TRUST! It starts off that way forsure lmao but it becomes second nature eventually. One thing you can do is make sure your patient/typodont is turned in the right position so you can see where you're probing. Also it takes a lot of practice youll get there friend!

The staff should understand that as a new grad it takes time to get you're own routine down. You will absolutely go over time with patients. I know hygienist who have worked for over 15 years that go over time with patients. Don't worry! If an office is mad at you for providing the best care you can for your patients, then that might not be the office for you. You will be fine, maybe consider brining up this topic to your faculty and see if they can implement some kind of help on this topic.

Trust me it gets better! The more you practice the more it get into your muscle memory. Ill be honest there are still some days where I feel like I'm still slow, but each time I probe or scale I get better!

It isn't and easy journey😅 and it doesn't end when you graduate or pass your board exam. There is a whole new learning curve after school leaning all of the things you didn't in school. But you're so right I have to be kind to myself because I'm doing the best I can!♥ LMAO no literally who hurt them because they legit can be so horrible🤣

I make $50/hr I see typically 7 patients a day and it depends, most appointment are an hour, but new patients and deep cleaning are 1.5hours. I work from 8am-6pm Mon-Thurs and Friday from 8:30am-4pm

When I tell you it stresssses me out to infinity and beyond. There is a hygienist I work with who gets appointments done in like 35-45min while I’m in there still taking bite wings💀 It actually is starting to get better thankfully, I was scared for a minute there😂

There isn't a program you need to go through in order to complete your prerequisites. You just need to take the required courses which you should be able to find at a community college. Now you should be able to find these courses on your program website ❤ Hope this helps!
