The mindset and presence of hierarchy and dominance that pervades most workplaces can affect even well-intentioned, empathetic managers. We all need to practice more self-awareness and MI/communication skills.

Excellent video! Great examples of why MI is so valuable to move people to change if practiced skillfully. But as Ben Miller says (paraphrasing), the attitude is really important. Techniques are empty without the spirit behind it. It's like words without the music. ❤

Mooi om te zien dat er nu ook internationaal aandacht komt voor het toepassen van Motivational Interviewing binnen organisaties/bedrijfsleven en bij leiderschapsvraagstukken. Ook in Nederland krijg ik dit soort vragen steeds vaker. Ik vermoed dat het niet lang meer zal duren voor de er veel meer bedrijven Motivational Interviewing gaan ontdekken.
