I Think I Am A Soul (Suzzy Roche) I think I am a soul, I think I am a soul The same old soul I’ve always been The soul that I am never felt innocent The soul that I am you can see through if you want to Just a ghost Never meant to go astray Floatin’ around Fourteenth Street every day Shopping for tomatoes, stopping at the light No one even knows me, still I turned out all right I think I am a soul, who knows I heard that souls can roam the universe The soul that I am, well it could’ve been worse The soul that I am gets lonesome like a million others Just a ghost Never meant to go astray You get your set of cards and you play I think I am a soul, Lord knows Can’t you shine your ever-loving light on me The soul that I am begs for mercy The soul that I am loves the night sky, and the moon’s face, and the silent singing stars Never meant to go astray Floatin' around Fourteenth Street every day
Saw ELP live three times back in the day, well done to this band for carrying the sound into the future.
More stage antics are required
One of my favorite ELP songs; I saw ELP in 1977 and in 1993, and they didn’t play “Trilogy”. So it’s especially Wonderful to hear the Manticore Band’s spot-on rendition!
Good to see Lucy and Suzzy performing again. I miss them.
Nice job everyone. One of the absolute best from ELP.
Is all their music like this? I'm looking at a show in a week that will be at least 1 hour-1.5 hours. I don't see how I could, how anyone could, enjoy this for the whole show. I mean, I could understand if this was a study of some kind to be appreciated & contemplated, but enjoyed? Any suggestions, please?
This is their cover of a King Crimson song. Pat Mastelotto has been one of King Crimson’s drummers for many years. I enjoyed their Crimson covers most during the show. Their own originals were also very enjoyable (to me). But I would say they are of a comparable genre (if that helps in your assessment).
Also check out David Rathje’s channel for another one of their songs from the show, as well as Stick Men, and both Mastoletto and Markus Reuter are also 2/3 of Stick Men.
I checked out a show by Stickmen not long ago, which is a simal band with 2 of the 3 members of this one. The music may be a bit of an aquired taste, but since I was listening to King Crimson as kid, I must have aquired it early on. I think their compsotions, angular as the may be do follow a certain logic, which is more than what I get from a lot of left of center rock music. Listen to some King Crimson (maybe start with Discipline), then go to the show, and maybe you too will have acquired the taste...
Yes, people do enjoy music like this. "Level Five" is from the King Crimson album The Power to Believe. You should give it a listen. It's very unconventional and it can be a challenge to digest, but those are just a couple of things that fans appreciate about it.
Thanks. Now I know what drugs to take for the free show Thursday.
Please do not dance Natalie. You look like Elaine on Seinfeld when dancing. Your band lost its magic after Jen Turner left the band. Nothing worth listening too.
Rachel Flowers, the soul of Keith is living inside you and guiding your playing!
They really are brilliant live
Please remove this video. It's poor quality and you are stealing future income from a band who need every penny to tour.
Or maybe the video is introducing the band to people who might be interested in the band's music and who might buy their albums or go to their shows....
Great stuff! Please post any other videos you have from the BBT show.
We do not condone any videos being posted from this show or indeed any other shows on this tour. We would far prefer that people come to the shows and watch them properly rather than filming, which is distracting for and inconsiderate towards other audience members, not to mention for the band and crew, and really doesn't help to promote the band in any meaningful way. Our official live videos serve that purpose. Thanks.
@@bigbigtrainband Agree with respecting the wishes of the band. Been doing all our family can do to support BBT buying every version of the new album and being a tour patron. Love, love the new album. Thank you for creating some of the best music ever created!
Wow! I hope they play it in Boston, March 5. Thanks for sharing!
