It’s underestimated how many black men & boys died from the fraudulent allegations made by white women. This is what you call proxy violence.

Dr Richard Howard was my great grandfather. His surgery and home was located on Las Olas Blvd. after graduating Med School, He moved to Ft Lauderdale in1913. I have his front porch rattan “waiting room” furniture. Federal highway was called rocky road. His daughter, Helen Howard Woodruff was my favorite Aunt. Miami’s main library publishes the TEQUESTA MAGAZINE, loaded with wonderful stories about south Florida.

Thank you for your history lesson. It really helped me understand my grandfather's life..I was told he was a glassblowing but then he followed the gas boom. I didn't understand how it was connected. We always had interesting glass items mostly used for special occasions. We also had glass ball paperweights. I have been trying to identify some of the glass pieces Ihave..some passed onto me by family and some I bought. Thank you.
