@@allibag we try to make all of our dinner reservations for 6pm … gives us time to see a show or something of that nature after 🙂
The Haven boarding area in NYC is soooo disappointing!!!

@@sherryhayespc Hi Sherry! I haven’t used the pullout so I can’t speak on that unfortunately but I’ve heard that you can request a mattress topper from your room steward for added comfort! Hope you have the best time this is one of my Favorite ships!
Pearl twice...Pride of America once....Bliss twice and going on the Joy in April then back to the Pride December 2026...the Haven is the only way to cruise, in our opinion.
@@markanderson4163 I totally agree!! Do you have a favorite ship? We have been on Breakaway, Escape, Bliss & Joy so far and the Bliss & Joy are amazing!
How much do you tip the butler
@@johnwylie5403 this is a very controversial topic! We actually have a video coming out about how much we tip because it’s so interesting and personal and I can’t wait to discuss!! To me it depends on what we have asked the Butlers to do..some that have done literally nothing and this last cruise our Butler was great but we don’t ask for much so we tip accordingly… I can say the range of tip we leave is between $100- $400 which might not seem like whole lot but we will breakdown what we ask for and what we expect! Thanks for sharing! What is the Haven? I've only cruised on Holland America so I'm trying to get real reviews from passengers of other cruise lines.
@@angelaharmon2543 hey Angela!! The Haven is the “ship within a ship” experience on Norwegian Cruise Line. Most of the rooms are located on the 17th and 18th floor and you have your own restaurant, bar, lounge, pool, hot tubs and outdoor sun deck exclusively for guests staying in the Haven! You definitely pay a premium for this area but with how crowded many of these mega ships have become it’s AMAZING to have access to this area as well as the rest of the ship with you’re feeling more “social” lol!!

Just booked our first cruise in over 10 years on NCL Escape and staying in the Haven with our two teenagers. One of them is a rather picky eater. Did you notice if the Haven restaurant can get food that's "off menu"? I imagine they would have access to stuff like chicken fingers for younger travelers but just wanted to see if you observed anything. Thank you.
@@marcstern36 I didn’t first hand notice that but they are very accommodating… my mom really enjoyed some of the lunch items over the dinner items and as long as you asked in advance ( meaning at lunch she would ask for something specific from that lunch menu to be served to her at dinner) and they always accomidated! If you talk to the restaurant staff early on in your stay, I can imagine they would be happy to help as much as they can!
We recently returned home from a fabulous 10-day trip on the Joy and it's so nice to see some of the staff we fell in love with, like Mark, Michael and Femmy (not to mention those Haven meals)! It was our first Haven experience and I am wondering - did you request certain snacks in your cabin? In general we didn't love the ones we got.
@@eedwards4603 that’s so funny that you said that because we didn’t love ours the first few cruises we were on so we learned to ask (in generalities) for things we do like such as mini sandwiches and cheese & crackers and we found that most of the time they try very hard to bring what you like as long as it’s reasonable! I’m so glad you had a fantastic Haven vacation 👏🏼
@@VittsonVacay Thanks, we're too reasonable, I think! We liked the cheese tray, the chocolate chips cookies and the chicken salad sandwiches, but most of the other stuff got tossed. I've seen other people ask for gummy bears, jelly beans or bowls of nuts but I didn't know if that was something special.

What time were you off the ship?
@@CPdiscipleofJC we were walked off the ship beginning at 8am from what I recall… I would advise gathering near the elevators around 7:30 because it gets VERY crowded in the haven lounge as people begin to gather … once they begin taking people off it goes quickly but the anticipation in the lobby gets a little tense in the am lol
gimbal stabilizer, and NO SMOKING anywhere should be the name of the game. Liked the video all in all!

@VittsonVacay It was my first time on Joy. It was a great ship and I would definitely do it again, although I missed having a studio section cause that's where I usually sail.

Been in the Haven a few times now on different NCL cruises. One annoying bit for me regarding the restaurant - why can't they understand how French press coffee carafe's work? the plunger is not meant to be at the bottom of the container, it should always stay at the top of the water level. It get's pushed down as you use it.
Oh wow I didn’t know that! I thought it’s supposed to brew for 3-5 min and then gets pushed all the way down to drink! Good to know 👍🏻

Thanks for the memories! We were in Haven on Joy a couple weeks after you. Analisa was our favorite server in the Haven restaurant!! And, Mark, the bar server you showed in the Horizon lounge was one of our faves as well! And, our girls got that bottle of wine with their pics on it, too! OMG - you're me! I LOVE that coin machine!!!!

@@JeffMelsonVlogs the “Breakaway Plus” class of ships are next level!! Having the Observation Lounge is a game changer!!! The Bliss and the Joy are my favorite ships… I liked the Breakaway and the Escape but not as much as the Bliss & Joy!
