Looking particularly healthy, seems you are feeling better.
Great to see you David.
Absolutely loved this David, really connected. Seeing it on 10/04/18, all the best, Cheers
I'm an old maid too and being a singlton isn't so bad. Hang in there, maybe a partner is on the horizon. Who knows...
I made one too. My parents said we were going to lunch. Lol
Hope it's all going well, David. I look forward to hearing from you when you're back online, my friend!
Enjoying your videos David
All the best David! Have a lovely day tomorrow.
Hooray for Pancake Day! Your positivity is astounding.... So glad you've not succumb to the 5 FU!
As a daily avid viewer I would love to continue hearing your day to day shenanigans!! What a fantastic fella you are and I love how tough you’ve been throughout!! What a star David!!
If you feel up to doing them David, then I, for one, would be interested to learn of your progress. This old cousin of yours sends love.
Interesting to hear your journey............think we'd all miss you if you just stopped. Personally I think you should stop when you have kicked cancer in the butt and we can all celebrate with a Welsh T celebration gig 💪🏻
your all go, well i am the opposite i am no go. trying various laxatives and trying to get dose right but failing slightly. lot better than last cycle but hope to get it right next time. Like you, am seeing doc before next round. Couldn't help noticing when you did your pancakes you had the f5u tube coming out of the end of your sleeve. Much better to take it inside your clothes across your chest and out at your waist. no chance of pulling or knocking it that way
tingling a lot better after a good sleep. still have top be careful. getting it affecting my feet on cold floors and also my lip. just been to doc to get prescription to counteract heartburn i get in day 2,3 and 4. all in all reasonable positive and muddling on. going to have fun later getting cold chicken removed from the bones while possibly wearing gloves. think i might soak the knife and fork in hot water and see i can forgo the gloves lol
dave arnold I had the lip tingling today for the first time. Very odd!
glad you seem to be doing ok. had next chemo today and got the finger tingling before i left the ward. have had to really heat up the room to keep it under control and am hoping it get a little less sensitive overnight
dave arnold Hope the tingling has been better today Dave!
Looking good!
Glad your tea is tasting better. :)
The cap looks great... we wouldn't be human if our positivity didn't tank, now and again, when fighting a battle with the big C. Everything is going to be ok. Go see that barber. It's like tearing a bandaid off quickly. ;)
Can shave it so it doesn't get everywhere... that's what I did. Long strands every where was just too much. :)
Heel veel sterkte ♡
Ja Nee Thank you!
just got back. f5u pump in hand. felt a hint of tingling in my fingers and my lip had a bit of the same also my jaw joint became sore again as i start to eat then wears off. Apart from that all well. oh and my tea tastes ok must be yorkshire water lol
dave arnold - good to hear you’re getting through it ok Dave. Definitely been better for me second time through.
good luck for tomorrow. my next cycle starts thurday at 11am
dave arnold - hope yours has been going Ok Dave!
so far yes. felt a bit tired here and there but otherwise no probs. hope it continues as i have 11 more cycles
dave arnold - yep you’re on a marathon compared to my 4.
Hi there. Glad you survived the dawn till dusk visit, while freezing and waiting to catch other's germs, and while the threat of mystery surgery, loomed large in the room. They keep it purposefully freezing in hospitals to cut down on the bills. I'm kidding. Ha ha ha! :) it's to reduce staph and other nasty bacteria. I've yet to Google,. But relieved to learn you are feeling a bit better . :)
all going ok for me with no real side effects. district nurse did not turn up yesterday and it now after 11 today monday so it looks like i will have to arrange to get this pump off myself. As for the injections you will prob find as i did after your op you will need daily injections of Fragmin and you get to do them yourself. Did not really like doing it but its not that hard but was very glad when it came to an end. I would make a very bad junkie lol
dave arnold - phone your chemo people up about your pump Dave - they’ll get you sorted I’m sure. I’ve felt generally grotty and delicate ever since the chemo start tbh, and I’m ready for that feeling to lift now. Glad to hear you’re coping well with it.
Lovely to see you looking so well and sounding so upbeat David. You will smash this x x x
Tracey Colley thanks Tracey!
well pic line was a breeze as you basically said was in before i knew it. went through first chemo which took about 3 hours. Am home with F5u pump which is half empty. At the moment no sign of any side effects which is nice. District nurses due tomorrow to remove pump. If i get no reaction by then i will feel lucky it will make the next 11 sessions easy if it continues. How did you get on protecting the pic line in the shower. was told to use cling film or apparently i can buy a protector from Boots.
dave arnold - I was told clingfilm too Dave. But I don’t have a shower. A bath is a challenge isn’t something I’ve felt up to tackling yet. But I will have to soon! :-)
same here no shower. will ask about the cover and let you know
Darn it on your tea! Things will taste better in a while. Good job on the soup! You'll find things that don't taste so strange and using plastic utensils to eat can help. ;) hang in there!
Eyes lil brighter today, I don't want pooh on your gig, but you do need to be very careful right now with your cell count low to be in public or around germs at all. You may want to check with doc. It would not be as risky next week, once white cells are up to protect you. A tiny cold, could be pneumonia for you right now. If you insist on the risk, you should wear a mask and dint shake hands with anyone. Lots of hand sanitizer. I know it makes you happy... And I know you didn't ask my advice, but this does worry me.
Think the weight gain and rounding out of face is likely due to the steroids, which cause water retention. Then it wears off and you release. It makes it difficult to determine actual weight gain/loss , but did keep me from looking thin and frail, and feel better and helped with appetite. I was given massive doses though as part of the chemo, cuz in huge doses, it actually killed my type of cancer cells. Who knew? ;)
Good to hear you have improved from yesterday and never say you are failing too keep it brief! It’s a privilege to share the journey, not to mention informative and fascinating. The vast majority of us will have cancer in our live wether it be directly like yourself or a loved one. This helps on both counts so some good will come from this and you can look back on it with pride. Keep going we are all behind you but don’t let it become a chore if you skip a day because you don’t feel up too it, that ok to. 👍🏻
Glad you are feeling better than yesterday David, let’s hope everyday sees you on the up. xxx
Just got back from hospital. pic line in, painless and easier than I thought, chemo in and home with a pump. No side effects so far. The next 2 days we will see what happens
dave arnold hope it all goes well Dave
Sorry you are having a rough day David. Hopefully you will be able to sleep tonight and that tomorrow is a better day. xxx
nice to have warning about the effects of the drug in the pump. Will prob hit me on Sunday then. The only thing for me is i have 12 cycles to look forward to
Sorry your beginning to feel rough. They do have a cumulative affect. I hope you aren't alone if you get to feeling really icky. If ever there were a time to allow a friend to help out here and there, it's likely thru this. I'm so glad you were given a good prognosis from the start. Everything will be ok. ;)
Don't be afraid to include emotions/ state of mind. I know that's quite a request given gender difference, but if anyone can, you can. You write beautifully and honestly, so try not to make the vlog too clinically sanitary, fact based, and void of all emotion. Cuz, no matter ones gender, the big C is an emotional roller coaster and folks need to know that ok. We are only human... I'd rather know how your really feeling than your daily temp, but do it as you like. It is after all your vlog. This is just a suggestion. ;)
glennakatz1 - Hi Glenna! Thanks for your great comment, and something I’m not actually avoiding. But so far it’s felt like a business like process so far. It’s felt like this because the docs have told me that I can look forward to a good outcome right from the outset. But, believe me, if there are tears you’ll see them. And there may be as this roller coaster proceeds. :-) Time will tell. 😁 x
well made me feel a bit better about having my pic line fitted on Friday thanks. Hope all goes well tomorrow and your side effects are slight or none existent
dave arnold - I hope your procedure is as uneventful as mine was Dave. They’re true experts.
Fsh! Keep Strong. Guess no Tuesday Philosophy tomorrow. Will miss it. x
Tracey Colley - aiming to do Tuesday Morning Philosophy Club still. It might be a bit later in the day than usual. Maybe about lunch time. And a different venue (I hope they have WiFi I can use otherwise I’ll be stuck!) :-)
Thank you for sharing and my prayers are with you. Hummus is a good form of protein and easy to swallow xxx
Cask Corner thanks Julie! Yep Humus is a good idea!
Good luck David. xx
Elaine Kneller thanks Elaine!
Stay Strong David, look forward to seeing you play with one of your bands hen this is all over xx
Tracey Colley - Thanks Tracey! The bands are still operating while I’m out of action, but hoping I’m back in action from September onwards! Xx
