Why was this line closed? It doesn’t make sense to close through routes. Loads of senseless railway closures around the country, Colne to Skipton being another example. Love the rendition of Wonderful World too.

I left Marple in 1973, aged 9, but still remember that amazing playground around the station and canal. These pictures are just like being back there. And the piano works as a brilliant soundtrack.

Is the station at 1:55 Middlewood upper? I was always intrigued how you accessed it and the Middlewood lower station beneath which I think can be seen in 2:03 with the DMU going over the viaduct above the Manchester to Buxton line

Nice video but the Poyton station @ 2.07 - 2.11 are not on the MBMR, but are the LNWR station on the Cheadle Hulme - Stafford line.

I would suggest you learn it first, get it up to speed and then post it on YT.

Excellent Tim, thank you, went to Kings in 60's from Poynton and worked in Macc Booking Office 68-76, worked late shift the night the Bollington line closed

There are a couple around 2:00 that look like Poynton on Macc Stockport line, great video, thanks

The viaduct over the Esk is now part of the Cinder Track, a lovely walk from Whitby to Robin Hood’s Bay, and beyond.

Tim arranged and played this tune at my Dad’s funeral. It helped give my Dad the funeral he wanted and I am so grateful to Tim for making a sad occasion, more joyful.

I remember during the very early 60’s my mum had taken my brother and I to see relatives and we had to get the train back from High Lane station. It was a cold and dark night with snow forecast and the station master came into the waiting room to tell us that the train was running late. He was so kind to us and brought soup out for my brother and I. Such a great memory of kindness that I will never forget. The lovely station has long gone.

You are right there is a touch of Listen with Mother, but I like it!!

I was so relieved to find the organ in a good state and free from mice infestation or flood which was my greatest fear. The organ will sing out again in worship hopefully before the end of the year.

It was taken in an unheated church so the tuning is not a brilliant as it usually is.
