Shoma is more like Phillip than Ahnk. And coincidentally, since you're watching Wizard, this series' head writer is a woman that wrote half of Wizard (Junko Komura), she also wrote a lot of Gokaiger and most of Zyuohger and Lupinranger VS Patranger. Personally I find her writting very good, and I love Wizard, so I think I'm in for a good time, regardless. Shoma's Gavv feels mechanical, but not more or less than the others. The crank is different, but the other ones do have visible wires that inject/eject little flash drive things. Also the strap doesn't show until a Gochizo is eaten, so it is definetly part of his body too.

Gavv (Gavu/Gabu - Japanese for Bite/Chomp) is Candy/Snack themed, hes a Gummy, while Hanto the secondary is chocolate, it isnt the first time having a similar season as 2013 gave us Gaim focused on Fruits/Warriors, The "JUICY" is a homage to a famous Gaim commercial also done in Ex aid and Zi-O, Gavv is also a homage to Kamen Rider Kuuga, as next year is Kuugas 25th Anni, There is a lot of similarity between the characters and motifs, i reccomend giving Kuuga (and Gaim) a watch sometime, but Gavv as a starter seems promising so far

The hidden reason for this series theme is to boost Bandai’s snack food sales. What I saw from videos of the recent Tokyo Toy Show, they had a big booth for Kamen Rider with not only Gavv Toys, but packaged food likes boxed chocolate, marshmallows and of course the gummies. They even gave away some Kamen Rider Gummi packs to visitors. The ads and promotions show that Gavv has forms based on snacks, while most are sweets like gummies, marshmallows and lollipops he also has savory flavors like potato chips. The combat system also has support power ups based on a variant of a certain food, like the chip from having a Flaming Hot variant for sword slashes as seen in the trailer. Speculation: Gavv will have forms of different snacks based on the different tastes that your tongue can sense with the final form being based on combining those tastes to make a powerful attack. For example salty mixed with sweet is a good pairing and so is spicy mixed with something cool (ex. Ranch with spicy Doritos).

This fandom gets crazy over patterns and sometimes make some that don't exist, but Kamen Rider is super self referential, and that's why people try their best to predict things. As the sixth Reiwa Rider, Gavv is very likely to draw inspiration from all other sixes: Amazon as the Sixth Rider of the Legendary 7; Skyrider, the Sixth Showa series produced; Hibiki, the Sixth Heisei Rider and Gaim the Sixth "Neo" Heisei. "Eat or be eaten" is a theme of Amazon. The monsters (Makamou) in Hibiki ate people. Fruits were a theme of Gaim. Going with junk food as a theme is perfectly suitable. Main character being seen dropping out of a plane is straight out Amazon, with Amazon being the survivor of a plane crash. The main color being purple might be a nod to Hibiki. The "JUICY" is definetly a nod to Kamen Rider Gummies (actual food item with commercials) that started airing commercials with Gaim. The only one thing that seems a bit off is that the whole family dynamic thing is a lot more like Kiva than it is any of those other series. Everything points out to this series having a much darker tone in general. If we can gleam possible keypoints from the series it gets inspiration from: The enemy organization will be centuries old; there's bound to be an old mentor Kamen Rider at some point, Shouma will be in for some rude awakenings regarding growing up. Antagonist Riders will be a thing that happens. Betrayal and berserk forms will also be very very likely

The theme of the show is snacks/food. The MC makes his own Power-ups by eating snacks/food, by the way the MC is An Alien. The villains which their are 5 of them are related to the MC. The villain main goal is to kidnap human beings and turn them into food

To clarify if you're still wondering: There was really no connections to past series in KR Gotchard, instead they created Kamen Rider Legend a character who was (literally) inspired by KR Decade and you do not need any prior knowledge to understand the character. He may or may not appear again in the future, but if he's anything like Decade then he will. So far he has already met Gotchard 'and' Gavv. Btw it's kind of a fun coincidence that you're starting Gavv because Gavv's main writer Junko Komura also worked on a lot of KR Wizard lol. Edit: more specifically she worked on half of Wizard and the movies.

I love wizard! he is my favourite rider and the theme of hope really resonate with me. Haruto almost never punch because he wears rings on both hands. Very cool fighting style ❤

I like Gotchard a lot, but something that they really fumbled the bag imo is with Geryon as he could've been the next Evolt, obviously Gotchard spoilers He's maybe not as manipulative, but his presence was so strong when he first debuted in episode 16 (I think it was that), his relationship with the sisters, with how he fucks them all up while still pretending to be their loving father, especially to Atropos, until the very end of the show when he decides they're not useful to him anymore so he just kills all 3 of them while also fucking up with each of the 3 riders, how they show ud multiple times that the guy had the chance to live peacefully and with everything he could've ever wanted, but he chose his gold dream over and over And for the threat thing, even before we get to know him, Daybreak appears and gives a briefing about his future, so we KNOW that he's a big threat without even seeing him fight at all, and that gets expanded in the movie with the "bad end" thing, I haven't watched it yet so I can't go into details, but just knowing that Geryon winning causes an apocalypse that kills every one of our main group except for Gotchard makes him look as an even bigger threat And there's also thing like Minato and other characters who are just so scared of him that they act differently at the threat of him appearing there, with Minato defecting to his side as his muscle because he saw it as the only way to assure his students don't die, or the other alchemist from episode 41 who made her whole facility be under a shit ton of security purely to defend against Geryon because of how scared she is of him The guy had the roots of a great villain but the show's pacing and him "dying" in the platinum debut killed all of his momentum, I'm fine with the abyssalis kings being major antagonists for a while and the death of one bringing back Geryon, but the problem is that it happened in episode 43 of a 50 episode show, if it was 5 episodes earlier it would've left us more time with the menace that was Geryon for the last 3 episodes (I blame the Legend arc), the one who pretended to be preoccupied for Atropos so he could lure out Fuga and Rinne, while also placing Gaelijah in the perfect spot to take the philosophers stone if everything with the chimera didn't work out, the one who waited until the heroes were celebrating to kill Lachesis to completely destroy their celebration, the one who went to Hotaro's house to tell him "I killed your mom lol xd" TO JUST FUCK WITH HIM, HE HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL BUT THEY COMPLETELY FUMBLED HIM

Check out the soundtrack for Wizard. Every form has its own theme song, and they're all bangers. The "final hope" thing is kinda literal. For the Gate to turn into a Phantom, the person needs to despair completely. Haruto is literally saying "it doesn't matter if everything else fails, and it feels hopeless, I am the one thing that won't fail you"

Sum up when a Phantom takes over, it takes over the person's body as well. Leaving the original owner essentially dead. Koyomi's a special case

Bro I watched Kamen Rider since... Ryuki. I watched all the Heisei and fully aware of some things on the Reiwa era (some stuff from Showa but mainly Shadow Moon) and to be honest, even with Gotchard ending; there hasn't been 1 villain to ever claim the throne from this asshole that I LOVE more than any villain. You put Evolto in an anime, he just GGs. Naruto, GG. Bleach, GG. One Piece, what's the point GG! Like just using the whole of Kamen Rider, and also mentioning Shadow Moon and Black (and RX); none of their villains ever win (through exceptions like Gremlin dealing a huge blow in Wizard or Gold Drive) except Evolto who many of his losses are by design, choosing to lose so he'll reclaim his Evol Driver and evolve-evolve-evolve until he's throwing Black Holes at you and you're dead! I love the interactions he's made with everyone around him, especially Team Build. Responsible for the Crows' death for Kazumi, corrupting Gentoku, lying to Misora, encouraging Banjo to become stronger so he can take that body as his own and Sento... probably the guy he ruined more times than any other. Stole Takumi's life, used his father, manipulated him into becoming a hero; all of it is perfect. His power growth to DBZ levels, his reasons for killing humanity because they're inferior. What he tells Sento during Episode 34 about "Humanity would kill itself even if he wasn't there" is perfect because in other Rider shows, YEA; humanity would lead itself to a downfall! As for the emotion part, I agree but someone told me on the "Sento pissed me off" was him lying. Basically the Blood Tribe can "fake" emotions so all the times Evolto had showed emotions, they were fake. And "He ruined my plans" was him being over-dramatic because it's only a speed bump. And when he gained emotions; that's when he truly began to feel and enjoy the chaos he was bringing and the despair he'll show everyone, especially Sento. And that despair part I LOVE about him! AND yea the movies and after series movies nerfs Evolto badly. I would have prefer for his actual backstory; he wasn't evil yet and only became evil because of Killbus' actions and killing everyone that he cared about. Evolto snaps and realizes such feelings, such thoughts are meaningless and seeks out power for the sake of revenge and his opinion "cleanse this stupid world". Basically like Zamasu but charisma and "he doesn't care about your lives". He would have resentment towards the rest of his tribe like Blood and pure hatred towards Killbus. AND keeping that his whole plan on Earth was his design. He's not perfect but like to me... Evolto is my favorite villain. His charisma, his uncariness, his intelligence, his brute force, his cruelty. Like he's willingly to eat planets just because he wants to be the only thing alive in the human world. He was there at the beginning and he was there at the end. God, I love him! That pedestal will newer fall!

Evolt is good choice but I personally prefer Tenjuro Banno,N-Daguva-Zeba, Takeshi Asakura and Dan Masamune

Build was my first season and evolt is my favorite villain except for Genm. Also I saw a meme were evolto was calling sento and his name was evil dad don’t pick up

When you mention build movie be the one. Yes i also like the new form. But the you talk about hiw all of Blood member pull the string with mc and others. I feel like, yeah youre right. One of the thing that i like about build is Evolt. He is a definition of true villian. Definitely the biggest plothole is why he didnt just ate whole solar system or he being dumb when his plan was working. But i totally has a mad respect for him. Ciao!

I love the character development

He singlehandledly manipulating people left and right, masterminding almost every event in the series, and successfully destroyed the world. Evolt is what if you got Nyarlathotep as Kamen Rider villain but he act purely for his own amusement when Nayrlathotep still have connection with a higher being (Azathoth)

I love Evolt, but have you tried Kamen Rider Drive? That one's a great final villain for different reasons. The show starts and stays in silly mode, but eventually starts serious-ing up. Overall, great entry.
