What a sweet message, I’m on a community service mission trip in Manila as part of my university program and this was a nice message to listen to and calm anxious thoughts so I can rest well and recover from a fever I’m having. Can’t wait to reflect more about relationships with your videos once I’m back!

I love this. I left a negative review and was threatened to remove the review. However, I've just made it public again thanks to your video. I won't let narcissists control what I can or cannot say. Love the MapleStory gameplay. Better than those surfing videos 😂😂😂😂 Love the music too, a bit sombre and not too loud.

I have had long term friends that I had known way back from school times that displayed some of those toxic traits or actions, and I myself have behaved like that as well. So because we're all human and we all have been teenagers, I have forgiven them many times over the years. But, at one point, I reached a conclusion that made me truly believe I should break ties with those long term friends: 1. some of them were still basically the same from when we were teenagers; and 2. most of them still saw me as basically the same from when I was a teenager. So 1.: I should forgive a teenager for socio-emotional immaturity, especially when I myself am a teenager acting stupid. But when none of us are teenagers anymore? It's not so forgivable. And 2.: the fact that the same dynamics of when we were young were still being applied to me was stunting my growth. I think most people can relate to this when it comes to their parents: whenever they project that old version of yourself onto you, you regress. You play the character. With the combination of points 1. and 2., whenever I would interact with those friends, I would see myself submersed in immature socio-emotional topics and dynamics that simply didn't serve me anymore. I would also feel underappreciated (how could I grow so much and still be the same to those people?). With that realization, I had to ask myself: what good would be talking to them? One cannot change so much from a single conversation; What good would be staying and forgiving them time after time? These relationships are not the worst, but I strive for more, for different things. I don't have a problem with what those friends did, but with what they do. I now have a problem with their character. If I were to meet them for the first time today I would not seek a relationship. Eventually, I understood that, to truly grow into the person I wanted to become, I couldn't keep the same relationships from the person I wanted to grow out of.

@@metricsplease thank you for sharing.. you're so right that people dump their insecurities onto you and then you subconsciously believe them and play the part. Which is no way to live! I'm proud and glad you were able to cut them out as they were not serving you.

I guess my goal right now is to stop accepting jobs that make me depressed. In my life, I have noticed this pattern: I'll be eating well, exercising, having fun with hobbies, until I get a job or enter a course I don't really like and completely lose control of my health. That's not sustainable. I can't make "losing control of my health" a consistent part of my life. So now I'm trying to take the steps that will make me happy instead of the steps that will get me the most money and acceptance of family and peers. Seriously, everybody around me would make me think: more money = best life. But no money could fix those days where I would force my dead, soulless body to finish work. No games, foods, events, trinkets, no ANYTHING that I could afford would make those joyless periods of my life worth living fr fr.
