Edgelord that plays Phantasy Star Online 2, Armored Core 6, Starsector, and Elden Ring too much.

Capcom should've never let me use a Greatsword with a counter. Now I am become John Monsterhunter, the hunter of monsters.

ah yes, parry moves and multi hit attacks: the perfect recipe for a cart!
but professor plutonium accidentally added another ingredient to the concoction: chemical LIGHTNING STRIKES
I WANT TO PLAY IT AGAIN I NEED IT AHAHFAHZSDAH PLEEEEEEASE LET FEBRUARY COME ALREADY
Totally EPIC but you missed the opportunity to finish with a level three max charge hit
I'm calling it before the game launches, the last hit of tcs should be an offset attack out of principle.
That was freaking awesome
Playing GS in wilds qualifies you to park in disabled parking spots just so you know
that was so fucking cool dawg what a shame my laptop cant run this game
UUGHHH I wanna play Greatsword now, i'ts decided, HH main yet I definitively gotta give GS a try as a second, or even first weapon! The music, the battle, those hits! epic.
Remember, this is just the beta, meaning it actually a high chance Rey day will be WAY more stronger than this
I really think Swaxe's offset needs an option to hold it for a second, it would make it so much easier to use
Lore accurate Greatsword
Least epic hunting in monster hunter
So the offset "topple" is based off a damage threshold? Max charged offset upswing seems to always topple, but it seemed like you need to hit several lower charged offsets to trigger the topple. I like that it chains into TCS if we land the non-topple offsets though.
They counter any small physical attacks, no damage threshold.
Really hoping guard or some other skill reduces the damage taken after offset or parrying.
i notcied the first 2 off-sets you took damage but the third one you didnt, is it a timeing thing? or is it the aoe damage thats getting you?
To my understanding, properly knocking down a monster works off of a hidden gauge that fills with successful offsets. The first offset is a guaranteed knockdown, after that it becomes more of a trade system. The more powerful of an attack that you launch to offset (a full level 3 offset strike from GS), the more that gauge fills. Of course, I could just be insane and it really is just timing, but in my experience it seemed to work that way.
So satisfying ! I started playing the beta the same way I would play World or Rise. Then I started using focus mode and I was like: OK I'm dodging, blocking, offseting and weaving in and out of attacks like I've been playing this for years. Seriously, it is the most fun I've ever had playing any video game. And the music...
Cinematic af lesgooooo babyyyyyy
Ok, is not wilds but is what i have now... Let's go back to Mh world...
someone send this to asmon
Can we get props for the cat with the cluch heal?
Misha never lets me down, Palicos are a godsend.
god damn, i cant even describe how much dopamine i just released lmao
That was epic
they need to add a FOV Camera mod in the future
Honestly my biggest wilds complaint is monsters running away from great combat too much (as in switching zones)
I envy the people who can actually play mh wilds. I can run it with maximum 10 fps with the lowest graphics settings, its absolutely ridiculous
On a "next gen" console series S I get like 40fps and frequent dips to 30 infrequent to 25 and heavy shudders whenever loading in something excuse the language but. "It runs like absolute shit and frame generation is being used as an excuse to not optimize the game is an affront to God and the player base as a whole especially when console doesn't have that option"
let’s hope it’s not another dragons dogma 2 situation 🤞
@@aboveaveragenerd3306 Here's hoping that optimization improves across the board for launch of the game! Ran mostly around high 40s to high 50s for myself and didn't feel too bad playing, the lows where it was sub-40 felt really bad however.
It honestly feels like I played a different beta to everyone else. Mine consistently ran smoothly (not got an actual frame count, I was on Ps5 though) but the only hiccup I ever had was the game itself crashing once. I didn't ever notice frame droppage or chugging.
@@Frozenkoldfury we'll that'd make sense it was a beta so its not 100% even across all systems especially because the mh team is new to cross-platform. Series s kinda runs like crap 40fps average with frequent dips and heavy stuttering on mid. Somehow ps5 is fine?
This feels so fucking good to do I already miss the beta 😔
Peak gs gameplay dropping soon
That was amazing
[Checks against 1 Corinthians 13]... "Yep it's in there. That checks out!"
Blocking a giga rail gun beam with a greatsword will always be funny to me
Counters like that are the reason I main lance in MH World. I love the feeling of going toe-to-toe with monsters like Nergigante. But now that so many weapons get counters, I don’t know what I’ll use😅
how are you on PC and not fighting origami monsters?
VRAM over 12GB probably
Funny enough my current laptop has 32 GB Ram and a 4070 Graphics Card and it ran for the most part smoothly with some visible hiccups
I FUCKING LOVE OFFSET ATTACKS
Dang I already miss this so much
They really cooked the GS this time, almost like youre playing baseball with the monsters attacks
Damn how he blocked that damn thunderbolt
Hold block button
i did not think those moves where that powerful when i used them, but i am beginning to believe that they might just be total game changers for any weapons that has them
First one being a guaranteed topple is enough to just make you go for the one. Then add them being hyperarmor/heavily armored attacks that do decent damage that can build up to more topples...they're going to be a big part in deciding if a player is good or not.
At the beginning of the series it was about a hunter hunting monsters, now the name of the series is talking about the hunter being one
The hits lining up with the horns in the background at 0:40 are sooooo 😩👌
I didn't know you could upload porn on youtube
so offset attack still take damage if it not perfect ?
Offset attack is the same as the tackle if it doesn't trigger the counter animation. Greatsword trades so much now.
@@spooky8662 so does evade extend gonna affect the counter window like other counter move from weapon ? could be interesting
@@minhnguyen-fs2iv I can't speak on that. I never noticed a change to the tackle, so I doubt offset will be different. They seem coded to be very similar in function.
u dont take damage when you counter, but offset attack works like status, when u counter the monster it builds up resistance, so u need more offset attacks to counter the monster again
The music dropping at that last offset could NOT have been a coincidence.
It's actually not, the music is dynamic in this game and swells and changes to character actions and monsters actions.
the CLEANEST tanky greatsword wilds gameplay I've seen so far pretty amazing stuff bro 😆
February 28 is too far away
Cinematic af. I am looking forward to play as John M.H. Wilds, the wild monster of hunter
lol i made my hunter "Mister Hunter Wilde" 60% slaying 40% beast slayer
IT WAS ME, I SWIPED THE NAME JOHN WILDS WHEN THE BETA RELEASEZ
Playing as John monster hunter is great but I prefer playing as 44th president of the United States Barack Obama and I WILL be masquerading as a lute welding badges.
I shall become the ultimate Mons-
I always name my character John Hunter lol
Bro got balls of steel
Top 10 Anime Battle.
That was so cool! Subscribe!
That fight was so damn cinematic. The reason longsword was objectively funner than any ither weapon was because the counters turned every fight into an actual movie. Now that almost every weapon has a counter of sorts, you can get that same feeling with all of them and for that capcom absolutely cooked. I personally went froma greatsword hater to refusing to play anything other thqn the greatsword during the beta lol.
I mean Greatsword got the Offset Attacks, the perfect Guard and Power Clashes while still maintaining the feeling of an old school Monster Hunter Weapon. I still like my "overdesigned" Longsword and Charge-Blade. Going back to the roots with Greatsword and SNS can be as fun, if not more in some situations!
You'll find that not every person thinks like you do. To many people Longsword being able to counter virtually everything turned the weapon from interesting to very boring as there were next to no stakes if you just got used to a single timing. IT might've been cool for new players who didn't understand MH combat system to begin with, but for the existing fans the ridiculous counter move they gave to LS was way too much. That's why it garnered the reputation of the "easy mode" weapon, because it was genuinely making the game significantly easier to play with how easily you could just dodge everything and ignore your positioning or learn any of the monster's movesets to anticipate them. The GS counter in Wilds at a glance appears to be way more nuanced than foresight slash. It has a windup animation which means you can't just pull it off instantly, it also has a lengthy attack animation meaning it has to be timed with that too. And it appears to be WAY less generous than foresight slash, which has a ridiculously forgiving window to dodge attacks. It's a lot more similar to brave style LS counter in GU, where you needed to have spirit gauge to pull it off in the first place, and then the timing was significantly tighter, it was a genuinely high risk and high reward move that was easy to screw up if you didn't master the timing (similarly to the Iai slash timing in World). IT can also be compared to Switch Axe's silkbind move that functioned as a counter, which also had a windup alimation and then an attack animation, meaning it was very hard to use it purely by reacting to attacks, you'd use it in preparation for an attack that is coming next. So no, I really don't agree that giving every single weapon a counter move would make all of them more fun to play, it would make it the opposite and it would only served to make them feel more similar rather than distinct. The GS counter is fine, but only because the way it works is perfectly aligned with core principles of GS as a weapon and will require you to anticipate attacks to pull it off rather than just reacting to them, which is how GS already plays.
@@RiskOfBaer I see your point and agree with it, I actually didn't like how easy longsword felt to me in the beta but it's not because its easy but due to experience using it. I've actually found that the game is easy using the more basic and fast weapons like sword and shield or weapons that don't require countering like the charge blade. If anything LS forces you to wait for timings and learn the moveset to set yourself up for counters where as with other weapons its a matter of triple evade window, triple evade extender and/or guard up. The fun from LS came from successive performing back to back counters with that tension of "will I make it in time before the next attack" and being able to just overcome instakill attacks using timing. I think it's fine if weapons receive rewarding counters with windup animations wihtout encroaching on LS' neiche of counter heaven.
@@RiskOfBaer to be fair tho.. besides the offset rising slash.. GS now has access to a very fast block deployment after literally every attack you do especially after charge attacks and that includes offset rising slash.. if you somehow prematurely release the offset slash right before enemy actually strikes.. you can almost instantly block which with correct timing triggers perfect block that has significantly lesser or even no sharpness reduction.. which may also lead to power clashes. this is also very useful on monsters with continuous attacks.. if your offset attack connects to an attack but fails to knockdown the monster, that means they are not interrupted during their combo attacks then you can quickly flow up with series of perfect blocks after the first offset attack.. once I figured out combining applications of offset slash and perfect block, i barely dodge attacks anymore..
@@Mugetsu192 That sounds like a lot. I just hope they don't trivialize the combat system by giving weapons way too many tools that give them an answer to everything and allow players to salvage their mistakes. That goes completely against what MH combat used to be all about. It was already getting a bit ridiculous in Rise but in that game they at least tuned up the monsters in the lategame to match your power level. If they don't do the same in Wilds and have the game around the same difficulty as World was I'm afraid it will be so easy it will be boring. World was already way too easy for over 90% of the game...
peak cinema
Dude holy FUCK THAT WAS SO SEXY I NEED THIS GAME TO RELEASE RIGHT FUCKING NOW MAN
Lets let it cook a lil more Brotha. Just this once, a game actually needs the few several months of polish to prevent a second coming of the origami ones xD
@ stop being right! I want it so bad! Stop being right!
@@tomasskala4405 The "Origami Ones" is great 😂
Some people are still playing the beta with a local server workaround (singleplayer only) I wouldn't wanna risk installing that patch cause Windows Defender gave a warning about a "Trojan:Script/Wacatac.H!ml" even if a lot of people have been talking about it being a false positive. Still, I'm tempted seeing this video.
