my guy, you could have simplified this a lot for your students. Get rid of all the stupid extra steps in this
You gave some game today!
Yall got a video of the rig layout?
Hello, can you make one with the external render and try with the external one and it gets complicated
You don’t know how helpful this was. I have spent months trying to figure out how to get internal renderer out to my monitors. Contacted manufacturers etc to no avail. It turned out the solution was simple - custom rerenders! Thanks!
Hello Eric I have now watched many of your videos on the subject of Smaart, very interestingly explained. How do I get your documentation, can I buy it? I would like to deepen the topic with my audio teaching rings. Thank you very much
These are all incredibly interesting and very well explained, thanks a lot!
Your vedio in hindi language
Hi! Thanks for the video, but can you explain why you don't to keep the default trim? As far as I understand, those trim are only to keep better compatibility and transportability of your mix in a real Atmos or 5.1 speakers environnement. Surround speaker are usually -3dB in a 5.1 setup so it's better to keep those. I'm not sure if there is something I'm missing.
Hi there. I erase the default fold down attenuation for height and rear channels for a couple reasons. One, because I am new to Atmos mixing and sources online suggested this would be a good idea for music mixes. Two, because I don't want mix elements panned upstairs and behind to be reduced in level when the mix is collapsed to 5.1, stereo, binaural, etc. From my research, I’ve learned that center and surround channels are typically attenuated when downmixing for the following reasons: - To minimize phase issues. - To keep center channel audio from being two loud when produced by two channels. - To reduce the chance of clipping when multiple channels are summed. - To simulate head shadowing effects, which reduce the apparent level of sounds coming from behind. In response to those reasons, I am careful in my mixing to place critical mix elements at distinct speaker positions to avoid phaseyness, I watch out for headroom issues, and I’m not interested in the downmix algorithm simulating head shadowing effects. What I really want is an element to maintain its relative level in a mix, regardless of what playback system it is reproduced on. If I pan something important to the heights or rears, I want that element to stay important when the mix is folded down. Thus I eliminate the default -3 dB attenuation in the downmix settings. Perhaps I will change my mind on this later, but for the moment these are my reasons. Eric
hello and thank you very much. I followed your instructions by setting the analog knob to minimum and I had the same range as yours (about 132). I also created the window for the pressure levels but it disappears when I go back to see rta or magnitude. is there a way to have the db pressure window while also seeing rta?
File Transfer--yes! I like this better than digging to get to the SD card after every shoot!
HI. Thanks for this very useful video. I wanted to ask you. Is it possible to calibrate the microphone with the analog gain of the audio interface set to minimum? this way I wouldn't have to worry about the right position of the knob which would never be the same
Hello. Sure, if you have a calibrator, you can calibrate Smaart's SPL measurement with the mic preamp set to minimum. This will make recall of the setting easy and ensure the greatest amount of headroom.
Merci
I can do this 🎉
Total lifesaver. Was having so much issues with my routing. Your instructions were clear and concise. Thanks!
my phantom power is a darker grey and simply says "off" and i cannot change this
Channel input setting might be set to LINE or OFF, etc.
Very nice 👍👍👍
This is actually the best tutorial I've come across so far! Kudos. And your keyboard is alright. :)
Cheesburger? or House for Home?? ;-) Great vid thanks
Great series! Very helpful thank you
Great stuff - thanks for all the details. Been ATMOS for 2 years now and always great to see other's workflows
Yes it is! So much to learn in the Atmos world.

How do u send sound from mic to monitor, aux, main output
Hey i like the video...iam a beginner..
I'm Trying this Sidechaing technique on three 7.1.2 beds for a post production mix (Fab L-2). Is it an issue that the limiter trigger is summed mono? Won't there be audible ducking on channels that dont actually need to be ducked with this configuration?
Thanks for this. I used that Sennheiser mic a few years ago and am now setting up the Rode. This was a good refresher

Thanks very much Eric, very useful for me too.
Awesome! Completely useful for my case. Thx Eric! Big fan!
Thanks! I appreciate it!
Thank you for just getting straight to the good stuff in these videos! Saving me so much time, and now my Smaart setup works how I want with no fuss! Much appreciated dude.
Thanks!
awesome
Geez, I hadn't seen one of those portable white Macs since, what 2009 or so? Is it still working? I really loved the keyboard on those suckers.
THANNK YOU .PLS SHARE MORE VIDEOS ON ATMOS MIX.
Great work
How do scan for frequencies in a different cities?
This is going to be a dumb question. Learning this from scratch. no education in sound at all. I want to start using this in a club in downtown nashville, where we have 100's of wireless thigns going on all the time. I have no clue what to buy. we currently own 2 psm 300's, 2 psm900's 2 ULXD mics, 2 QLX mics.
Just give basic video about Dolby renderer, especially the difference between 5.0 and Atmos.
Sir,I am just first time in Dolby Atmos.Thank you 😊
Thanks man you're really a hero❤
thank you Eric
Đỉnh cao vậy bạn ❤
Watched it all
I watched the entire series and it was great! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! That means a lot.
can we download your template please?
Do you have a complete 0 to advance course about M32?
The pink noise is not present
Hey, nice channel. I am having trouble including the meta data when I render out my ADM files. The option to "apply program level meta-data" is greyed out and when I load the ADM file into a new session, the audio is fine but the object meta-data is missing. Any idea why that would be?
Thanks! Sorry, I am still new to Atmos and haven't faced that issue yet. That said, are you importing your ADM into Pro Tools? Does Pro Tools even read metadata from an ADM? II wouldn't expect it to.
Eric, you are doing an amazing educational job with these videos. Thank you so much!
Thanks! I am building a class for the fall.
