I really like the new trains, modern, up-to-date and spacious looking. Better than those type 8’s and are safer than them as well meaning they don’t derail nearly as much as the 8’s do. The T basically looked at the 8’s design and said: “How can we modernize this” and they did just that, they gave it a new exterior paint scheme and a revamped exterior and interior layout with new big and bright digital displays and clear crisp automated announcements and white walls with yellow interior poles and handrails/straps connected so passengers can hold on. They are 70% low-floor with no steps required to board and get off in the middle of the trolley which is better for the folks in wheelchairs or the disabled and elderly with a ramp that slides out with the press of a button. Wheel absorbers/reducers that grab on to the wheels reduce the screeching noise that emits from the wheels on sharp radius curvature of track. The wheels are also not seen, being covered by side skirts. They also provide a smoother and quieter ride than the 7’s and 8’s and have a better ride quality and feel safer to ride as they don’t derail and injure multiple passengers nearly as much as the type 8’s do.

Another new Type 9 train testing, possibly to join the accepted fleet of other 9s. I saw 3921 go through arlington on its way to cleveland circle a few weeks after it entered service, what a treat.

whats the point ios 17.4.1 is disaster. battery drain happens if you take photos/video for 10 mins 10% droppage will happen same like if you use any apps.

Theres a total of 42 out of 45 of the new XDE60 Xeclior Hybrid battery buss. I think only there's a few luggage rack buss on SL1. I think Massport is suppose to fund the remaining three buss. Also I heard that there was some battery generation issues of the XE60 Xeclior buss. It cannot have enough power for a full trip. So that's why there are still 3 Neoplan Trackless Trolley DMA60LF Dual Mode buss active. Since the T doesn't have enough Luggage racks buss of the XDE60. Also the 29 retired DMA60LF's which were retired at Wellington Yard. The Costo Middleboro Scrap Yard used a Chainsaw to split the Articulated section of the bus and towed them on flatbed trucks to Middleboro. 0 buss left at Wellington. Wellington is cleared up.

Thank you for this video. I miss the old announcements. I hate the new announcements. The decision to get rid of Frank Oglesby voice was one of the worst decisions that the MBTA ever made. His voice was a great legacy to the MBTA. Looking at most other transit systems I do not see them updating to text to speech anytime soon.

The T pulled out 15 from service. The T agency is saying to put the old cars back into service 1/7/2024

The MBTA is unfortunately phasing out his voice for a text to speech voice because they want to modernize the system by being able to make special announcements using this voice instead of having to rely solely on his voice. I already miss his old announcements.

I made a little mistake about my departure gate from Orlando (MCO). The correct departure gate is Concourse A Gate A75 not Concourse A Gate A18. & My seat row was 18E (Window). Sorry for the misunderstanding!

Their XDE40S their replacing the D40LFS at Lynn with 1400-1459 3100-3139 and the D40LFS in Lynn will adventurely all be at albany street
