video of my bushcraft life - six weeks alone in the wilderness.
this video is not about survival or anything dramatic, but rather a video journal of what some would call forty-two boring days repeating themselves one after another - eating, gathering firewood, making fire, collecting berries and gazing at the reindeer. yet, to me, that is the essence of life and you need nothing more to enjoy your existence.
i had 6kg of rice, my sleeping bag, a lavvu, 2 books and my camera. that is pretty much all. oh and a fishing rod and some coffee.
I think everyone should spend long periods of time ALONE as far away from other people & society as possible and experience the real world (as I like to call it) - you may find out who you truly are and quit playing the character you have played for others your whole life.
without the huge amounts of berries and the few fish I caught I would have probably gotten sick in the last two weeks or so as I felt REALLY weak. During the 6 weeks I lost about 16 kilograms of weight. six kilograms of rice is 24 000 calories so it's not a lot divided for each day. especially when you are constantly moving and doing something.
there are two open cabins in the area and a kammi (moss hut maybe in English?). though I dont like to stay in the cabins very much, on two occasions i spent a night in one of the cabins while doing my laundry.
