Hello, my name is Doug, and I’m a 3D artist, and designer. My tutorials are for anyone who would like to learn Design spark mechanical. I mainly create tutorial videos for Design spark mechanical, but will occasionally create videos for Corel draw, and other commonly used 3D programs. I appreciate the current 1000+ subscribers who watch my tutorials and are learning from the content. Since April 2024 I have taken a temporary break from creating videos but will resume sometime early 2025. Meanwhile, please enjoy the over 320 videos I currently have on my TH-cam channel. If you like the content, please consider liking and subscribing. As always, Thanks! For watching.

This tutorial will show you how to add colors and textures to your design spark mechanical file, within design spark mechanical. Keep in mind that DSM is not designed as a texturing/rendering program and is more a cad design program. You can do basic texturing in design spark mechanical, but for more realistic effects, it would be better to use programs like blender, and rhino. 7.0.

This is really well explained. Very easy to follow along. Thanks!
I learned quite a bit from your video, thanks for posting!
Thanks very much this saves so much time making bolts
How do you show the thickness of the object after a pull with the dimension tool? I searched high and low and can't find the answer!
Thank you, this helped me today!
Thanks!
it doesn't work with interiors shots, I took a viewort cature to the scene I wanna reflected then used a olished material then set the lights but not working, do you have any ideas?
Object, convert to mesh and then you can modify it all.
Hey where can I find this app
it's available on the design spark mechanical website.
The video I was looking for. Thank-you
Glad I could help
Where did you get that background?
I opened the program and took a screen capture.
Great video thanks. I am struggling with one simple thing. I cannot rotate the object. It won't rotate, flip nothing. If i click that little axis symbol in the lower left corner all it does it will turn it from the left to the right, bottom - top, and front and back. But I cannot move it as I need to. Why is that?
Sorry for the late comment. Control "A" on the keyboard will select the entire part, and the part color will change from green to orange. After this, select the move tool, and you will see the rotate handles on the part. They are green, red, and blue. Each color rotates the part in a different direction. Click on the color direction you wish to rotate and rotate the part. Hope this helps.
Thankyou DSM master
Thank you. Great tutorial 👍
Your knowledge on DSM is outstanding, I love learning from your vids❤
How do you not have more subs. You cover so much content.keep it up 👍
Thanks! I've taken a break, because I have over 300 plus videos.
I learnt a lot watching this, thankyou very much
It took you 10minutes to tell me what a already knew. Still fuckall on how to cur from coraldraw
What is this name
This is a basic "Flange Bracket"
Hi, why my DS mechanical doesn't show DXF option in the "Save as Type" list?
Unfortunately, dxf is no longer available on the free version.
HI sir, what rendering software are you using? Thanks
Rhino 7.0
Nice and simple explanation, thank you
Excellent. Thank you!
One big thing I wish they had in MOI3D is the measurements in a box as you draw them so you could punch the number in after clicking instead of moving to the sidebar to do that. Really appreciate the videos. Thanks!
Me too, and you are welcome.
14:58 It will be much faster to drag the center part of the move tool to the center side of the curved surface and then just "up to" and click on the tube and it will form perfectly to it.
Great! thank you.
@@dailey3drevolve You are welcome.
👍 *Promosm*
plasticity vs moi3d which one very powerful?
I like plasticity, but they are both excellent.
@@dailey3drevolve thanks
can you please give the video link for rebuild, Reconstruction?
I am having the same problem when I make an obj in Bryce and import it to reality slicer, however when I reinstalled the slicer program I would get a ton of different measurements for my project each one being different, I contacted reality about it , they noticed the issue as well and are trying to fix it ! Odd they wouldn't have found this problem in beta testing .
Sorry, I haven't gotten back with you. I have taken a temporary break from TH-cam. Unfortunately, some of these programs are "MM' base, so they have to covert parts made in inches, into millimeters, this can make the parts very small. I'm glad you contacted them, and they are working on a solution. Regards. Doug
Hi, can this 3D model be converted into 2D views?
Not with the current free design spark mechanical program. Unfortunately, current free versions have done away with most import/export options.
Hi. DSM is not able to open STL files anymore, people are looking for other CAD. What is your suggestion?
I like Fusion 360, and Onshape. Onshape has a free version and works with stl files.
@@dailey3drevolveonshape is online, cloud based application, don't like this.
Wow. I didn't know one could copy a picture into DS and trace the profile. Thanks!!
You are welcome. It's very useful.
Even installing an old version it's not possible because you have to login, and the program doesn't run because they disabled old versions.
Design spark mechanical wants users to buy their paid programs, so they got rid of most of the useful import/export functions on the free versions.
Merci super
Thank! you.
Your videos on DesignSpark are superb - thanks for making them!
I like how you share so much information into short videos, fantastic. New sub thanks very much
You are welcome. I have taken a short break from TH-cam, but will be back early 2025.
Hi. What version of coreldraw do you use? Im new into the laser hobby. I want to design and cut my own files. Sometimes use a purchased design and edit on it. What version would you recon is best for this. Would the corel draw standard be applicable for as i said im just starting out.
Sorry, I haven't gotten back with you. I have taken a temporally break from TH-cam and have not been checking my messages that often. I will be back early 2025. I use version 2018 for Corel Draw.
fr you can't open a friggin dxf file into a cad program? are they serious.....
I feel your pain. They just want you to buy their paid products.
Is it possible to change the colours in the 2D drawing views without affecting the model colours?
Which “class” is this-
Hello! The image is not displayed after the SPTE import is configured in the manufacturing steps. Where do you adjust it?
I love your videos on how to design stuff. I've learned so much. I do have a "wish" though. As much as I like designspark, I've noticed a lot of frustration over V6 and the removal of some file format export formats,.. DFX? With this in mind, I'm trying to learn OnShape. My wish is you would create tutorials for OnShape. Learning a 3D Design software is a big investment of time and its important not to be limited by the software's functionality. For a hobbyist, it doesn't make sense to pay for a subscription when a free version of something offers more functionality. Just my thoughts. Keep up the good work.
Outstanding! Thanks for sharing.
Hi there! I really enjoyed your video on creating threads. I have DSM 6.0 (2023 R1) but when I see you pulling down the threads, the threads are being created as you pull down the threads. When I try, I just see a shadow of the threads creating on one plane but aren't visible until I let go of the mouse button. Do you know of a setting that I need to set in order to visually see the threads being made? I don't know if I'm explaining this correctly or not.
I'm not sure, as I don't use a mouse, I use my laptop's track pad. Maybe that has something to do with it. Try your mouse settings.
Thanks for posting!
You're welcome
So this doesnt work anymore...
You can still use project; you just can't import a logo.
Prost!
These tutorials are great! I'm so glad I found you!! Thanks!
Glad you like them!
You sound like an airplane pilot capitan announcing the cabin that we're about to land. You missed to say "Thank you for youtubing with us. Have a nice day". =)
You too.
I am learning a lot from your videos. Thanks for making them. 👍
Glad to hear that!
