In the past few years, our winters have been the opposite of brutal. The cultural scene is fantastic, and the people are among the friendliest in the world. If strangers ask a Pittsburgher for directions, some of us will walk -- or even drive -- them to their destination. I am one of those people.

Are there any specific areas that are good for dog owners? For example, good dog parks, access to good walking trails, good local pet store, etc.? So far, I’ve been focused on Bellevue and Carnegie with some great parks. I grew up south of Pittsburgh and am thinking of retiring there as it is much less expensive than where I live right now…

Pittsburgh is like a giant black hole. Get out while you still can. P.s.- You didn't mention the persistent racism nor did you mention the insane amount of air pollution this entire region must endure. I believe its 15th worst in the country? Terrible.

I have “cinders” in my knee still at age 70. From the old track at the HS when I took a spill. They installed a state of the art tartan track while I was there. Lebo ‘71

Income tax - I understand that PA doesn't tax for retirement income. ( pension, IRA, deferred compensation, Social Security ) Many states do

Didn’t even mention the only farm left in Wexford. The Eichners family farm. My wife’s family started it in 1897 and have the best fresh eggs and meats. Wife and I raise beef and lamb here.

Hi! Exciting video! So 2 questions. You mentioned high taxes when you own a property but there's still no state taxes on pensions and other retirement income correct? Also, if I just want to rent, are there nice rental apartment buildings available in Mt. Lebanon?

Pgh Pa is a Leader in Medicine, Technology, engineering, and also - Electrical Energy. West. Pa, thrives on the 3 cleanest (also Renewable) forms of energy. They are: 1.) Water = Hydo-electric Power; 2.) Nuclear & Atomic Power - World leader; 3.) Waste to Energy ( wTe ). also called, AKA Burn your weekly Garbage, to generate MegaWatts of Power. wTe is Renewable each year, as long as we have Millions (Billion) of people on earth. Last, Great School, colleges, Technical Schools, and Teachers. Pgh is Rich in: Churches, religion, and spiritual resources. Wonderful Local churches, Pastors & Teachers.

The Biggest Plus about Pgh P1 ? ? The people. I was raised there. I was raised in a place with genuine, sincere, honest people. I later worked and lived in other states, and - did not find that. Pgh people are very diverse, and employs people, from all nations. All religions and cultures are tolerated. ( Not so - is some other states, places.) The people are GREAT, 5 stars. * * * * *

Low cost of living, generally friendly down to earth people, easy access to nature, still within driving distance to a beach despite being far from the coast. Tons of walkable neighborhoods. And relatively low crime rate. That's just my own personal take ... I'm sure others will disagree with me. I'm a PA native and been to PGH before.

I lived here in Pittsburgh all my life almost it sucks here so bad the crime is horrible. It's a shame I can't leave my place without my firearm at my hip. And the schools suck I don't know where he's getting his information at. They are so bad. We homeschooled the kids. And we do get alot of sunny days. Here. In the summer like a typical 90 ° weather other then that he's right

One of the cons noted was that Mt. Lebo schools have no busses. Having grown up three in the 1960's and 70's I know and can share the reason. For those of you who may be in my generation and also grew up there you will remember our superintendent, Dr. Norman Green. Bussing kids across school districts was very big back then. It was done for among other reasons, to give disadvantaged kids an opportunity at a better if not safer educational experience. Dr. Green was all for bringing kids into Mt. Lebanon, but he did not want kids from Mt. Lebanon forced to go outside the district. The only way to avoid bussing was to avoid busses. Now you know the rest of the story.

I moved from upstate NY to the Pgh area 40 years ago. I would describe the winters here as mild. The snow removal however, could stand improvement. I love my 100 year old house. The floor joists are 2"-6" and spaced 12" apart. The outside walls are 1 foot thick poured concrete with steel rebar and internal airspace. This house isn't going anywhere. The taxes in my town are reasonable and the school system is great. Just because a day has some clouds doesn't mean the day is shot.
