I'm a 22 year old Entrepreneur, documenting my life and learnings here.
Despite scoring a 99.1%ile in CAT 2023, I skipped going to IIMs and top B schools in favour of building a business and figuring things out on my own.
I think the formal education system is screwing a lot of people over, and I strive to show young people that there's a viable alternative that doesn't need any university degree.
I share my views on self-improvement, growth, education, up-skilling, money and business. And more importantly, all in the context of your 20s.

hwy bro Im from the National Institute of Technology (top 10 engineering institutes of India), I'd say, u are 100% correct, its all irrelevant...i can totally relate to u...and honestly, most of the people ...I'd say they are more like saap ( aisa feel hota h saap paal rha hu)....even i really wanted to earn money and get into the business....but could not cause of extreme college curriculum! except of a few!
Having the same college experience 😕
What problem are you facing?
It’s alright, like I said focus on the other stuff and start building yourself properly. Thanks for watching!

I'm choosing path 2 because i really want to learn. I really enjoy studying all three subjects and after a long time i feel passionate for something.
👍
nice learning khyaat ❤🔥
You can follow the Path 1 after having chosen Path 2. In some or probably most cases, you can't do the vice versa. Choose Path 1 only if you're confident about yourself and can survive the struggle. Nice to hear your story though.
❤
good luck man
that's actually the reality...and btw an advice for u...pls go with making videos of tips for cat aspirants to crack....with ur real experience it would be helpful....thank u
It completely depends on which path you wanna take in life. If you wanna opt for something little untraditional then great follow that Path 1 and figure it out. If you wanna get into something too specific like PE/VC, Investment Banking, etc THEN YOU NEED A GREAT DEGREE FROM A REALLY GREAT COLLEGE. Figure on what lines atleast that you wanna make your career. Don’t let a 99.1%iler inspire you to not pursue something that you know you can eventually crack it
Online ki offline??
Don't watch this video until you get 99+ percentile in cat or xat.
Expecting 99.7 and watching
hope you will reach a million in 5-6 months!
any thoughts on going through path 2 and building path 1 simultaneously
Advice for you : please make videos with both aspects and properly researched so that your followers take a rational call.
tbh people glorified path 1 these days more but peeps who are watching this video to take guidance here's a reality check for you , I didn't went to college and studied and upskilled myself on my own through courses through internet but trust me when i say that path 1 which is uncertain is risky for various reasons he said most people choose part 1 because they are scared of uncertainity right but why? obviously when you are confused and not skilled enough and just starting out right after 12th standard lets say you want to follow your hobbies or passion but its not rational and when you go for it blindly coz ppl on the internet inspired you to take riskier path and believe that it is your self created path which leads you to freedom , this is complete irrationality lots of factors when choosing a career comes into play like how are you planning to upskill yourself , and network matters which you get when you go to a good educational institution only , there are educational institution out there with expertise for you to say its worthless. bro they are there learn from them understand what interest you , earn your own money traditionally and then focus on something that you really want to do coz tbh doing it with parents money or someother way when you are not earning or not upskilled enough backfires people who made it through part 1 have various edges too which obviously they don't share like oyo founder - Ritesh agarwal , who went to peter thiel fellowship program to upskill and implemented it but not everyone is lucky, skilled and aware enough to be part of such upskilling edges whereas institutions through traditional education gives you education to figure out where you wanna step in either way you have to figure out on your own but with institutions and education you become more aware and then take your rational decision . I feel like this video is focused on only one aspect of the field but when it comes to our crucial decisions guys take a rational and more analysed approach so that you don't fall on the negative side of abyss .
This is such an important thing that most people do not realise in India. My brother did not pass out from a top college, nor did he get a good package. But he stayed resilient, joined a startup, skilled up and now he earns 40LPA, more than any of my cousins who followed the conventional route. Its really motivating to see such examples. Great content. I read your newsletter too, looking forward for more 😊
U could also Take path 1 by choosing path 2 who said b schools are only for jobs There may be a possibility if u would have choosen to opt for taking admission into top b schools you would have ended up figuring out what you want to do B schools not only provide education as we have access to almost 99.9% of the content nowadays But there are other pros too Boosting confidence Networking Soft skills Personality development etc
Brother I scored 32 marks this year what should i do i have 2 years of gap because of UPSC, now i am thinking for repeating, i am 22 years old , what should i do. I wanted to join iims to make my parents proud and improve my financial condition, I am really worried about my career , cried alot when response sheet was out thinking of my parents.
I completely disagree with your perspective! It seems like you are born with a silver spoon that you can try and explore, good for you man, but not everybody is. While Path--One (self-directed learning and skill acquisition) offers significant potential for growth, freedom, and income, it assumes a level of financial stability that not everyone possesses. For many individuals, the structure and certainty provided by Path Two (traditional education leading to a job) are necessary to secure financial security and stability. It would be valuable to acknowledge that both paths have their merits and that financial constraints can play a significant role in determining which path is viable for an individual.I don't come from very rich background, to me everything you said sounded weird and I couldn't relate with it at all!
While I agree with you that both paths have their merits, i don't think financial constraints have as big of a bearing on it as you might think. I know plenty of people who have come from very disadvantageous financial situations, and have still built a life for themselves without any formal education. In a lot of cases, finances are just an excuse for people to opt for the safer path. Thanks to the internet, almost everyone has access to world class education and resources at their finger tips. Even though you are not from a privileged background, you have access to internet as is obvious by your comment. This means you have the ability to upskill yourself, and find the path that adds meaning and value (both financial and otherwise) to your life. I'm not saying that's the case with you, but most people will choose not to do it because it's harder and takes more discipline than just being told what to do by an institution or employer.
@@khyattdesai Bro seriously excuses?? access to the internet?? I had a word with my friend about your video, he made me realise that you cannot understand my perspective and you reply made it more clear. But you know there is nothing wrong with that, you don't know what it's like working multiple jobs at young age to get your family going. And brother I see your point, but I think it overlooks the real challenges people face when money is tight. Just having internet access doesn’t mean someone has the time, energy, or support to focus on self-directed learning, especially if they’re working multiple jobs or supporting their family. Traditional education gives structure and stability, which many people dependetes on to secure jobs because employers often value formal qualifications. Discipline and motivation are important, but they’re not the only hurdles,, guidance, mentorship, and the right tools also matter. For many, choosing traditional education isn’t about avoiding risk; it’s about survival and building a secure future. Both paths have value, but the choice depends heavily on someone’s situation, not just their access to the internet. I see your it's your first video and it is doing pretty well, I'm happy for you. I hope you could grow this channel all the best. 👍
@@kaartike-z5m I really appreciate you being very unemotional and genuine about your disaagreements. I think ultimately it's upto the individual to choose which path they deem right for themselves. Good luck to you too, I'm sure you're going to do very well!
@@khyattdesai Path 1 has a higher level of uncertainty...like it's more of an "All or Nothing" but Path 2 is more viable for someone who has responsiblities(like people depending on them) as it provides a guarantee of a minimum income
Looking forward to more of such insightful content
Thanks! Soon...
Very well said Khyatt. As someone who has been hell bent on getting into the top 3/4 bschools of the country for the past three years, suddenly since the past few days I've realised that now the opportunity cost in terms of time that I have invested is insane and life would've been a lot different otherwise (could've been more enriching otherwise and could've learnt practical skills instead of quant concepts). Although I've gotten 99+%ile now for two years in a row, but now I feel MBA is suddenly not that attractive anymore especially since the top schools require an insane 99.9+. This was the video I needed to see today. All the best man!
Thanks for the comment Raghav, much appreciated! We have a world of possibilities in front of us, even outside traditional career paths...I hope you get what you're aiming for, good luck!
Did you not end up getting any calls despite a 99+ percentile?
Just read your Newsletter The Butterfly Effect...and came to see your first video.....best wishes for your YT ❤
Thank you for the wishes, hope you enjoyed the letter and the video!
Amazing brother!!!! Honestly speaking I myself am in the same phase !! Looking forward for more content
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video, more coming soon. Good luck!
Great 👍🏻
Thank you!
Appreciate your perspective bro....but it would be better if you also inform about your socio economic background. ... Because which path you choose also depends upon your socio - economic status...generally people from lower middle class background ( like me) opt for path 2.... Beause we want to get out of the position we are currently into and education is something that we can rely upon for that.... And i don't think there's any harm in opting for path 2 both paths have their own pros ans cons!
I absolutely agree with you that there is no objectively better path, and that both paths have their pros and cons. But with that being said, I can definitely tell you that path one will give you more freedom, adventure and meaning in your life. And socio economic background doesn't necessarily have to deter you from choosing path 1. I know a lot of people who have come from extremely fragile financial conditions, and still built a meaningful life opting for path one.
For me sustaining my family is not possible so I had to opt for path 2
Hi bro I was in path 2 for most of my life. Im 24 yrs now and left my job when I was earning 22 lpa, now Im at 0. Prepared pretty hard for CAT, luck wasnt there on the D Day and performed at my worst. But I had the potential for 99.5 plus. Now Im planning to go on Path 1 to explore and figure things out. My goal is to do something of my own rather than to work for someone else. Your video is exactly my story (minus cat score)
Appreciate the comment and sincerity my friend...being at 0 is one of the biggest advantages you have, the game has only just begun. Good luck!
Masters In abroad is better or MBA in India and staying here is better. Which will help to boost our career and get high paying salary
None of them are objectively better or worse. It all depends on what you want. But i would advise against making a decision based solely on money or salary. Instead think about what you are good at, what you enjoy doing, and figure out where you will have the best odds of success. Good luck!
@khyattdesai I am currently working in it sector as a Software Engineer and I am not interested in coding and technical stuff. So I'm planning for doing an MBA and I hope it will boost my career.
@khyattdesai Please do a detailed video on this topic masters in abroad vs MBA in India comparison and salary range for an masters student returning back to India after few years of work experience in abroad
