    Purges are real and they ended for me accompanied by huge shadow work, my mind has expanded now, my brain doesn't get triggered the way it used to get triggered after years of family abuse and mentally illness, ascension is real and it's when your soul is done with karmic lives and then it purges the toxins and craps that it has used to learn and purified itself, it's all real and I have experienced or, I have experiences miracles in mental healing that you wouldn't believe, so much mental toxins and energy toxins have been cleansedbuo in the past 6 months, not every childhood abuse victims heals so quickly because not all of them are in their last life and thus ascension. But I have. And you should believe it dear because it's real.

    I very much agree with Gladys that so much human suffering is caused by humans. If we invested, in love, resources in medical research that we now invest in weapons, so much illness would be alleviated. I speak as an American. I also think that groups such as those that ostracized Gladys have weaponized dogma. We so benefit from the thoughtful discussion presented on this channel, and need to recognize that there are an infinite number of ways to respond in love to life.

  • @BobHutton
    @BobHutton 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Stephanie probably should have started by what she means by "atheist". Atheism is not a worldview, at least not with the usual definition. An atheist is simply someone who has no belief in a god or gods. Buddhists could be considered atheists, but their worldviews are very different from, for example, those who hold to philosophical naturalism. The whole chocolate analogy falls flat if you haven't tried all sorts of other worldviews or religions. They might "taste" even better. Should I be open-minded to, say, Satanism? Have you actually read the Bible? It definitely does not teach "love and truth together". God clearly lies in the Garden of Eden when He says of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, "For in the day that you eat of it you shall die." They did eat it and they didn't die for a very long time. As for love, verses like John 3v16 make Jesus sound like a stalker. He is saying, "I love you, but if you don't love me back, I'll torture you for eternity."

    • @KingoftheJuice18
      @KingoftheJuice18 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Let's take your Genesis critique. Regardless of whether one believes the story is inspired by God, don't you think the author would have noticed the issue you're talking about? There are several possible answers to the question: One is that God was forgiving to them, given their overall situation, and postponed their dying. Another is that they became physically subject to death on that day. Another is that through the knowledge they gained from eating the fruit, they became aware of human mortality. It's not a strong literary reading of the text (much less a strong religious reading) simply to say, "God lied." Obviously God (or the character "God," depending on your viewpoint) has the capacity to put them to death, given His power to create, etc.

    • @BobHutton
      @BobHutton 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@KingoftheJuice18 Sure, you can go with that interpretation, but that's not what you get from a plain reading of the text. It's also not how biblical scholars tend to interpret the text. The main point being is that it is not at all clear the God values truth. Another example that springs to mind is the Davidic Covenant (from 2 Sam 7) where God promises there with always be a king of Israel in David's line. That didn't happen. That could just be because God was not powerful enough to deliver on His promise, but note (unlike most covenants in the Bible) there is no get-out clause in this covenant (something like, "If you obey my commands, I will ...").

    • @KingoftheJuice18
      @KingoftheJuice18 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BobHutton Hi. Part of what I was saying is that a "plain reading" of the text is not the same as an unintelligent reading, a reading which assumes the author didn't notice such an obvious problem, but we, in our superior wisdom, did. As for biblical scholars, that's a much longer conversation: which scholars and according to which assumptions and methodologies? But I disagree with you even more regarding your broader point. You're choosing your evidence quite selectively. There are many, many divine commands prohibiting falsehood, deception, perjury, and insisting on true judgments and measures and investigations, etc. There are many prophetic speeches declaring God's expectations of the same principles. And then there are the times that God's attributes are literally described as true or faithful (which are etymologically connected in Hebrew). The description of God in Exodus 34:6, "abounding in lovingkindness and truth (or, faithfulness)" is quoted in one form or another in about six other places in the Hebrew Bible. I could go on, but the primary reason that questions about things like the promise made to David are problematic is because it's so patently clear that the biblical God is devoted to truth. That's why it's very disturbing if God doesn't appear to be living up to His/Her own standards. By the way, I'm not claiming the Bible is "inerrant" in the sense that some conservative Christians dogmatize (I'm not even a Christian), but criticisms of the Bible are sometimes too superficial or too hasty in their conclusions.

    • @BobHutton
      @BobHutton 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@KingoftheJuice18 If you are not going with a plain reading of the text, then you need to do a whole lot of work to try and understand it in context. Otherwise you can go, pretty much, in any direction you like. Also, good translations, like the NRSV, put a lot of effort into understanding the original text in context and then translating the text into English with the contextual meaning intact. The God of Genesis 2 & 3 seems quite different to the God of Genesis 1. The latter simply speaks things into existence on a grand scale. The former (I'll call Him the Eden God) has to make the man out of clay and then the woman (after a few false starts) out of one of his ribs. As an aside, since men and women have the same number of ribs, it has been suggested that, originally, the story had God creating the woman out of the man's baculum, but later, out of prudishness, it was changed to a rib. I don't know what was important to the writer(s) of the Eden story. It seems to be a lot older than the Genesis 1 creation story. The Eden God's main priority seems to be defending his turf. When the man and woman acquired the knowledge of good and evil, then God's concern seems to have been, "Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil ...", and, as a result they were ejected from Eden so they were no longer a threat. This may have been the main focus of the writer(s) and if God told a few fibs along the way, they weren't too fussed. The God in the Tower of Babel story seems to have a similar priority. You seem to be assuming that God, God Almighty, The Lᴏʀᴅ, Jehovah etc are all the same entity. Exodus 6v2,3 makes it pretty clear that there was an editor/redactor attempting to harmonise various texts that existed at the time. The attributes of these various God figures being merged may have been quite different. Absolutely I'm selectively choosing my evidence. It is a lot easier to disprove something than to prove a claim. To disprove something, you really only need one counterexample. I've supplied two so far. If I put in more effort, I could probably find more, but I shouldn't need to.

      @@BobHutton Oh my, there would be quite a lot to respond to here. You've greatly expanded the scope of your argument. You've gone in our interaction from questioning whether the biblical God cares about truth to making broad assertions about varying portraits of God or, to simplify, the Documentary Hypothesis. It also seems to me that you didn't respond to any of the evidence I cited for the Bible's enormous emphasis on God's concern for truth. And your reasoning about proving vs. disproving isn't a response because it's not correct. To use a very mundane example if, somewhere along the way, Stephen King had written a couple of romance novels, and someone made the claim, "Stephen King isn't a horror writer; he doesn't care about the genre of horror stories. Just look, he wrote, "A Young Woman's Passion" and "The Heart Knows its Own Secrets"-this would obviously be a poor argument. It's not that the exceptions or apparent contradictions don't count, it's that you've made something into a black and white matter, an "either/or" when the category in question is not like that. The God of the Hebrew Bible manifestly cares about truth to an extreme degree-it's all over the place-therefore the few times when, at first blush, it appears to look different probably require interpretation. I must keep this response a reasonable length, so I'll just point out that you aren't "plain reading," you're "skeptical or ungenerous reading." This is shown in your interpretation of why God kicked them out of the Garden. If God were genuinely threatened by their gaining knowledge, why did He create the Garden, and place man in there, and make the Tree available to them, or not stop them from sinning in the first place, etc.? You're reading God's attitude or emotion or intention (directing the movie) in one very particular way, which also, I contend, doesn't in fact take the context into consideration.
