Forest Dwelling Project: Extension Walls
We're building a small extension (3x3m) to the house with a similar style of making walls from trees from the land. These are fresh cut, not seasoned trees, so pretty heavy. First part of lifting the logs is not yet on video.

Visit to our off the grid tiny house in Central Portugal to maintain the land and the house. Luckily the weather was mild with a few days of rain. Now 5 years after the 2019 fires, native trees start to grow back nicely.

Forest dwelling project (month 26): hammock floor
มุมมอง 281ปีที่แล้ว
From the mezzanine we have an amazing view through the windows upstairs and we didn't want to obscure the view with a balustrade. We mostly considered a glass balustrade but were concerned about the weight that it brings on the structure, and it is also pricey. We then remembered some tiny house videos with loft netting, or hammock floor. These are usually square and that clearly doesn't work f...
Snow and no electricity, get used to it
มุมมอง 101ปีที่แล้ว
It is quite common here in Poland (even close to Warsaw) that electricity breaks down when there is storm or a lot of snow. Not all villages have good power cables. I was just into making a video about how we heat the house when the electricity went off, and stayed off for the next 8h... i learned, for heating we are prepared but for light and cooking not. Hi, I'm not sure of the name. We call it "Sparky". It's a large metal sanding disc. It cuts whole chunks away. Thereafter we sand with discs with 40, 80 and 120 fineness. Last step was the finest sand paper. we use 2 different angle grinders (DeWalt and Bosch) and a DeWalt sanding machine for the last sanding phase
