Welcome to Fiddle Fern Farmstead! We are so excited for you to join us and can not wait to share our love for small scale homesteading. HEY Y'ALL today we get some chores and errands done around the farm while we deal with this crazy wind that our area has been getting lately.
UNEXPECTED TROUBLE on the farmstead. We have to make a decision.

Hey y'all! welcome to Fiddle Fern Farmstead. Today I'm doing a little clean up and getting some root cuttings from my comfrey plants. A request on your videos. Your audio is quite low compared to other videos and the volume has to be turned up quite a bit. Other than that I enjoy your videos
For the record, I mainly mean your speech. Keep up the good work

I've been thinking of using Free Choice Minerals when I get my animals but this might work out better with the smaller amounts
@@Emundas455 this has really been an awesome method. It’s interesting watching the go from each one and choosing the ones they want. Kind of crazy that they can smell and know what they need.

Art on the walls could be a fun project. Remember that its your farm and you can not only do what you want with it, you can always redo it if you don't like it.

The orientation of the shed roof is incorrect. Water will not flow off to the back.
Thank you for your input. There are 2 orientations for metal roofing, ( horizontal and vertical). We use both on our property depending on the application of the building. The goat sheds don't have gutters so the application did't call for directional water flow. that being the case we elected for the horizontal roof for cost effectiveness.

What do you plant in June or July after you harvest the garlic?
In that bed I usually do okra, I’ve done egg plants too. Usually just depends on what I need more of that year.

Just came across your channel. Nice to meet you and see all the different things you are doing. I’m trying to get back to doing my videos but it is time consuming especially when I’m basically doing everything by myself
I totally understand! Doing it all can be a big stressor between filming, being mom, finishing college, and the list goes on 😂 I have to tell myself to just go film something. Stay encouraged! We are just starting out so I hope I can bring some of that encouragement to you as well! Thanks for hanging out with us ❤
Nice to meet you! I have a small homestead in N.C that's 1.66 acres and we use maybe a 4th of that. Nothing wrong with starting small as long as you start 😉
