I do believe external power is needed to shoot raw. I don’t use the ronin to power the R5C. I think I tried once when testing options but it wouldn’t work. The R5 may be able to though. Hopefully a firmware update will release soon to help with battery power. Until then, may have to work with what we got. I currently use the battery grip on the R5C. Its my B cam now since I have the C70. But the battery grip is a decent option from external power.

Appreciate it! I typically will shoot about 2-2.5 hours of footage with the R5C during an 8-9 hour day. Most of the ceremony dancing is with the R5, but will prob do R5C this year for all reception. Anyway- to answer…the Nano 2 (98w) will last me from the prep until the reception-thats with doing alot of ceremony footage. The Nano one (50w) I have to change out 2x, sometimes 3 if I’m filming more than usual. I have two of the nano 1, and one Nano 2. I’ve switched out alot of ways using the rig and the batteries. Handheld and gimbal. The Nano 2 is best for handheld, like I mention…but if I switch to the gimbal, i have to use the smaller nano 1. So I still have power left on the 2. If I use all three batteries I wouldn’t need to charge any during the day, unless it was a long day with a long ceremony and toasts. I’ll link the chargers I use as well. They charge the Nano’s really fast. But I’d say if you do all hand held, two nano 2s will be best. If doing all gimbal, 2-3 nano ones. If a mix…what I have works best.

Thanks! I use Film Convert to help with the look. I shoot C Log 3 now with the R5C, but this was shot on the R5C on a Rec709 color profile, not C Log 3. I used Native Luts from Forestry Films. I shoot solo and sometimes have a second shooter. Some shots were also with the R6 and EOS R. during ceremony and toasts. However now I replaced the R with the R5. My A camera is the R5C. B cam is R5 and C cam is R6. Most of this was shot with the RF 24-70. I typically use the EF 50 1.2 for most weddings.

Planning adapt sigma 24-70 2.8 for half a price of RF version. AF and IS works almost identical as RF lens. Also would be great to see your thoughts or some tips about R5c in your channel ;) Cheers.

This is with a 50mm 1.2...I usually shoot couples at 2.0 but no more than 2.8.
