A car for the ages!
Awesome Cruiser,. mine is an 89 model with rectangle lights, brown too and being resprayed after a full restoration but it is going back to its original grey colour, should be finished in December.
Had a turbo, took it off, and never got ir back on after the rebuild. It can always go back on.
Needs a turbo 5 to 6 psi boost. I made mine so much better in the hills. And changed to 12v, much better for parts in austrailia.
Superb work.. well done! Very pleased to see it hasnt been turboed as well. Cold start sounded superb and the warm restart was astonishing, nice lively tempo to the starter motor on the cold start. Oil pressure gauge appears to be pegging out, does it come down when warm - if not consider changing the oil pressure relief valve in the timing cover, an aftermarket part is available that is longer and picks up more of the unscored bore.. if you google "duncan toyota diesel 2h site" you'll find my 2H/12HT Google Site.. it has a link to a guide on this valve.. Congrats on the work!
Interference engine or not?
Yes, this is an interference motor.

We had an invasion of those gypsy moths this past summer.
Centipede at 5:23! 😂
How much do you charge for this?
If I were to charge for this, it'd be like 100 bucks an hour or so, not sure, but I don't do this for a living...
Thank you very much for the video. What year is your LS? I have a 2001, is it the same process?
Mine is an 04, but it's the same for both cars.
How many miles did you have on it before changing the timing belt?
105,000
Hey man, you've got critters climbing around in your vid
The darn invasion we had...gypsy moths...
runs SO smooth! nice
Made it look easy….Respect!!!
Great video nice work
I'm socked these don't have timing chains for how reliable they are
The belt was chosen to attain as low a level of noise as possible from these engines.
@@themisccontentchannel700 yeah I figured that but most of these Toyota engines even in the la has the timing chain
Good job! Is there a way to lock the cam to keep from moving, especially since you have to remove the crank pulley? Great cars, BTW. And it looks very pretty and peaceful where you live. Thanks for sharing.
Not sure about locking cams. You only remove the belt after removing the harmonic, so if the marks move during that process, you realign everything before removing t-belt. Just don't fumble around the cams when the belt is off, they are jumpy and will move suddenly. In fact, my right-hand side one jumped when I was trying to get the belt on, but obviously, I was able to realign the marks.
Cool ass ride

Awesome to see some one have so much joy
New subscriber ! Awesome project
Thanks for the sub!
Good job thank for sharing
Thanks.
Did you use any sealant on the thermostat housing?
I used FIPG. Thanks for asking.
After I replace my timing belts before I start closing things up I always spin the engine few times with a socket to make sure timing marks did not move and that the belt is staying on. Extra precaution... you don't want any mistakes on interference engines. That would be the death of them.
Yes, I have done same. Sorry, didn't show on video.
Excellent video
Thanks!
Like the channel name. Interesting the algorithm brings me here.
Thank you!
Beautiful car
Thank you, yes, it is quite awesome!
what is the problem? Your oil pressure is about 16-17 psi. That's not low at idle...
Sorry to respond late. I have since rebuilt the engine. The issue there is the engine would shut off because the pump was taking a few seconds to build pressure. There is a recent video of the engine rebuild. I also have the truck running and going great at this point. Thanks for watching.
The!epic ! 🎥
How long does it take to charge using a home charging dock? Also, do you notice any increase in your electric bill?
The home charging on my truck is via Rivian's proprietary level 2 charger that I installed myself. I think it delivers 11kw or 22 miles per hour. So a it would take about 6 hours from 0 miles to full. But it slows down after 80% charge, so takes a bit longer once you reach those higher percentages of charge.
Also, the electricity bill did go up but it's in direct correlation to the charging times and kilowatts used. ORU has a program where u can sign up for overnight charging at 4 cents a kilowatt. so 135 kw would cost $5 dollars and 40 cents.
That's a beautiful spec

Great car, and even better intro music. What is that song and who is the artist?
Sorry to respond so late, will check to see the artist, but was a generic track from the video editing software.

Hold the brake to the floor, Hold the throttle to the floor, then let off the brake...... Its even more harsh :)
Awesome! I'm gonna built a turbo on my 2H too

That's definitely expected considering it's 0-60mph time is 3 seconds. 😆
Totally taken by surprise!!

Which Turbo did you use please?
Home built turbo. It's a supra 7mge unit with a 05010-turbine housing for the diesel 6 inline variant. Everything else is just custom made.
BEUTIFUL😌👍
I also have an HJ60 with turbo. What´s your fuelmilage at 80 km/h?
I've gotten as good as 23mpg.
