Mickey Mouse in "The Chain Gang" by Burt Gillett.
Released on the 18th of August, 1930, "The Chain Gang" was directed by Burt GIllett as the 21st cartoon starring Mickey Mouse. Yet again sporting a crack team of animators, this cartoon was animated by Les Clark, Dick Lundy, Jack King, Johnny Cannon, Norm Ferguson, Wilfred Jackson, Tom Palmer, Ben Sharpsteen, Jack Cutting, Dave Hand and Charlie Byrne.
For once the roles are reversed; Peg-Leg Pete is a prison guard with a watchful eye on a chain gang. A chain gang where the our favorite mouse is toiling away. As the prisoners work an impromptu musical number forms, a musical number which escalates into a full-blown riot and prison break!
Fun-fact: the dogs chasing Mickey would later be adapted further and became Mickey's best friend, Pluto. In other words; these dogs are our first glimpse of a Pluto-prototype.
Thank you for watching this vintage cartoon here, at the Toon Vault! If you enjoyed this gem, why not check out the original, monochrome version here: th-cam.com/video/BJtdSGfzEcY/w-d-xo.html ?

Simon the Monk in "Monkeydoodle" by Les Elton.

Animated an directed by Les Elton, "Monkeydoodle" premiered in 1932. "Monkeydoodle" is an interesting, bizarre and completely unhinged piece of animation history. We join in as the whimsical monkey Simon the Monk and his canine companion / mount goes about their day, including a dance party and running from a tiger. Though rather thin in the way of a coherent plot, this cartoon excels in its ex...

ESTE ES LA MEJOR CARICATURA DEL MUNDO 🌍 ❤😃
Anything outdated, including racism, fascinates me. Besides, stereotypes are one thing; race-hatred is another.
6:26 bagley beetle looks like Nixon, only with a different nose.
They should have had a mantis in this; like, the minister should have been a praying mantis. I ❤ this movie, though; for instance, everybody’s living on borrowed time, yet they’re cheerful. nice and scary! Maybe it’s courage, that greatest of all virtues.

is opening cartoon from futurama
Exactly. It's the opening cartoon from the opening sequence of Futurama, specifically shown in “Space Pilot 3000,” Futurama’s pilot episode, which aired on FOX on March 28, 1999. The part: 5:00
idk why im here oh yeah! i know now in case you don't know this cartoon was shown on the first ever episode of...futurama...and it was in black & white btw (shown in the intro)
I seriously that cuphead guys saw this cartoon for research
As a point of reference, the source for many of this posts has for some reason had the intro music added from the first SUPERMAN cartoon, which everyone will agree was recorded excellently with a larger orchestra and what was used in the following cartoons. The inconsistency in the quality of the music is obvious and this insert makes the presentation a bit inauthentic.
5:10 cubby swearing
Wow. I’m studying older cartoons so I can make my own cel animations. I really like Ub Iwerks’ style! I also love how simple the color palette on this cartoon is, just red and blue.
in all honesty this is a rare moment in color history
Okay, can anyone just tell me please who are, respectevely, the folks that I see from timestamp 1:39 to timestamp 2:12?
So that’s why VibingLeaf use this? 😮
