years and it's worked great. A broadhead unscrewing as it goes through an animal is not good.
Sick setup man!
at the risk ok being that guy it is pronounced LEUpold, not Leopold
When setting the sight in marks at say 20 and 80 you said to use a caliper to measure the distance between these marks….. are we measuring this in inches or something else? I’ve used this program before with target sites and had better results than my accutouch.
Since I build tapes before I go out and shoot I just play with “Range 2” numbers until the “Calculated speed” matches what I chrono’d the arrow speed at. This usually puts me pretty close. I can use the other tapes that print out if its slower or faster
Great camera work. Finally watching people that know how to use their releases. Awesome! No punching!! 99% of the "youtubers?" that shoot these events don't have a clue about using a release correctly. Great shots folks.
THANK YOU TIM!! I know what youre talking about. All we can do is try and help others as much as possible to get them “pulling through”
Matthews would never make a 34 specifically for hunting( talking about target specs or quality) From a business stand point, they would loose money. Understand this ; they been making two flag ship bows for the last years, one supposedly for short draw and the other for long draw the reason of this they say (more efficiency)they claim. But yet the TRX 34 goes from 23.5 to 30” draw, they considered a target bow there fore it can be sold as such (Which is more money). I’ve been shooting Matthews for a while already and I can tell you that they are both good hunting and target bows. They make good bows and perhaps far better at marketing so they know what they are doing. The result more (money)😎
Can this grip work for an older bow like the z7
It will not
Just got this release and it has changed my life, I was dealing with unbelievable target panic that I had no idea it was happening. I enjoy shooting my bow again!!!! Thanks for the great content!
Great news David. Thank you for the feedback.
I as well picked one up last year and won’t go back to any other release. Tighter groups and more confident shots. 2 questions; 1. can you let me know what stabilizers you use and how you set them up? 2. Can you do a walk through on your DIY bow shop and what you use? Looking to set up a home bow shop and trying to get some ideas. Thank you
Good info.....I have a old english bulldogg that does that exact same thing, digs with both front feet lmao
Just hangs in here and passes gas 😂
looks great
Your shirts are Rad!!
Do you sell everything as a package? I’m really interested in using this scope but I’m not running a single pin sight right now.
We have the scopes and rods in stock. Only sight i have to run it on would be a Spot Hogg Fast Eddie Visit radarchery.com
Great video. Any reason to not use this bow for hunting? I’m looking for a bigger axle to axle bow to replace my VXR.
Its is an option to hunt with. However the cam system is a little more demanding than the cams on the flagship models. Lil time behind it and you will be good to go.
I have had my TRX 34 for a couple of weeks now. I chose the 70v mods at 60# with 29” draw. Wow! This thing is sweet.
Always good. 🙏🏻💪
nice video. and, nice shooting! question. What packs are both of you carrying? Thanks!
Thank you! Im using the Kifaru Shape charge and Chelsea is using a Mystery Ranch 3 day Assault
👍👍👍
Great video wish they had a bow like the traverse was the first mathews I shot. How do you like the peep guard?
Thank you! Appreciate it. Works great! Recommend having one when you travel with your bow.
yea man a V3 34 would be amazing!!
V34? I think we have something here. Come on Mathews!
Hope it works for you outside. I was 100% dissatisfied with the #1. It's basically useless out in the sun like on a 3-d course. The light wasn't strong enough. Hoping the # 3 is a lot better for you. Guess I will use the #1 when I'm in a blind of some type for hunting?
Just wonder where you got the grip tape? Came out flawless. I was going to buy the bee real but $75 for a grip plus shipping is way to much IMO
Yea I prefer the panels over the UV grip. The tape is just some 3M grip tape. You can get rolls of it on amazon 🤘🏼
@@radarchery9375 roger that thank you brother
$12.99 monthly! no thank you I'll stick with Netflix!
Its $12 for the year
My scope just arrived and I’ve mounted it on an Axcel Acheive xp. Like you said the bolt sticks out too far and i needed to add a washer and a lock washer on the nut side in order to tighten the scope. It kept loosening up prior with just the nut. I think i need a 1/2” SHREWD ROD to clean things up. HOOK ME UP BROTHER! 😎🤙
We have them in stock. Also they come with a short bolt now that will work ok with your rod. I still prefer the Shrewd rod since its a tad longer and allows for more adjustment. radarchery.com/collections/sights/products/shrewd-archery-scope-rod
Hey buddy !
Question on draw weight. Will 60lb limbs get down to 48/49? Working through shoulder issues.
They might.. Id say most bows will with 50-60 limbs.. You could also take some twists out of the cables to drop it a tad.
I have a Traverse and love it, how does the TRX34 compare? Are they about the same speed, does one hold on target better?
I think the 34 is a better shooting bow than the Traverse. However for the money the Traverse would be the best bang for the buck. They are really close. The cam on the 34 is much more demanding and its comparable in speed as the Traverse. I wish Mathews would manufacture a flagship 33-34 ata bow with switchweight mods. That would be the winner
It works just fine with the Axcel rod that comes with the Carbon pro sights. The UV3 is machined to fit it perfectly. If you are talking about just a little bit of thread hanging out the back of the rod thats simply cosmetic. But don't tell people it doesn't work. That's false information my guy.
Not one time in this vid did I say the Axcel rod will not work with the UV. Actually say it will work just fine with their rod.
@@radarchery9375 That's my mistake. I misheard you. I apologize sir.
Apology excepted. Thank you 🤘🏼
Great guy here. Thanks for all your help.
Youre welcome. They also have a short screw you could use now. Still think the Shrewd barrel is nicer looking over the Axcels, also gives you more adjustment for windage since its a lil longer
If I didn't get the traverse a few years ago this mathews bow would be the one I'm looking at love 33 to 34 inch ata bows they're a great do everything bow
I picked up a Traverse as well. Love it
I just got the same bow same color today, it will come with Hamskea Hunter pro not the Trinity though, I do have the Trinity target pro on my TRX 38 so I'm switching, I'll be selling the 38 soon on eBay because like you I do not have the time or the place to shoot competitively. So I'll sticking with my new still in the mail TRX 34. And by the way, I do have the VXR 31.5 left handed in the same ambush green as you!
V3 34 is a great ideal. I’ve got a vxr 31.5 for hunting rig and trx 38g2 on the way for target set up. Hopefully we see a v3 34 for 2022 👍
I agree. I hope they change gears and bring a longer ata bow back into their hunting lineup
Facts mathews doesn't seem to like to make there hunting bows past 31 inches now makes me glad I got my traverse when I did
Mathews likes making tinker toy size bows
The 34 is awesome. I recently got a second hand Triax that is an absolutely amazing bow, but unforgiving of any form errors. Would love a 34 one day.
Another option is the Traverse. Its more affordable and shoots amazing
@@radarchery9375 Problem is Mathews sells different hunting models every year. If I had the chance to pick up a Traverse, I probably would. But my next bow (in a few years) will probably be purchased new for the lifetime warranty.
I have high hopes they will bring a bow like the Traverse back. Fingers crossed
