S12E10: The Cost of Sin (Prophets & Kings, Part 10) Sermon #457 The episode of David's sin does not simply end with his repentance. As is often the case, the wreckage of this single momentary lapse in judgment follows not only David but also his immediate and extended family for many years, and even affects the nation of Israel as it descends into civil war, led by David's third son Absalom. We...

S12E08: Conviction & Repentance (Prophets & Kings, Part 9) Sermon #456 This dark chapter in David's life brings in a new person to the story, Nathan the prophet. Although David had hidden his sin from others, he had not hidden the sin from himself, and he certainly did not hide it from God. When Nathan confronts David with the made-up story of a rich man who stole a poor man's lamb, David was e...

S12E06: The Downward Spiral (Prophets & Kings, Part 8) Sermon #455 [This sermon was recorded in 2021 but was never released. In an effort to complete the Prophets & Kings series from that Summer, we are going back and releasing these sermons in 2024.] In our series so far, we've only seen the good in David. He is faithful to God, he is faithful to Saul even when Saul wants to kill him, and he i...

S12E04: The Death of Death (Hebrews: In These Last Days, Part 4) Sermon #612 One of the primary motivating factors in life is, ironically, death, or rather the fear of death. The evolutionist would tell us that the two things that drive every species on the planet is the desire to survive and the desire to reproduce. In reality, God made us without death in the world, yet we brought death into ...

The language used suggests mooring a ship to a dock lest it slide past the safety of the har...

Without getting into specifics, have you ever found yourself in a sin spiral? Were you able to walk away from temptation or did you give in? Looking back on that time, could it have been avoided? Let me know in the comments below.
What do you think of this statement? "Moses delivered the law to the people and they sinned; Jesus delivered us from sin by fulfilling the law in his body." Let me know in the comments below!
It's said that the second greatest fear is the fear of death (fear of public speaking is first!). Do you believe in the afterlife? Do you fear death? If so why, and if not, why not? Let me know in the comments below!

Hey Oscar!
How do you best understand the Trinity? What heretical explanations have you heard or used? (Egg, Sun, three-leaf clover, etc)
Beautiful ❤
Thank you, it's one of our favorites 😁
@@bretwalker2295 Me too, you sang it so beautifully. Thank you for sharing
Hope you have a blessed Sabbath

What is your understanding of being Born Again? We use that term a lot but how well do we really understand what it means? Is being born again something we do or something God does for us? If you are a Christian, are you born again? How do you know? Do you remember being born again?
The video quality is poor and I apologize. There's two things at play here: First, Facebook Live turned off Landscape mode so you can only broadcast in Portrait mode which is dumb. Second, my phone had the Wifi turned off and so the video signal was degraded to go over 5G. Sorry. But the audio is fine I think 😅
How do you understand Agape love? How have you experienced it? How have you shown it? Hit me up in the comments below!
Great job!

I grew up in the 1950s and this is a song we loved to sing at the Baptist Church I grew up in. We were accompanied by the church organist and did not sing it quite this fast, but I was amazed to still remember the lyrics more than 60 years later. Great job and thank you so much for posting. I couldn’t stop smiling while I sang today.
I do tend to speed the older hymns up a bit. I feel a little bluegrass beat going 😁
@@bretwalker2295 😊😊😊
Jesus preached with the old testament. It was the only one available
He rightfully said that Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms (the Old Testament) wrote about HIM.
Thank you Pastor. God bless all your work. By the way: What a nice desk!
Thanks! It belongs to the parsonage where we live.
I am a UMC Local Pastor serving a circuit in Georgia. Currently working my night shift job before heading to do church activities all day tomorrow. I feel validated by your video!
Bi-vocational pastors are a different breed! Praying for your tent making ministry 😊
That's the truth! And I'll be praying for you!@@bretwalker2295
Thank you. I can understand the words clearly. ❤😇
God wins in the end 😬
Yes he does! And we can too if we align ourselves with him by following Jesus Christ!
Happy fourteenth beginning. I should start my third time. It's difficult
That's the beauty of reading God's word! It is fresh every time you read it 😊
He is the new and better David. It's amazing. I remember the story of Israel when people of David and many possessions were kidnapped by the enemies and David recovered everything again. Jesus is the new and better David that brings us again the peace and the communion with God that was taken out once at the beginning.
Were you there 🥺
One of my favorites
You are so refreshing when you tell one of your personal stories, not to mention how hilarious they are. You had me giggling to the end.

OK
May God help me to share the good news, and really to live the life that is available in Jesus Christ. I believe that I have received the new birth but it is difficult for me still to spread the word of God
It's difficult for a lot of people, myself included. I look for places in the conversation to bring up Gospel matters like life, death, the meaning of life, etc. Where do we come from, what are we here for? The Bible has the answers: God created everything, we are made in God's image, and our chief end is to glorify God and enjoy him forever (Westminster shorter catechism, Q1). I find once people start talking about God and faith, it's easy to have the conversation. It's starting that is hard. Praying for you Brother!
🙏
😂
I never had realized the importance of arrive early to church as now with the teaching about Thomas 😬
There is much we can learn from Thomas, and it's not just "don't doubt."
Thank you for encourage us to be gathered as the Body that we are in Jesus Christ. To belong to a local church is a blessing, also a resposability. May we not only to be served but also serve to our brothers and sisters and together adore and serve our Lord Jesus Christ and the Father. Thank you for your blessings
😂
You mentioned that you had maybe wasted time in introduction. No you did not. That was a great history lesson on Methodist, Church of England and post revolutionary war America and the church. Im always enthusiastic about your sermons. As a kid in the Lutheran church in Pitman, the premise of the sermon was just reading from the bible and little explanation about the many parables. To this day i have no knowledge of how or why the Lutheran church came about. But today I now the how and why of the Methodist church. It was awesome! - Brian
