Simple technique for great results.
No fence or miter gauge? Obviously you've been doing this a long time? but really fucking dangerous
No. This shoe moulding (not quarter round) is upside down. The longer/taller side of moulding should be along the wall. That's why that inside corner looks the way it does. That will never line up with next piece in the corner the way that 45 is cut.
Thanks thank you for this video. It was fantastic!
The result?
what does it cost to have a buff and coat
I was waiting until you got to the end of your first strip to see if you went all the way back to the starting point to start a new strip or jus continue in a zig zag formation to start a new strip????
Wait! He didn’t finish the other end of small piece! Nice detailed work on what you did though. ;)

Thanks! About to stain my pine floors with expresso color using rags. As a fire timer, this was extremely useful 🙏
I seen Three heads never six or you can use the square sander to with 100 grit .
How much does it cost to replace 4x6 sub flooring.
NOT !
thank you. i also like some character with some lines and cracks but how do you deal with that in the kitchen near the sink or the bathroom? can we rely on the top coat?
? What would you do it that was in the straight part of the wall? I tried cutting at a 45 and the thinking about taking second piece and doing what you did here.
Excellent video thank you so much for breaking it down. Bought a house about seven months ago redoing a guestroom that is downstairs and also has VCT. I have actually done a good amount of VCT and the warning on the glue is funny to me. Even when you’re being survival somehow it gets in ya and then something else 😂
So your title says gluing hardwood to a slab and then you glue it to tile. How stupid.
Well done. I learned good techniques and products
The cleats and staples I'm having trouble installing . They either bunch up or break the tongue. I've tried 80 psi to 120 psi and lower psi seems to work but almost every plank has one or Two fasteners that break or bunch up.
THX! you just saved my back and trying to find extra hands for help!
This helped thank you for the video
How impossible or possible is it to this with glued boards?
The pattern should be more random, nice job all the same
Ok i have a problem my floor is 2 different colors because they had a rug in the middle of the floor... the out side was stained but the inside was not... i sanded off the stain and its beautiful and light but the inside where the rugusedto be is darker and there is a spot or 2 where there is a pee stain... how do i match it up with outgoing dark.. i love the light color of the wood but im sad because its not all the same color... what can i do?
You really need to sand the entire floor and re stain everything at once. Otherwise it won't match. The dark spots are tough, not much you can do except stain it dark to cover it up or have someone cut out and replace the individual boards which is a tricky process
Is this something a DIY'er should attempt?
Where were the nails in that flooring you took out?
Thanks for the good explanation and showing how it's done.
I’m glad to see I’m not the only one rocking a cardboard skirt
Why the silver duct tape on your right hand?
Dont you think you should check the moisture content of the slab?
How bout snapping a line in the center of the room and not starting off the wall. Your a professional,?
Just put a filler behind. To cover that gap.
Mark your piece in place no need to measure
Wow thanks for the tip..👍
How about the expansion and contraction space at the end of the notch and square end of the board at wall?
dont do this it will loosen the fixings, aaaand whoever leaves a trowel like this needs taking out the back door
That tiny cut on the cop was totally unnecessary
Took a few minutes and it lessened thr gap between the shoe and the wall, which decreases the amount of caulk needed and visible. This guy takes pride in his work.
I had always heard that it is not ideal to use OSB for nail down hardwood flooring. Is this true?
OSB is fine. Particle board is not recommended. Plywood is still the best.
Thanks for making this video! I just finished installing 90 sq ft of engineered hardwood in my master closet, and it looks amazing thanks to your guidance!
what type of wood is the trim? Pine? MDF?
Solid pine. Cuts real easy. When cutting solid oak, its a lot harder to use shoe mold scissors.
God Bless you sir
What about bigger hole
You can fill a hole up to about an inch. Bigger than that...use a wood plug.
How are you running a straight line without running a row across with a line snapped?
I dont use a line snap. But you can if you need it.
Found what I need thank you At home Depot they are about 30$
Maybe works with cheap t&g, but for thicker/tighter boards (or if floor a bit uneven) it takes a lot more tapping. The glue rows/width is way too wide to work on planks.
I just uploaded a video on glue down 5/8" x 5" solid plank oak to slab. It works with that also. You just gotta take certain preparations.
Beautiful job
never crosses the buffer always in the position of the wood it was full of buffer mark
How price
I price shoe molding per linear foot. Typically its $1.50/LF. This includes material and labor. This may vary depending on your area.
Also in Nc doing mainly tile but some lvp too. Great video! Thanks boss
What color and brand stain did you use and what finish did you use?
I use Minwax and Duraseal stain. My favorite finish is water-borne Bona Kemi.
@@larry6406 Thank you for sharing. Do you have an instructions video on applying the finish?
@@larry6406 And what color is the stain, this is exactly what we are looking for! Pine is proving tricky!
@@larry6406 And what color is the stain?
Very useful video. I pulled thousands out of my floor with needle nose pliers. The next few rooms will be a breeze now. The pliers leave a small indention too.
