Damn. That’s the nicest ‘28 Bert I’ve ever seen. I’ve been in love with this boat since I was a teen and had the opportunity to fish from one. Retirement is now about a year away. I WANT ONE! I believe the production run was about 18 years on these. I’ve seen them priced anywhere from $20K to $100K, depending on condition and options. I’ve gotta figure it out pretty soon. Life is short, and I’m getting no younger.

The Sou'Wester 42 is truly a classic gem but the interior layout is old fashion and lacks roominess. For 12.5' beam and 42+ feet, there should Lyle far better utilization of space.

If you are going to make a quick sales video, at least tell us where to go for more detailed information, and include a direct link to the boats listing.

IMO, all of the IPs are rather ugly and they sail very poorly.

Beautiful boat, but I don't understand why someone with that much money to burn would buy an old boat with outdated technology, and most rigging reaching the end of it's useful life.

What size are the tanks: fuel (range), water, black. what about heating and a/c. Hanging locker space? Cruising speed and fuel consumption at that speed. Hours on engine and generator. Is there a wing engine? So many questions left unanswered.

I concur with previous comments, a poorly made, uninformative video.

Three things that I noticed that I think detract from the showing of this boat, but could be fixed very easily: 1) the cheap deck chairs in the cockpit; just stow them away somewhere; 2) the ripped dingy cover; maybe better to take it off; 3) the bed are made terribly; get better spreads or at least make sure the ones on the boat are not wrinkled as if someone just got up from a nap. Small points but they make me question other things that I can’t see on the boat.

Mid 90’s Hatteras hulls were the most solid hulls ever built. She’s as solid as a battle tank. And this one is outfitted with pre-emission engines which if in descent shape, might provide service for another 35 years.
